Marineland

Marineland of Florida is one of Florida’s first marine mammal parks. It is billed as “the world’s first oceanarium.” Marineland functions as an entertainment and swim-with-the-dolphins facility. Marineland opened in 1938 as the world’s first underwater motion picture studio. In January 2011, Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest, bought Marineland’s storied Dolphin Conservation Center from developer Jim Jacoby. Marineland was added to the NRHP in 1986. 9600 N. Holden House

Home of the Flagler County Histroical Society. The circa 1918 Holden House was constructed by Samuel Merwin Bortree for his daughter, Ethel Lura Bortree and her husband, Tom Edward Holden. Holden was the town pharmacist and actively involved in local business, civic and political affairs. In addition to managing the Holden House Museum, The Flagler County Historical Society operates a museum and a unique research library in an annex behind the house. 204 East Moody Blvd., Bunnell

The Dixie Highway was the brainchild of Carl G. Fisher of the Lincoln Highway Association. The Dixie Highway was planned out in December 1914 to connect the Midwest with the South. An old section of the highway exists today near the small town of Espanola.

Historic Tours of Flagler College – St. Augustine

Historic Tours of Flagler College highlight the architectural heritage of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, listed as a National Historic Landmark. Built by railroad magnate, Henry M. Flagler in 1888, the Ponce is considered one of the finest examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture and was one of the most exclusive resorts of its day.

Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park Scenic Walking Trails – Flagler Beach

Ruins of the former plantation - a sugar mill, a unique spring house, several wells, and the crumbling foundations of the plantation house and slave cabins swept away in the Second Seminole War. A scenic walking trail leads visitors to the sugar mill ruins, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
