C R E AT I V E THINKING SKILLS TASK DESCRIPTION My first ever CTS and semester one assignment that involves design. Incooperating my thoughts and feelings based on the question with milk cartons.

PROCESS After completing the proust questionnaire, I decided to go with a Dystopian city theme as my design approach based on my answers.
OUTCOME I managed to complete the assignment with a good grade. Everything went as planned and Mr Charles was impressed and surprised with the outcome of the assignment.
REFLECTION Overall, this assignment was an eye opener as I managed to work with other people at the final exhibition. A collaboration, bringing many ideas together and coming up with our island for CTS.
ELEMENTS IN N AT U R A L A N D B U I LT ENVIRONMENTS TASK DESCRIPTION This was my final ENBE assignment. I was grouped with other people to come up with a new design on an existing city based on precedent studies that we chose.

PROCESS We picked Ipoh Old Town as the place we planned to re-imagine and re-design. We planned to imply Barcelona’s City Blocks concept to clear off cars and etc, resulting to better tourism and eco-friendlier.
OUTCOME We manage to achieve our goals and presented this idea to our lecturer. We had a solid idea but might need more extra features and more solid improvements.
REFLECTION This assignment really taught me how to consider many factors when it comes to design or planning a city. Extra things were picked up such as SketchUp and Photoshop.
INTRODUCTION TO D R AW I N G TASK DESCRIPTION This module really went in-depth about technical drawings. Showcasing my final assignment, we had to design our own chalet. Covering drawings such as Site Plan, Floor Plan, Elevations and Sections. Taking north point, water flow and site context into consideration.

PROCESS After measuring the site, I went ahead with designing the floorplan. Upon receiving approval, I went on with designing the textures of the wall, roof tilings and inner roof support structure. With that, there were some learning curve for hatching and section drawings.
REFLECTION
OUTCOME
To me, this is the most important and interesting topic of the two semesters. Many things learnt and to practice with future drawings and designs.
Very proud of my outcome or final drawing despite it not being my best drawing.

DESIGN: ASSIGNMENT ONE TASK DESCRIPTION We were exposed to the fundamentals of basic design elements, principles and composition. After all of that, applying what we learnt into making our own very logo.

PROCESS AND OUTCOME Overall, it was a good assignment to learn and discover the many elements and properties, how to combine them and bring out a better design.
DESIGN: ASSIGNMENT TWO TASK DESCRIPTION We were given a jewellery brand and we need to make an artwork that represented our brand. For me, my brand was David Yurman.

PROCESS AND OUTCOME Overall this assignment was okay, due to time management with the group, this wasn’t our best work. Not much discovery but we did our best to showcase our design intentions and presentation boards.
DESIGN: FINAL ASSIGNMENT TASK DESCRIPTION Following up with our second assignment, we had to make a jewellery display set for our same brand. This would represent our brand and showcase what we have learnt throughout the semester.
PROCESS The process was definitely tough. I went with the Chatelaine collection and my intention was nature. Based from David Yurman’s main inspiration. Had to also discover materials and what jewellery to display up.
OUTCOME REFLECTION With better time management, I believe I would have been able to display the principles and elements of design better through my model. Average quailty work but good lesson.
Due to bad time management, the outcome was quite bad. Idea was there but could do more discovery. However, execution of the model was poor and could have been done better.

OVERALL IDEA Everybody had to present their final assignments to different people. An exhibition by designers, to designers, for designers.
THOUGHTS AND CONCLUSION To me, it was a great two semesters of learning and trial & error. Learning is always part of the process and we should often trust it. It may not look like it’s helping but one day it will reveal to us what we did in the past matters and why it helps us out today and in the future when we design or draw stuff.
