COMMUNITY HUB: AN EXPERIENCE IN SÃO PAULO Baixada do Glicério, São Paulo, SP Thesis mackenzie 2017 The work started from a discussion about urban conflicts and city, focusing on the issues faced in the Baixada do Glicerio region, in the city of São Paulo. It presents a new concept of architectural space, the Community Hub, as an alternative and an important tool to soften the problems faced in the communities. Thus, it proposes an intervention for the region of the Glicerio, being the conflicts and local necessities the base of structuring of the developed program. Two territorial issues that were previously raised and analyzed influenced the architectonic concept of the project: the topography and the streets. First, the topography. If there was a great difference in the terrain chosen, it was intended that through the proposed architecture connect these different dimensions, allowing access to the Hub through the four streets that delimited the terrain. In this way the volumes were created that were accommodated in order to allow the connections between the different pre-existing dimensions. The second point was the desire to bring the street - stage today of all the happenings and festivals of the region - into the project. Thus all access takes place by open squares that welcome the population and provide the meeting space that today is insufficient in the Glicerio. Thus, the extension of the street resulted, and a large square to accommodate the parties and people of the region, making two of the volumes proposed to face the unevenness of the land were suspended by pilotis. And finally, a great metallic catwalk was responsible for connecting all the volumes that harbor the uses and activities of the Hub. It is a public walkway, a “built street”, which marks the north-south connection which, with the development of the urban network, is often deficient in the region that has huge blocks without the possibility of passage.

THEATER SCHOOL - ART & EDUCATION CENTER Lapa, SĂŁo Paulo, SP Project VIII Mackenzie 2015 The project is developed in two lots close to the new lapa park (developed as part of the project in the 7th semester) aiming at some objectives: to promote a connection between the park and the city and bring the park into the lots; revitalize the walls of neighboring land, which delimit the lot where the school building was designed; activate the ground floor; and, create a new connection axis in the city, bringing the permeability to the region. The lot that makes direct currency with the park was destined to the project of a theater and a preliminary study for a residential building, aiming at the study and calculation of the coefficient of utilization and occupancy rate. In the other lot, requalifying the neighboring walls was designed the school of arts (dance, music and theater) and an amphitheater in the core of the lot, creating a space for coexistence among users.

CULTURAL CENTER - LAPA PARK Lapa, SĂŁo Paulo, SP Project VII Mackenzie 2015 Urban equipment inserted in the new park lapa, projected next to the railroad that was repositioned in its north axis, opening space for the creation of the park near the top lapa. In surveys and studies previously carried out, there was a large influx of people close to the existing large equipment in the region, such as the bus terminal, the science station, the market and the tendal. Thus, the park was designed aiming at the reorganization of these flows so that there would be the relief of these specific points, guaranteeing the settlement throughout the park. The center is located on the south side of the railway fork. The intention was not to create an object-building, but rather a meeting place, a space for the exchange of ideas, a promoter of events. Thus a system of negative spaces inserted in the park, the spaces of permanence arise and in them the programs. Through the implementation of plans at different heights, the objective is to promote the connection of pre-existing quotas (park level +1.0 and trench level -5.0) by intermediate plans. The strategy adopted is to integrate the project into the landscape and ensure the valuation of the park, maintenance of this ground level and thus, explore dimensions lower than the quota 0.0, in order to create a pleasant and versatile space that, however, does not cause a great impact in the landscape.

HYBRID BUILDING Luz, SĂŁo Paulo, SP Project VI Mackenzie 2014 The intention of the project was to promote the integration of the building with the public space of the city. Thus, the existing street between the two lots became a large boardwalk for the exclusive use of pedestrians. The ground floor and first floor are intended for commercial area; this main volume, foundation of the project is leaked, making the environment more permeable, which facilitated the relationship between interior and exterior, public and private. On the ground floor, in the center of the two blocks, we have green squares where all the other functions of the building are turned. The residential area lies on the larger block and offices on the second block. The volume was based on the design of the site itself, seeking the best use of the spaces and the quality of the spaces. The multifunctional complex is a great contribution to the good functioning of the city, promoting an equipment that facilitates the life of its users, generating more quality of life, besides being a potential for the revitalization of the neighborhood in which it is inserted.
