Georgia Farm Bureau serves nearly 300,000 member families through 158 county Farm Bureau offices. Since its beginnings in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau has continued to expand and improve services for members. In the early years, members were almost exclusively farmers, and Farm Bureau continues to be the largest voluntary farm organization in Georgia.

Today’s membership includes Georgians from all walks of life, and service and benefit programs have been added to bring increased membership value to all members. What is identity theft?

Identity theft occurs when a thief uses an individual’s personal identification information, such as a social security number, an address, and/or credit and debit card numbers without permission with the intent of committing fraud or other crimes.

How does ID Theft Consultation and Restoration Service work?

3 If a GFB member suspects that their identity has been stolen, they call the toll-free number listed below and speak with a trained Member Service Specialist.

3 After gathering some basic information, a thorough assessment of the member’s unique situation will be performed to determine the nature and extent of the identity theft event.

3 Once a determination has been made that a member’s identity has been stolen, the member is assigned a Personal Recovery Advocate and a case file is opened.

3 Utilizing a Limited Power of Attorney, the Personal Recovery Advocate will work on the member’s behalf to restore their identity to pre-theft status.

It is an independent, non-governmental organization. The membership is composed of members who want Georgia to be agriculturally successful, progressive and prosperous.

Formed in 1937 by 50 farmers, Georgia Farm Bureau continues to have a strong grassroots network with 158 county Farm Bureau organizations. Agriculture in the Classroom

Agriculture in the Classroom programs teach children about the sources of their food and fiber and the importance of agriculture in the state, national and international economies. This is done through lesson plans based on state standards, teacher training, and special events.

Commodity Advisory Committee The Commodity Advisory Committee represents 20 major commodities produced in Georgia. The purpose of each committee is to develop communication among Farm Bureau members and to serve in an advisory capacity for the president, board of directors and staff. Advisory committees help develop policy as it relates to specific commodities and issues that affect producer’s livelihood.
