Great Round!

One week before Christmas, Fred Kerth put a big bow on a beautiful round of 74 - net 61! He played the North Course with Jack Good, Eli Guidera and Bud McQueen. Now we all want to know...who is going to be his partner for the Compadre?

The ‘Good’ Trapp

Jim Trapp etched his name in the record books again with a hole in one on #8 of the South Course December 27th.

Witnessing and celebrating with him was Richard Burkhart, Bill Hard and Fred Kerth.

It was nice to see so many of our members and guests using the Christmas tree in the courtyard as a backdrop for their photographs. We would like to thank Paul Ellwood and team for providing such a beautiful tree.

Valet Off to a Great Start Our newly introduced Valet Service began yesterday and has been keeping pretty busy as many of you appreciate that added convenience to your club experience!

Annual Golf Programs Member Lockers This is an Annual Fee which is $130 per locker. If you already have a locker, we will carry you over to 2014 unless asked to do differently by you! Currently, there are lockers available for both men and women so please let us know if you would like to have a place to call your own and store your belongings while at the Club!!

Bag Storage Also an Annual Fee which is $130 per bag. If you already store your clubs here, we will carry you over to 2014 unless asked to do differently by you! There is space available in the bagroom so please let us know if you would like to store your clubs here!

Handicap Also an Annual Fee…this is $30 for both Ladies and Men. If you already have an established handicap at The Gallery, we will carry you over to 2014 unless asked to do differently by you!

Gallery Rewards is the Club’s way to say “Thank You” and reward our members who continue to support the club through their purchases in the Golf Shop, Sports Club and all of our food and beverage venues. In addition to being able to earn up to 10% off of eligible purchases, members will now also earn a free guest pass for every 750 Gallery Reward points they earn. $1 on eligible purchases equals 1 Point. In addition, the Reward level you achieve in 2014 will carry forward into 2015. Membership support is critical to The Gallery’s future success, and we hope that all of our members will take advantage of this new Member Incentive.

The Fall GWGA Charity Campaign: “Dollar$ not Diapers - Adults” is a wrap and was a HUGE success!

Thank You to every Gallery and GWGA Member, Families, & Friends who donated to our Diaper Drive for Adult Incontinence Products.The grand total was $5,705 against our goal of $3,200! This donation will provide bulk purchases of nearly $25,000 in elder incontinence products!! Your generosity is humbling and will make life better for HUNDREDS of our elders in need.

With deep appreciation, Faith Elwess, Barbara Bolton, & Robin Allen Social & Charities Committee Fond Farewell It is bitter-sweet to announce that Margie Vaughan, our Merchandise Manager has decided to retire. She has been with us now for 3 years and now she is ready to start playing some golf herself and enjoying time with friends and family. Margie will still be with us at least through February assisting in the transition for her replacement. Please join us in wishing her a fond farewell and let her know how much we appreciate all she has done for all of us at The Gallery!!

Moving On Up Please join us in congratulating Andrea Helminen on her promotion to the Merchandise Manager position. Andrea has a unique background in the world of golf in that both her father and brother are Golf Professionals. She has worked at other golf facilities in the past and we look to her experience to lead our retail operation into the future. She will be transitioning with Margie over the next couple of months, so please let her know your preferences and wish her the best!

Chef’s Table January 15th Join us as Chef Brian Steiner prepares a signature multi-course dinner celebrating the New Year with new twists on classic dishes. We have a few spaces still remaining, reservations are required for this wonderful culinary experience.

Wine Dinner Season Series We will be creating four, 4-course Wine Dinners this year January-April. The first Wine Dinner this year is on Tuesday, January 21st at 6pm featuring fantastic wines from Opolo Vineyards. The cost of this 4-course dinner with paired wines is $75 per person, space is limited to the first 40 reservations. Kick off your January in style by enjoying a special evening at your club.

Complimentary Functional Movement Screening Workshop

Date: Wednesday, January 15th Time: 4:00pm to 5:00pm Where: Sports Club Group Fitness Studio Conducted by Gina Rhine- Functional Movement Screen Certified Postural Alignment Specialist-Egoscue University The Functional Movement Screen captures fundamental movements, motor control within movement patterns, and competence of basic movements. It identifies functional limitations and asymmetries.

The FMS is comprised of seven movement tests that require a balance of mobility and stability. Put simply, the FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are keys to normal function.

Benefits of the FMS: • Focus on the fundamentals of movement • Identify physical imbalances, limitations, and weaknesses.

• Establish a functional baseline to mark progress.

• Improve fundamental movement patterns with simple corrective exercises.

• Individualize training and conditioning programs for specific results.

• Reduce the potential for training and sports injuries.

• Facilitate communication with clients, physical therapist, physicians.

She has experience in training clients in areas of golf fitness, weight loss, sports/exercise nutrition, sports conditioning and flexibility. She also holds certifications from the Human Kinetics Department at the University of Illinois, specializing in Exercise Nutrition, Group Fitness and Power Training for Elite Athletes.
