Welcome Welcome to The Gallery Golf Club and the 2015 Ladies’ Member-Guest. The Member-Guest Committee has worked hard over the past several months and they have planned an event that is truly “Out of this World!” We are excited to see so many returning humans along with some new aliens in this year’s field and we hope that you have a “Blast” with us this week. As always, Director of Golf, Paul Nolen, and our Professional Staff have a great schedule of events and a fun tournament format lined up and we look forward to you enjoying the golf almost as much as you enjoy the camaraderie. Golf Course Superintendent, Paul Ellwood, and his team continue to provide amazing course conditions and we think you will agree the courses are as good (if not better) than ever. And of course what is an event without the food?! Executive Chef, Brian Steiner, and his team are sure to send your taste buds into orbit! Local Rules Sheet All play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and its Decisions and where applicable, by the following Local Rules, Conditions and Definitions. Out of Bounds: Defined by the inside points of White Stakes or fence posts at ground level. In the absence of white stakes, all fences and roads are boundaries and considered out of bounds. Stones in Bunkers: Considered as movable obstructions and may be removed with no penalty. Rule 24-1. Steps in Bunkers: Considered an immovable obstruction. See Rule 24-2b(ii) for relief instructions. Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green: Free relief is allowed from immovable obstructions on or within two club-lengths of the putting green when the ball lies within two club-lengths of the immovable obstruction. Water Hazards: Identified by Yellow Stakes, Defined by Yellow Lines. North Course #13; South Course #11 Lateral Hazards: Identified by Red Stakes, Defined by Red Lines. North Course: #2, #4, #6, #8, #9, #11, #14, #15 & #16 South Course: #4, #8, #10, #15 & #18 Embedded Ball: The Embedded Ball Rule is in effect Through the Green.
Drop Zones Non Blue Stake Drop Zones: Hole #15 North: Right Green; For a ball left or over the green only; the DZ is located at the front left of the green. Hole #8 South: DZ located on the green side of the path in front of the Red Tee. Hole #11 South: DZ located on left side of fairway on tee-side of the wash. Blue Stake Drop Zones: As an additional option under Rule 28 for a ball (does not have to be found) where there is reasonable evidence that has passed the blue stake, the player may drop in the designated Drop Zone under the penalty of one stroke: North Course Hole #8: For a ball over the green and is thought to have crossed the cart path between the two blue stakes only; the DZ is located on the back tee of #9 tee. Hole #15: For the left green only; the DZ is located on the tee side of the wash. South Course Hole #16: For a ball left of the green only; the DZ is located on the left side near the wash. Use of Range Finders: Use of Range Finders or artificial yardage calculators IS allowed. Devices which measure slope and/or wind ARE NOT allowed.
