I joined Utmost over 2 years ago in the Business Analysis team, during the pandemic, and have recently transferred into the Finance department as a Performance Analyst.

I really enjoy the dynamic environment at Utmost, giving me new challenges every day. Since joining I have been able to grow my skillset into new areas and know that regardless of what is sent my way, I have a great team around to support me.

15 YEARS AT UTMOST

I joined the company shortly after finishing university. Many years later I’ve had numerous opportunities, working in all teams in the Investment area and getting involved in various initiatives across the business. As a result I’ve learnt so much and built a career that I’m proud of. I enjoy the variety of my role and the people that I work with are fantastic!

5 YEARS AT UTMOST

I started my Utmost journey in the Investment department. This gave me a real insight into an office environment having come straight from completing my A Levels, which was a massive change for me. I moved from the Settlements team across to the Investment Control team allowing me to be crosstrained within the business. In 2021 I applied internally for a HR Administrator role, as it’s a career I have always had an interest in. I got the role and can honestly say it’s the best decision I ever made. From working with the Talent and Recruitment lead for 8 months, to being promoted to Junior HR Business Partner – Team

Lead in May 2022, I get to work alongside the HR Business Partners with increased responsibilities.

I am lucky enough to get involved in a wide range of tasks which makes every day different, which I love!

Sophie Barraclough Senior Marketing Specialist

9 YEARS AT UTMOST

Having a degree in Marketing and wanting to develop my career in that area was one of the reasons for choosing to work at the company. I initially joined the New Business team as at the time there were no roles in Marketing, but saw it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door.

My time in that team was invaluable and the people were amazing, but I knew I needed to make that step into Marketing when the opportunity arose. I’ve been with the team now for nearly 8 years and have worked my way up to become a Senior Marketing Specialist. The company has also paid for me to do a leadership programme and further professional qualifications in Marketing, which resulted in me becoming a Chartered Marketer last year.

I’m also Head of Utmost Community, a group that aims to make a positive impact not only in the community in which we live but also the community in which we work, through wellbeing, ESG, charity, volunteering and staff appreciation, which I absolutely love!
