The stainless steel and aluminum sculptures created by Massachusetts artist, Rob Lorenson are a compositionally rich interplay of formalist elements. The work is constructed of sturdy, permanent materials but lives in contradiction to the impermanent sense of the composition. Lorenson strives to emphasize the formalist qualities of the work, to create dynamic movement with static, solid objects.
Rob Lorenson received his BFA from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and an MFA from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Emblematic of Barber’s paintings are the organic layered forms and textural variations visible on the painting’s surface. For the most part, Barber’s poured paint process is spontaneous, allowing for incidental reactions to occur between the various mediums utilized.
Graphite and oil pastel mark making is visible among the organic shapes whose color palettes are inspired by the seasonal changes.
Barber’s work is in the corporate hotel collections of the Ritz Carlton, The Beverly Hills Hotel, The Four Seasons and Yale Hospital.
