New Starting Times on Wednesday’s In an effort to maximize starting times on Wednesday’s we are making some adjustments on the Tee Sheets. For the remainder of the season when Ladies Day is on the North Course, we will use a “Split Tee” format going off of #1 & #10 on that course in the afternoon following the Ladies Shotgun (think Friday’s!).

When Ladies Day is on the South, we will utilize Split Tees both morning and afternoon on the North Course. This will make available more prime starting times for everyone!

Around the Club Seasonal Reminder: Rattlesnakes While we are loving the ideal weather conditions, so are our desert dwellers! We have heard a couple reports of rattlesnakes and want to remind you to be cautious in and around our desert areas.

Avoid walking and reaching in areas that aren’t clearly visible!

Seeking an Ace On March 3rd, Kris Ligon drove the green on #7 South and drained a 15 footer for eagle. This isn’t her first eagle on this hole either...she will be shooting for an ace next time! Playing partners included Anna Charnock, Carol Colton and Ann Byrne. Good luck Mrs. Ligon!

St. Patrick’s Day Irish Buffet Monday, March 17th 5pm - 8pm Live Music Join us in the restaurant as Executive Chef Brian Steiner along with the culinary staff prepare Irish-American Classics with Gallery flair. The Buffet will feature a mixed greens salad with assorted dressings, biscuits with honey butter, Irish stew, Corned beef brisket, cabbage, parsley potatoes, dijon crusted chicken and vegetable medley. Dessert includes shortbread cookies, mini baileys crème brulee, chocolate mousse and bread pudding.

The evening’s entertainment will feature live music in the dining room. The St. Patrick’s Celebration is only $25 per person.

3 Jills & A Jack The Gallery Women’s Golf Association annual charity event “3 Jills & A Jack” was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of the golfers, non-golfers, and all our volunteers, we were able to raise $ 11,000! Plus a $5,000 match from the Touchstone Foundation for a total donation of $16,000! This year the GWGA is supporting EMERGE! Center Against Domestic Abuse Housing-First Project.

Your participation and donations will help survivors and their children start a new life with permanent housing, a key to long term success.

Introducing Kevin Romo-Leon Pilates Instructor

As the club continues to grow, we have added a new Pilates Instructor which will allow us to offer our members more of a selection to receive one on one sessions.

Kevin Romo-Leon is a Tucson native, and graduated from the University of Arizona. Currently, Kevin works at Red Monkey Pilates Studio instructing both private Pilates Reformer Sessions and Pilates Mat classes. In conjunction with that, he is also an Instructor and Fitness Director at Heart and Soul.

Kevin encourages club members to use Pilates as a “recovery workout”- to invest in one-on-one sessions to reduce muscle tightness from your last sporting activity, while preparing the body for ‘next time.’ He expresses that Pilate’s movements stretch one muscle group with the benefit of strengthening the opposite side of the body. And that the more balanced our muscle groups are, the less the body will experience soreness and injury.

“If my clients walk away from a session feeling better than they did coming into it, I’ve achieved my daily teaching goal.”

Golf flexibility is essential and has many benefits!

4 week Program starting March 18th Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00pm All sessions will incorporate Egoscue and rehabilitation exercises from Gray Cook, Founder of Functional Movement Screen.

Key Areas to be addressed: Rotation, core muscles, hamstrings, shoulders, & upper back.

4 Week Sessions will include exercises using the following fitness accessories: Week 1: Foam Roller, Flexibility Pole, and Strap Week 2: Chair Week 3: BOSU Week 4: Stability Ball This class is specifically designed for men with the focus on joints and regions of the body where men tend to be tight. A special emphasis will be on muscles and joints that act as stabilizers, while mobilizing other areas of the body.
