Gloria’s Coffee Can HoneyWheat Bread

In a large bowl: 1/2 c. warm water 1 T. sugar 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/8 tsp. ginger Let stand until bubbly

Next, add: 2 T. vegetable oil 2 T. honey 1-12 oz can evaporated milk Mix; then add 1 cup at a time: 1 c. whole wheat flour 3 c. unbleached white flour Add most of flour mixture using electr ic mixer then working in thefinal cup of flour by hand .

Grease two 1 lb. or one 2 lb. coffee cans, including plastic lids. Make sure they’re well-grease d. Drop batter in and seal cans with lids. Let rise in warm place until lid pops off. Remove lid and back at 330-350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golde n brown.

Let cool slightly before removing bread from cans.

Serve hot and enjoy.
