Our tuition and fees are 38 percent lower than the national average for out-of-state tuition, and our students graduate with very low debt, nearly two-thirds less than the national average. No other university offers full immersion in a bilingual ASL and English environment, along with internship and research opportunities that span the globe. CHOOSE FROM OVER 40 MAJORS AND MINORS Our General Studies program leads you into a wide selection of majors, including nationally accredited programs in accounting, business, information technology and social work, and our new Risk Management and Insurance and Public Health programs. TRANSFER CREDITS

IF YOU ARE A NEW SIGNER

Gallaudet University accepts collegelevel credits from postsecondary schools (both U.S. and international).

Grades in transfer courses are not calculated in your Gallaudet grade point average (GPA).

Consider coming to JumpStart: ASL, a four-week summer program that includes formal instruction and immersion in ASL and an orientation to campus. For more information, see www.gallaudet.edu/studentsuccess/jumpstart.

Official transcripts are required for transfer credits to be evaluated and accepted. If you wish to transfer credits from more than one school, you must submit an official transcript from each school attended.

The Office of the Registrar can provide a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) to assist you in planning.

There is a one-year residency requirement for all transfer students, involving a minimum of one year of coursework at Gallaudet before graduation.

IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT TAKING COLLEGE COURSES If you are a high school student in a dual enrollment program, taking both high school and college courses, you should apply as a first-time freshman. We will evaluate your college coursework for transfer credit. Please know that you will still be considered a first-year student for financial aid and housing purposes.
