Eight Gallery members took a road trip on March 10th to the Lost Gold course at Superstition Mountain. On the 17th hole Jim Burrows (center) made a hole-in-one (career number 4) from 150 yards using his 7 iron. Eagle eye Dave Crum saw it go in and took the photograph of Jim with his other playing partners, Mark Wilson (left) and Bruce Smith (right).

Kick off March Madness with a FUN NEW FORMAT designed to be a great social event.

Teams of 8 will play alternate shot. Essentially it’s a foursome so normal playing time will apply before you meet in The Grille for a delicious dinner!

We are encouraging everyone to wear their alma mater colors or favorite team’s garb!

Prizes will be awarded for best dressed and best cart decor. $25 per player includes golf and dinner

Why is the shamrock associated with St. Patrick’s Day? When you think of Ireland, you may think shamrocks but, in fact, the symbol for Ireland is a harp. As legend has it, St. Patrick went to Connaught to meet two of King Laoghaire’s daughters, Ethne and Fedelm. He was unable to persuade the king to convert to Catholicism so he thought he would have better luck with them. St. Patrick used a shamrock to show how a single plant with three leaves is likened to the one Triune God with three separate and distinct Persons and- bam!- the shamrock symbol was born.

Unfortunately, as much as we like the idea of a St. Erin, Erin Go Bragh is actually not a person but a saying meaning “Ireland forever”.
