Objective

The objective of this project was to gain an understanding of hospitality design through creating a 7,000 sq. ft. restaurant and choosing a desirable location. The scope includes the design of the entrance, dining area, and restrooms. This project was presented through the use of multiple mediums including Concept boards and models, location presentation, and presentation Boards.

Concept

I chose to pick Downtown Florence for my location because of the community it offers. It is also walking distance to close to The University of North Alabama’s campus that it is easily accessible for college students and to the homes surrounding it also. Florence offers a variety of events to do throughout the entire year and every season in the downtown area so this café would be a very profitable business. I believe that my Plant Life Cafe trend will do very well here in Florence because it is something that’s not already available in the downtown area. With my café idea, I want people walk in and immediately feel comfortable in an open, airy environment.
