Sign-ups open Wednesday, January 20, 2016, on ForeTees or by contacting the Golf Shop. This is a wonderful event to play golf, raise money, and enjoy a really fun day together. YES, - there are Prizes!!!! Our annual event will support HONOR FLIGHT SOUTHERN ARIZONA. This organization transports our WWII Veterans, both Women and Men on a three-day trip to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Our Greatest Generation!! Did you know American WOMEN played important roles during World War II? Not only did they give their sons, husbands, fathers and brothers to the war effort, they gave their time, energy and some even gave their lives. Nearly 350,000 women served in uniform as they drove trucks, repaired airplanes worked as laboratory technicians, rigged parachutes, served as radio operators, flew military aircraft across the country and test-flew newly repaired airplanes. Some women served near the front lines in the Army Nurse Corps, where 38 were killed as a result of direct enemy fire.

Sixty-Eight women were captured as POWs in the Philippines.

We know the importance of what this “Greatest Generation” did to shape our world today. Let’s honor the Women and Men who served with honor and send them on “One Final Mission – a Sentimental Journey”!

Who said you have to keep your left arm straight???

Jordan Spieth is a perfect example of how a golf swing does not have to be perfect

to create great results. We have all heard that keeping your left arm straight is an

essential key to hitting the ball well. As you see in the picture above, Spieth

obviously does not do this. The things to pay attention to are what he DOES do

that make his swing work so well. In my opinion, there are two important things that he does extremely well in his golf swing. Firstly, his body keeps rotating

through the ball which sets him up for the second thing which is the extension of his right arm. Many of the swings I see, have the “Chicken Wing” just like Spieth has in this picture (bent left arm), but the difference is the turning of the body

and extension of the right arm. Because his body turns so powerfully, it allows

him to have minimal face rotation which lends itself to very consistent ball flight.

This is why he is able to play all different sorts of courses extremely well…his ball does not curve very much because of his clubface control.

Work on turning your body through the ball to allow your arms to extend toward the target…if you do this, you have the potential for both power AND accuracy!!
