Who is Alessandro Mendini ?
Alessandro Mendini was born in Milan in 1931 and graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1959. After working alongside designer Marcello Nizolli who helped to revitalize the Italian post-war industry, Mendini became involved with the avant-garde movement called Design Radical. In 1979 he joined Studio Alchimia in partnership with Ettore Sottsass and Michele De Lucchi.
Mendini has headed up prestigious magazines, such as Casabella (1970-1976), Modo (1977 - 1981) and Domus (1980 - 1985 / 2010). Since 1989 he has been at the helm of Atelier Mendini, with his brother Francesco. They design projects for major Italian and international clients such as Alessi, Bisazza, Cartier, Philips, Swatch, Venini.

An Alessandro Mendini creation, the K2 colored sofa is an evolution of the Kandissi sofa, which he designed in 1979. This model has been altered in size and shape to make large-scale production possible. Launched by A Lot Of Brasil in 2013, it is produced in a range of materials such as lacquer and Amazonian wood and Zanotta. Their pieces also feature in the collections of certain museums, such as MoMa of New York, the Pompidou in Paris and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany.
Seen as one of Italy’s major designers and thinkers, three Mendini pieces are currently produced by A Lot Of Brasil – the K2

Who is Fabio Novembre ?
Born in Lecce, Italy, Fabio Novembre moved at an early age to Milan where he studied Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. After spending a time in New York where he studied film direction, he returned to Milan to open his practice.
Novembre is versatile with his projects spanning architecture, interiors and furniture design.
He has carried out a range of assignments for major international brands such as cappellini, bmw, driade, reebok, kartell, fiat, philips and casamania.

Who is Karim Rashid ?
Egyptian Karim Rashid was brought up in Canada where he studied Industrial Design at Carleton University. In 1983 he finished a post-grad in Design at IDA in Italy. Since then he has created over 3,000 designs, received over 300 awards and worked in over 40 different countries.
Some of the best-known brands for which Rashid has created products are Christofle, Veuve Clicquot, Alessi, Artemide and Samsung. Multi-faceted, he designs furniture, accessories and lights, interiors for restaurants and hotels such as the Morimoto restaurant and the Nhow hotel, and even packaging concepts for brands like Kenzo and Hugo Boss.
Inspired by forms, curves and vibrant colors, Karim Rashid’s work has a strong visual appeal and has worldwide reach. For A Lot Of Brasil’s 2014 collection he has designed two pieces: the Siamese chair and the Vida table.

Who is Nika Zupanc ?
Nika Zupanc is known for her poetically inspired furniture that shows the emotional side of design. She graduated in the year 2000 in Industrial Design from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
She opened her studio in 2005 and since then has designed furniture for companies such as Moooi, Moroso and Nodus. In 2012, Zupanc had the chance to take on an interior design and art direction project in her hometown, when she reformulated the hip AS Aperitivo bar.
Among the exhibitions in which she has taken part, highlights are the Dior show at the Grand Palais in 2013, another at the Maxxxi Museum in Rome with curation by Giulio Cappelini, and one at the Rossana Orlandi gallery.
Nika designed the Maid chair specially for A Lot Of Brasil in 2013, and her new piece for this year is the Lace light, which can be used either hanging or in a wall holder.

Who is Pedro Franco ?
Brazilian architect Pedro Franco was born in 1977 in the city of São Paulo.
Founder of the A Lot Of brand, he has a long relationship with the Italian market. His first international appearance was in 2000 after winning the Brasil Faz Design competition at which he presented the Orbital armchair, created during a workshop with the Campana brothers in São Paulo. The piece was included as the cover of the Italian book Scenari del Giovane Design. Also in 2000, Franco was invited to exhibit his piece at Abitare il Tempo, curated by Vanni Pasca, Giulio Cappelini and Paola Antonelli
Since then, the designer has taken part in numerous editions of the Milan Salone; in 2000 and 2002 in Brasil Faz Design; in 2009, 2010 and 2011 in the Satellite Salone, curated by Marva Griffin, as well as the Special Needs Exhibition at Nhow Milan in 2009. He was a guest speaker at Torino Design Week in 2009, alongside figures such as Enzo Mari and at the Satellite Salone in 2010 with the theme “You need a brick to build a house,” with Fabio Novembre.
As a curator he conceived the Brasil é Cosi exhibition, which showed the work of 32 young designers at the Milan Salone in 2009.
Various of his works have appeared in publications around the world, such as the Orbital armchair in 2000, Supernova armchair in 2002, Underconstruction armchair in 2009, the Carnevale armchair in 2010, and Dreadlock seating in 2009.
In 2012 he founded and conceived A Lot of Brasil Industries and Vanni Pasca chose his Skeleton chair to enter production. This year Pedro is showing three pieces: Skeleton chair, Crocodile chair and the Underconstruction armchair.

Who is ?
Since it was founded in 1930, the Italian company Pininfarina has been known in the automobile industry for designing for major automobile brands like Ferrari, Fiat, Peugeot, Maserati, among others.
But it was only in 1986 that the company created Pininfarina Extra, a new opportunity for extending the brand’s design capacity, outside the auto sector.
Since then they have put their name to over 500 designs under the direction of their president, Paolo Pininfarina.
The company’s main activities include industrial design, architecture, interior design and transport design. Gorenje, Coca-Cola, Philip Morris, Unilever, Jacuzzi and Chivas are among their clients.
In 2013, A Lot Of launched the Beach chair, inspired by Brazilian beaches and conceived exclusively by the Pininfarina design team.

Who is Paolo Ulian ?
Born in 1961 in

In 1990 he moved to Milan, where he worked for two years with renowned designer Enzo Mari. He then returned to Tuscany where he was born, and, with his brother Giuseppe, opened a practice which still functions to this day. His portfolio includes designs for numerous brands such as Skitsch, Fontana Arte, Driade, Luminara and Droog. In the year 2000, Ulian took part in the Satellite Salone in Milan, where he received the international Design Report Award.
His reissued piece for A Lot Of Brasil is the Row bench, which was designed in 2009 for public spaces and received an honorary mention at the Compasso d’Oro. It is now produced in aluminum with electrostatic paint.
