Sign-ups open Wednesday, January 20, 2016, on ForeTees or by contacting the Golf Shop. This is a wonderful event to play golf, raise money, and enjoy a really fun day together. YES, - there are Prizes!!!! Our annual event will support HONOR FLIGHT SOUTHERN ARIZONA. This organization transports our WWII Veterans, both Women and Men on a three-day trip to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Our Greatest Generation!! Did you know American WOMEN played important roles during World War II? Not only did they give their sons, husbands, fathers and brothers to the war effort, they gave their time, energy and some even gave their lives. Nearly 350,000 women served in uniform as they drove trucks, repaired airplanes worked as laboratory technicians, rigged parachutes, served as radio operators, flew military aircraft across the country and test-flew newly repaired airplanes. Some women served near the front lines in the Army Nurse Corps, where 38 were killed as a result of direct enemy fire.

Sixty-Eight women were captured as POWs in the Philippines.

We know the importance of what this “Greatest Generation” did to shape our world today. Let’s honor the Women and Men who served with honor and send them on “One Final Mission – a Sentimental Journey”!

Congratulations to Head Golf Professional Paul Nolen and Assistnat Golf Professional Kristie Fowler for their accomplishments in the 2015 Southern Chapter, PGA. Paul was recognized as Senior Player of the Year and Kristie was recognized at the Women’s Chapter Champion. Well done Team!

A Special Tech Update from Troon - iPhone Users With the latest iOS software update, a new feature called Wi-Fi Assist is enabled as a standard. The new feature’s intention is to enable the best possible signal by switching to cellular data if a Wi-Fi signal is weak. The problem with this is that it can unintentionally use a large amount of data from your wireless plan causing overages in your data usage and possibly increased cell phone bills.

If you are using an iPhone with the latest iOS software, 9.1, you can disable the Wi-Fi Assist feature through Settings > Cellular > Wi-Fi Assist, as shown below.

Instruction/Education Program Update As you all may know by now, Glen Griffith, our Director of Instruction, has made a career change and is leaving The Gallery. We wanted to let all of you know that golf instruction will not miss a beat. We have six Golf Professionals on staff to help you improve your game. We will have Clinics scheduled on a periodic basis, Golf Schools are already on the calendar and we have the wonderful tool of Flight Scope for those of you wanting to “dial in your numbers� to maximize your efficiency in ball striking and/or club fitting.

We would also continue to invite you to spend time with our TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Personal Trainers at the Sports Club. They will work with you to assure that the functionality and mobility of your body will allow you to do what you need to do to maximize in your golf swing!
