Home favourite proved a popular winner as English pair duelled in dramatic play-off for men’s title T he inaugural ISPS Handa World Invitational Men | Women, presented by Modest! Golf Management produced two worthy champions as local favourite Stephanie Meadow held off Charley Hull to win the women’s tournament, while England’s Jack Senior defeated compatriot and friend Matthew Baldwin in a play-off. The 2019 staging of the brandnew $500,000 event was a first of its kind for Europe where men and women competed for equal prize money at the same venues at Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort and Massereene Golf Club. Galgorm is already recognised as one of the best stop-offs on tour and where the record-breaking NI Open was played for almost a decade. With the support of global sponsor ISPS Handa and Modest! Golf the World Invitational is a step change for tournament golf and this innovative new format is pioneering the way for professional golf in Europe.
