1. What first inspired you to enter the world of yachting, and how did your journey lead you to the role of CEO?
It happened almost by magic. When I moved to Greece in 1986, I quite literally “fell” into the yachting industry. What began as a Junior broker role quickly grew into a lifelong passion. The sea, the people, the stories, and the dreams attached to yachting pulled me in completely. Over time, with persistence and integrity, I grew alongside the industry until I eventually became the CEO of FX Yachting. It was never a fixed plan—it was a journey shaped by passion and purpose.
2. Looking back, what moment would you consider truly defining your professional path?
The defining moment was realizing that yachting isn’t just about boats—it’s about people, trust, and creating unforgettable memories. Early in my career, when I saw the joy and connection our clients experienced on their charters, I knew this was more than just a business. That realization shaped my leadership philosophy and became the compass that guided me to where I am today.
3. What is your personal vision for yachting, and how does it align with the business vision of FX Yachting?
My personal vision is to make yachting accessible, meaningful, and deeply personal for every client. It’s not about luxury for its own sake— it’s about dreams, connections, and discovery. FX Yachting shares this vision: we see ourselves as dream-builders, not just brokers. Our central role with Europe’s largest catamaran fleet allows us to create experiences that align perfectly with this philosophy.
LEADERSHIP & PHILOSOPHY
4. How do you feel being the top company in your industry and a model for your competitors?
It’s both humbling and motivating. Being a leader means setting the bar higher—not only for ourselves but also for the industry. If our work inspires competitors to raise their own standards, then the entire yachting community benefits. That’s the kind of legacy I strive for.
5. In a traditionally male-dominated sector, what has it been like to lead as a woman, and what unique perspective do you feel you bring?
At times, it has been challenging, but it has also been empowering. I believe women bring a natural emphasis on empathy, intuition, and relationshipbuilding, which are essential in this industry. My perspective has always been that leadership is not about gender, but about integrity and vision. Still, I am proud to serve as an example that women can thrive and lead in any sector— even one as traditional as yachting.
FX YACHTING
6. If FX Yachting were a yacht itself, how would you describe it?
It would be a sleek, steady, and welcoming catamaran—designed not only for elegance but also for bringing people together. Spacious, reliable, and full of heart—much like our company philosophy. It’s not just about the vessel itself, but about the memories created onboard.
PERSONAL DIMENSION
7. What inspires you outside of work? Do you have a personal ritual that helps you stay balanced?
I find inspiration in family, friends, and travel. Reconnecting with loved ones, discovering new worlds, and taking time to pause is what keeps me grounded. My ritual is simple: spending time near the sea. Its rhythm reminds me to breathe, recharge, and return with fresh perspective.
8. If you had to describe your relationship with the sea in three words, which would you choose?
Freedom. Inspiration. Belonging.
9. What advice would you give to a young woman aspiring to build a career in a demanding field such as yachting?
Believe in yourself, stay resilient, and lead with integrity. Challenges will come, but they are opportunities in disguise. Build genuine relationships, never compromise your values, and remember that passion will always carry you forward.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to dream big—the sea has endless horizons, and so does your career!

Q.
LIFE AS A STEW/DECK
• What Made You Want To Become A Stew?
• If you had to describe your job in just one word, what would it be — and why?
A. I began sailing when I was only seven years old, and over the course of more than two decades on the water, the sea has shaped both my character and my career. Those early years taught me discipline, patience, and respect for nature’s power. Eventually, this lifelong journey led me into the world of yachting, where I started humbly as a deckhand and later worked my way up to the position of first mate.
A. There is truly no better “office” to work in than the open sea.

Q. SUMMER 2025 HIGHLIGHTS
• Which Destination Or Moment This Summer Really Stood Out To You — Either From A Guest’s Perspective Or Your Own?
A. One of the moments that I had with me most vividly was during a charter when our guests, a wonderful family, surprised us on the last day of their trip. Throughout the week, we noticed them often taking photos and recording little clips, but we had no idea what they were planning. On that final evening, they invited us all to sit together and watch a video they had prepared. To our surprise, the children of the family had taken all those moments and turned them into a beautifully edited film of their week on board. It was touching, funny, and heartfelt all at once. We laughed together, and we realized how meaningful those days had been not only for them but also for us. It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do—helping people create memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Q. YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH
~ Vasilis Papoutsoglou
• And When The Season Ends, What’s The First Thing You Do When You’re Back On Land?
A. When the season ends, I recharge by spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying simple moments together—and regaining the weight I lose during the busy months at sea!!!!
1
Q. Can you share a moment on board that still makes you laugh, smile, or just amazed you — something that really shows what makes your job special?
1 A. We were anchored at the island of Tilos when a 7-year-old guest of ours spotted a bottle floating in the sea. For a moment, he thought it might be a pirate’s message, but when he swam to it, his dreams collapsed. Then me and the rest of the crew decided to make our own pirate’s bottle and throw it in for him to find. The excitement and joy in his eyes made it an unforgettable moment.

Q. LIFE AS A STEW/DOCK

A. Mind reader. I always have to be one step ahead of our guests’ needs.
3
Q. SUMMER 2025 HIGHLIGHTS
• Which Destination Or Moment This Summer Really Stood Out To You — Either From A Guest’s Perspective Or Your Own?
A. Karaoke nights were definitely a highlight this season! The best part? When our guests drew a name and had to pick a song for that person to sing. The surprise choices, the laughter, the brave performances — pure success!
4
Q. YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH
• Do You Have A Little Ritual Or Something Special You Do When Guests First Step On Board To Set The Mood For Their Stay?
• When The Season Ends, What’s The First Thing You Do When You’re Back On Land?
A. Greeting them with a big smile, serving cold hand towels to freshen them up and welcoming them with a twist of a Mimosa: Prosecco, orange juice cube and orange wedges inside the cube – Cheers!
A. Time to escape to a tropical island!
~ Michael Argyros
1Q. Could you share a memorable experience fromlife on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable— a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession.
A. That was my very first transfer – with two skipper friends –from Les Sables in France to Croatia. It was about five years ago and the journey took 25 days. Even today, it’s still one of the most special experiences I’ve had.
One of them had fishing gear, so we spent most of the trip catching fish. We caught a few big tunas and prepared them in literally every way possible – grilled, in salads, as pâté... I can’t even describe the feeling of eating something you caught yourself – fresh from the sea. I can still taste it when I close my eyes.
When we realized we wouldn’t be able to eat it all, I decided to make homemade canned tuna. We stopped in Italy, bought jars and all the ingredients we needed, and made a few jars to take home. I gave one to my mom when I got back, and she told me it was the best tuna she’d ever eaten – that was the best compliment I could’ve received.
And I remember once, at the end of a charter, the guests asked for some kind of entertainment, so we organized a little competition. The captain and I came up with sea games and acted as judges. One game involved partners where one had to wrap their legs around the other’s waist, like they were rescuing them, and together they had to swim around the boat. Another game was going around the boat in a dinghy – but without using the engine or paddles – so they grabbed pot lids and flippers instead!
We laughed until we cried. That energy, the laughter, the sea, the connection between people... Those are the moments you never forget, the ones that remind you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, doing what you truly love.
Q. Looking at 2026
• What dishes are you excited to prepare for the new season?
A. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve already started thinking about the next season and I plan to create a few new menus, though I haven’t decided exactly which ones yet. Every winter, I think about what to cook for the next year. My goal is always to make the most of local ingredients because I believe guests coming from different countries want to experience Croatian cuisine. Often, I cook a dish at home for my family, and in the end, they tell me: “This would be a perfect dish for the boat!”
~ Una Rogulja
1Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. One of the most memorable experiences for me was a wedding trip we organized on board. It wasn’t just about one special day — it was an entire journey where every detail had to be in harmony with the celebration. For me as a chef, it meant creating a culinary experience that matched the importance of the occasion: menus that carried the warmth of Greek tradition but also the elegance of fine dining, tailored for each moment of the trip. What made it even more meaningful was that the whole crew became part of the celebration, and together with the guests we shared something unforgettable. It was an experience that will always stay with me, both as a chef and as a person.
2
Q. A Chef’s Perspective
• How did you decide to become a yacht chef?
A. To be honest, it was something unexpected. My degree was actually in healthcare, but cooking had always been a passion of mine from a very young age. I always felt a natural pull toward the kitchen. At the same time, the sea was also part of my life since I practiced professional sailing from an early age. So when the opportunity came to cook on a yacht, it felt like the two worlds I loved finally crossed paths. That first experience completely changed my direction, and later I went to culinary school to build on it. In a way, it wasn’t something I had planned — it just felt natural, like both the sea and the kitchen were always meant to lead me here.
3
Q. Looking at 2026
• What new theme nights do you have in mind for the next season?
A. For me, it always comes back to Greece. What I would love to create is a true Greek Traditional Partynight — not just about the food, but about the whole atmosphere. The music, the dancing, the spirit of celebration — that unique energy we call a “glenti” in Greece. It’s more than a dinner; it’s about sharing the way Greeks celebrate life, and giving guests a night they will always remember.
~ Amalia Provelengiou

Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. I remember one evening in Koufonisia when we suggested to our guests that we move dinner to a small, secluded beach. Together with the crew, I carried down portable stoves, set up an improvised “beach kitchen”, and cooked fresh fish we had bought that morning from the fish market. The table was laid out on the sand, with lanterns instead of lights. By the end of the night, everyone said it was the most magical “restaurant” they had ever visited.
2
Q. Chef’s Perspective
• If one of your dishes this summer could tell its own story, which would it be and why?
A. The tuna tartare with watermelon and lime. It was born by chance, became a recipe everyone craved, and by the end of the season it was the signature dish of the summer.
3
Q. Summer 2025 Highlights
• What dish became the “star” of your summer 2025 menu?
• Was there a particular ingredient or local market discovery that defined your cooking this season?
• If summer 2025 had a flavor, what would it be?
A. Sea bream ceviche with pink grapefruit, chili, and Yuzu pearls.
A. Wild capers from Syros that truly elevated many dishes.
A. The freshness of lemon, the sea breeze, and the sweet acidity of tomatoes.
~ Nikolaos Melas

Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession.
A. Yes, of course. Some evenings after dinner, we spent time making submarine shots and showing our American guests how to create them.
One time, a group spotted an octopus in the water and asked if we could help catch it. I dived in and caught it with my hands. While we were at the surface, we gave a small biology lesson about octopuses and explained the Ike Jime method — how to quickly and humanely “turn off” the octopus.
2
Q. Looking at 2026
• What new theme nights do you have in mind for the next season?
A. For the new season the focus will be mainly on Greek local goods with a twist of fusion. A rich blend of Mediterranean umami flavors.
As for the thematic night we have in mind to make oracles night. Where the stew will be madam Zaira, a great fortune teller with ambient sounds of mystical nature. All the night will be enhanced by the full moon and my dishes adapted to the night. Mystically rich with smoke and mirrors and weird as possible.
3
Q. Personal Touch
• Do you have a signature dish that always feels like “you” on the plate?
A. Oh yes! It’s roasted lamb with potatoes and herbs — you don’t need anything else… it’s simply the best!
I also love combining my expertise in Asian cuisine with Mediterranean ingredients. I like to call it my own Mediterranean fusion!
CAPTAINS INTERVIEWS
Q. A Captain’s Perspective
• How did you decide to become a captain?
• Describe your job in a word and explain your choice.
A. I used to be a professional architect, and sailing - especially racing - was my hobby. In 2010, our country’s economy was in dire straits, there wasn’t enough work, and I was struggling to make “ends meet”. One day, out of the blue, a fellow sailor asked me to captain his boat for a charter, since he was unable at the time.
That was it! I’ve been a captain ever since and never looked back.
A. Demanding. I’m under stress all the time since I have to be in control of all things, big or small. Interestingly though, I like it. I don’t know why, but I do, I enjoy it, and I love it!
2
Q. Summer 2025 Highlights
• What destination or anchor spot stole the spotlight this summer? From the guests view or from your own view.
A. Best area I sailed this year and wish to repeat would be the southern coast of the Peloponnese peninsula. I had only seen a very small area through the years, but this time, luckily, I spent 15 days there. So many hidden gems!
3
Q. Personal Touch
• What is the first thing you do when the season ends and you step back on land?
A. I post an enormous bulletin board on the cockpit’s window - for everyone to see - where all winter time’s jobs are written down. This way nothing is forgotten.
~ Evan Hatzicostas
1Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. Every season, you begin with the same enthusiasm and the same passion to explore new places, new people and new experiences. But, we never have any idea what a unique moment will be!
For me, night sailing is always one of the great times on board! I believe, also for our guests, that experience is something different and really enjoyable! The lights of the stars, the soul of music and the noise of the sea are a unique experience for our guests. But, if, with this combination, you add some visitors like dolphins, then you have the perfect scenario!!! This summer, that was done! Mid of July, from Serifos to Hydra, before sunrise! These kinds of experiences are our blessing at our job! I will keep sailing, until the next great experience !!
2Q. Summer 2025 Highlights
• What destination or anchor spot stole the spotlight this summer? From the guests view or from your own view.
A. Summer 2025, had Aegean color!
The Cyclades and East Peloponnesos gave us some of the greatest experiences this summer. For us, as crew, a reminder why we are still sailing in this sea! For our guests, a life experience!
Top five destinations for our guests:
1. Polyegos! The place that changes the opinion of what is the most beautiful place in the world. All our guests said that! They tried to calculate the shape of blue, but it is not possible!
2. Folegandros! Wild, emotional, a place which touches the soul.
3. Kiparissi Laconias! The place where the life routine and our minds stop! One of our guests said to me that this place gave us the opportunity to have the maximum feeling of our five senses!
4. Sifnos! The combination of the land beauty, the color of the sea and the Aegean gastronomy!
5. Koufonissi! The place where the first words which come to your mind are “Greek Fisherman’s village.” The island that everybody feels free, and their soul makes a fantastic journey between the past and the present! ~ George Liassides

Q. The most vivid memory I have of the sea is the day I truly learned to respect it.
A. It was August 2016 when my crew and I were returning to our hometown, Kavala, after winning a very important race. The confidence and certainty on board were so strong that I overestimated our abilities. The weather turned dangerous, and we were far too sure of ourselves. We ran into a severe storm—a storm that sailors remember for years. Gradually, my crew started losing courage, and I was left alone. Alone in a sea that was shouting loudly that I might not make it home. At that moment, I prayed and said aloud: if you give me the chance to return home, I will never underestimate you again. And I did.
That day, I truly learned what it means to be a Captain.
2
Q. The Unexpected Side of Yachting
• Has there ever been a situation where the sea completely changed your plans, and what how did you manage it?
A. If I had to describe the sea in one word, it would be unpredictable. You see, the sea excels at one thing: changing your plans. And so, I let the sea and its winds choose my next destination. We always go with the flow.
3
Q. Personal Touch
• Do you have a small ritual when your guests first step on board — something that sets the tone for the next days ahead.
• What is the first thing you do when the season ends and you step back on land?
A. As a Captain, one of my main responsibilities is to make our guests feel safe and comfortable. Many people fear the sea, especially when it shows its wild side. A proper safety briefing, along with a detailed discussion about our destinations, always helps guests feel at ease. And, of course, no voyage is complete without a sense of humor—a language everyone understands.
The first thing I do when the season ends is spend time with my loved ones. You see, the sea may be stunning, but it can also be very lonely.

Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. There are some moments at sea that no photograph can ever capture — they can only be lived. One of the most unforgettable came during a passage from Cartagena to Palma de Mallorca. It was the second night, around three in the morning, and I stepped out on deck. We were alone in the middle of the sea, no land in sight, under a perfectly clear sky. The stars seemed brighter than ever, mirrored on the still water, and for a moment it felt as though we were floating through the universe itself. And then, as if the night wanted to give us more, a pod of dolphins joined us. For nearly half an hour they swam alongside, their movements traced in glowing outlines by the bioluminescence of the sea. It was like watching living constellations dance beside the yacht. In that instant, surrounded by stars above and glowing dolphins. Below, I felt as though I had stepped into another world — timeless, magical, almost childlike. That is a memory no picture could hold; it had to be experienced.”

Q. The Unexpected Side of Yachting
• Has there ever been a situation where the sea completely changed your plans, and what how did you manage it?
• Has a crew member ever surprised you with a gesture or moment that stayed with you?
A. There have been countless situations where the sea has completely altered our plans — in truth, it’s part of our daily challenge. Managing these moments requires constant vigilance, foresight, and proactivity. As captains, we aim always to be one step ahead, anticipating changes and adapting smoothly to ensure both safety and a seamless experience for our guests.
A. It is in the most challenging moments that a crew’s true character shines. This summer, we faced a serious medical emergency on board. One crew member stayed with the patient for 36 hours, accompanying him to the hospital and back to the yacht the next day. Throughout, the team remained calm, professional, and dedicated, ensuring safety while keeping operations running smoothly. Witnessing such humanity and commitment reminded me why these experiences stay with you long after the season ends.

Q. Summer 2025 highlights
• What destination or anchor spot stole the spotlight this summer? From the guests view or from your own view.
A. This year, we were fortunate to enjoy an extended journey in the Aegean, specifically among the Minor Cyclades. One anchorage, in particular, captured our hearts: the tiny island of Keros. With its pristine turquoise waters and serene surroundings, it felt as though the island belonged entirely to us. Over two unforgettable days and nights, we experienced complete tranquility. The natural beauty, combined with nights under a sky full of stars, created one of the most memorable moments of this summer. N36 52’ E25 39’

Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whather extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. On an Atlantic passage a few years ago we were sailing as a crew of 6 to St. Lucia. During my watch with Rebecca, Rebecca spotted something in the water almost as if it was a small fin waving us down 600nm from Cape Verde Islands.
Two turtles, trapped in a fishing net with hundreds of tiny crabs, small trigger fish teaming around it. At this point we had our spinnaker up sailing at around 9kts, we knew it would be a challenge to drop the sails, reel in the fishing rod and turn the 90ft yacht around in the Atlantic swell. With some teamwork and a good bit of hard work, a few rope burns, a broken fishing rod later, we had the boat hook in the water scooping the net and turtles out of the water. A good team effort to hoist the heavy net and Sealife onboard. We quickly began cutting the turtles free, scrambling to scoop the small crabs and fish off the decks at the same time. Soon enough they were safely swimming away and the crew had got everything back up and running cruising to Rodney bay St. Lucia.

Q. A Captain’s Perspective
• Describe your job in a word and explain your choice.
A. ‘Diverse’ Would be the best way to describe the role of a Small Yacht captain. Taking command of the Yacht and driving it is a very small portion of the role. I often find myself working and helping in all departments onboard.
3
Q. Looking at 2026
• What do you think will define the yachting season of 2026 — a trend, a destination, or a new kind of guest experience?
A. Adventure Yacht tourism. Offering bespoke on land excursions to guests in addition to the usual water-based activities.
4
Q. Personal Touch
• What is the first thing you do when the season ends and you step back on land?
A. Visit family and friends and eat out more than we probably should!
~ Matthew Dodds
1Q. Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. One of the most memorable moments was an evening sail when the sea turned into a stage of pure magic. The water was glassy, the sun melting into the horizon, when a pod of dolphins appeared and began to dance alongside us, their silhouettes cutting through the golden light like living brushstrokes. For a long moment, time itself seemed to pause — everything fell silent, leaving only the rhythm of the dolphins, the glow of the sea, and the hush of wonder. That’s what I love about this profession: no matter how many miles you sail, the ocean always finds a way to stop everyone in their tracks and remind us how small — and how lucky — we are to be there at all.
2Q. A Captain’s Perspective
• Describe your job in a word and explain your choice.
A. If I had to describe my role in one word, it would be compass. A captain must set direction, keep balance, and guide both crew and guests with clarity. The compass doesn’t shout — it simply provides steady guidance, which is exactly what I try to do on board. ~ Sokrates Kouros
3
Q. The Unexpected Side of Yachting
• Has there ever been a situation where the sea completely changed your plans, and how did you manage it?
A. Flexibility and precision go hand in hand at sea — they’re essential to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone on board. One summer in Greece, a fire on a nearby island stirred up a sudden storm, forcing us to change course to avoid the smoke. Instead of disappointment, it turned into magic. We embraced the strong winds, enjoyed thrilling sailing conditions, and eventually found shelter in a quiet cove. That night, we set up a beach barbecue under a sky painted red by the sunset and haze — dramatic, unforgettable, and strangely beautiful. Guests later told me it was the highlight of their entire holiday.
4
Q. The Unexpected Side of Yachting
• Has there ever been a situation where the sea completely changed your plans, and how did you manage it?
A. When the season ends, my first priority is always the yacht — making sure she’s cared for and prepared for the adventures ahead. Once that’s done, I like to shift gears and seek a different rhythm of adventure: snowboarding trips in the mountains, chasing waves to surf, or exploring new places off the beaten path. And then there are the quieter moments I treasure just as much — long walks with loved ones, good food, and a bottle of wine. It’s the perfect mix of adrenaline and calm, helping me recharge for the next one.
1
Q. A Captain’s Perspective
• How did you decide to become a captain?
• Describe your job in a word and explain your choice.
A. I was born and raised on the island of Andros in the Cyclades. From my childhood years, I enjoyed the sea—sailing, fishing, and living all the emotions that unique Greece so generously offers. As I grew older and began traveling as an adult, I discovered the world outside of the island.
A. I felt it was my duty—and what makes me truly happy—to share these experiences and my knowledge of my homeland and its culture with other travelers.
That is why I decided to pursue this professionally.
2
Q. Looking at 2026
~ Theodore Yiannisis
• What is the philosophy behind the travel experience you offer?
A. ‘I believe that people today live at a very fast pace. Life and daily routines are demanding and monotonous. That is why I feel that a simpler, more genuine approach is exactly what people seek to truly relax—a pause from speed, routine, and everyday habits. For this reason, I suggest that traveling with us is not just a trip, but a journey through time, culture, history, gastronomy, senses, music, and philosophy. This way, when they leave, perhaps they will take with them not only photos and souvenirs, but also a new idea about life—shaped by a different country and culture.
3
Q. Personal Touch
• Do you have a small ritual when your guests first step on board — something that sets the tone for the next days ahead.
• What is the first thing you do when the season ends and you step back on land?
A. For me, hospitality in my country does not begin when the passenger steps onto the yacht, nor does it end when they disembark.
That is why I strive to start communication earlier, by creating a group chat on WhatsApp. This allows us to exchange information and ideas while I get to know their lifestyle. Naturally, this helps break the ice before boarding, so that by the time they arrive on the yacht, we already know each other.
And if they arrive in Greece earlier, they may also need some assistance—so they feel that someone is here for them.
A. When the season ends, I return home. I embrace my partner and my daughter, and I share with them the stories of my journeys—while they share their own stories from the times I wasn’t there.
1
Q.Could you share a memorable experience from life on board — whether extraordinary, humorous, or simply unforgettable — a story you would tell to highlight the unique and remarkable nature of your profession?
A. I’ve always liked people who are smart, successful, and still humble. They are the ones I’ve learned the most from. Luckily, my job lets me meet such people from all over the world. Some of them have really impressed me and left a mark on my mind. One wise man once told me a story I’ll never forget. In a study, a group of successful people — doctors, business people, athletes, politicians, engineers, lawyers, and others — were asked to do two things.
First, they had to write a list of people who inspired them to become successful — someone they personally knew, like a teacher, parent, coach, or friend. The lists were short, just a few names.
Then, they were asked to write another list — people who would put their name on a similar list.
That’s life — two stages, two lists. If you don’t have a second list, you’ve lived for nothing. The more names you have on your second list, the better your life has been.
When I heard this story, I realized it was time for me to start building my own second list.
2
Q. A Captain’s Perspective
• Describe your job in a word and explain your choice.
A. As far back as I remember, I was dreaming to become a seaman. I was inspired by the books I read at a very early age. Books about all ancient navigators and explorers. My job is a childhood dream come true. It’s a passion, a way of life. It’s a kind of freedom.
3
Q. The Unexpected Side of Yachting
• Has there ever been a situation where the sea completely changed your plans, and what how did you manage it?
A. The biggest physical and mental challenge I experienced was not because the weather changed completely but because the whole world turned over. I had to cross the north Atlantic only with a friend of mine in the middle of the winter from West to East in terrible conditions.
When we approached the European coast we understood that the continent is locked due to the COVID pandemic. All borders were closed, and we were not able to stop anywhere. We had to continue crossing the Mediterranean without knowing how we could get back home to our families. The whole world changed suddenly in about 20 days while we were sailing in the ocean. It was a disaster. These are hardships that you are never prepared for.

Highlights include an impressive owner’s suite with a private unfolding terrace, a nearly 50-square-metre customizable flybridge, and a spacious aft platform that doubles as an extension of the cockpit or a dive deck.
Lagoon also showcases its commitment to sustainability: with integrated solar panels, a greener construction process, and the use of bio-sourced resin that saves an estimated 10 tonnes of carbon emissions per yacht.
The first hull, named Imladris, will be based in Greece and available for charter. We are delighted to welcome her into the FX Yachting fleet. Imladris will operate in Greece during the summer season and in El Gouna during the winter season.

POWER CATS VS MOTOR YACHTS
Charter the Future: Power Catamarans
The perfect charter holiday is about freedom, comfort, and unforgettable moments on the water. For years, motor yachts have been the go-to image of luxury cruising, but a new star is rising — the power catamaran. With its sleek design, generous living spaces, and unmatched stability, the power cat is redefining what it means to enjoy life at sea.
Stability That Lets You Truly Relax
One of the joys of a power cat is how calm it feels, even when the sea is less than perfect. The twin hulls provide a natural balance that minimizes rolling, both while cruising and at anchor. Guests who might worry about motion at sea often find themselves completely at ease on a power catamaran. This stability also means your charter moments are uninterrupted. Glasses stay steady at dinner, children can play safely on deck, and sleep comes easily with gentle, almost imperceptible movement.
Freedom to Explore More
With a shallow draft, power cats can anchor close to shore and slip into bays that other yachts have to pass by. That hidden turquoise lagoon, that quiet sandy beach — they’re all within reach. For charterers who love discovery, this flexibility is priceless.
Power cats are also impressively fuel-efficient, which stretches your cruising range and gives you more freedom to explore. Instead of thinking about fuel stops or limits, you think about destinations — one island after another, without compromise.
Your Floating Villa
Step aboard a power catamaran and the first thing you feel is space. The wide twin-hull design creates an extraordinary beam, opening up interiors that feel more like a modern villa than a yacht. Sunlight pours into panoramic salons, the decks stretch out with multiple lounges, and each guest finds privacy in cabins smartly separated across the two hulls.
This sense of openness changes the rhythm of your holiday. Mornings feel unhurried with coffee on the bow, afternoons slip into lazy hours on the flybridge, and evenings turn into elegant dinners on the aft deck. Everywhere you go, there’s room to breathe.
Designed for Lifestyle on the Water
Every element of a power catamaran is built around enjoyment. Wide aft platforms make water sports effortless, from paddleboarding at sunrise to diving into crystal seas at sunset. Lounging areas are spread across multiple decks, so every guest finds a perfect spot — whether that’s sunbathing on the foredeck, enjoying cocktails on the flybridge, or reading in the shade of the aft lounge.
This variety makes a power cat ideal for groups. Everyone can do their own thing without ever feeling cramped. Families appreciate the safety and open layout, while couples enjoy privacy and the ability to retreat to quiet corners.
Luxury That Lasts the Whole Journey
Chartering a power cat is not about fleeting moments of glamour — it’s about sustained comfort. The spacious design, efficient cruising, and thoughtful lifestyle features combine to create a holiday where every day feels effortless. You don’t just arrive at destinations; you enjoy the journey itself.
The Smarter Choice for Your Next Charter
Motor yachts will always be part of the charter world, but power catamarans represent a smarter, more modern way to cruise. They give you more — more comfort, more space, more stability, more freedom — without taking away any of the luxury or style.
For your next charter, don’t just book a yacht. Choose a power catamaran and discover why so many guests are calling it the future of yachting.
VISION & INDUSTRY
SUSTAINABILITY IN YACHTING
Sustainability In Yachting: Eco-Friendly Practices
Yachting is about freedom, beauty, and the unique connection we feel with the sea. But with that privilege comes responsibility. Protecting our oceans is not just a trend — it is a duty that concerns every sector, including the world of yachting.
Sustainability in yachting means rethinking the way we enjoy the sea. It starts with simple but powerful choices: using eco-friendly cleaning supplies, reducing single-use plastics, managing waste responsibly, and investing in products and technologies that minimize environmental impact. Every small action counts, and together they create meaningful change.
At FX Yachting, we believe that true luxury cannot exist without respect for nature. That is why we encourage practices that preserve the purity of our waters and promote greener solutions throughout the yachting experience. The sea gives us life, joy, and inspiration — and it is our responsibility to protect it for future generations.
There’s no planet B
By embracing eco-friendly practices, we ensure that the beauty of the oceans remains untouched, so that sailing will always be synonymous with harmony, freedom, and respect for the environment.
SOLAR PANELS ON CATAMARANS
Solar catamarans are important because they represent one of the first approaches to bringing sustainability into the world of yachting. By integrating solar panels, these yachts offer an eco-friendly alternative, reducing fuel consumption and lowering environmental impact.
This concept marked the beginning of an “eco version” of luxury yachts, showing that comfort and performance can coexist with responsibility toward the environment. Today, solar-powered catamarans are expanding globally, setting a new standard for greener yachting.
The sea gives us life, joy, and inspiration — and it is our responsibility to protect it for future generations.
It starts with simple but powerful choices, such as:
Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products: Choosing biodegradable and non-toxic cleaning supplies that do not harm marine life.
Energy Efficiency: Investing in modern engines, hybrid technologies, and solarpowered systems to reduce fuel consumption.
Waste Management: Properly separating and recycling waste on board, and ensuring no litter ends up in the sea.
Filtration System for Purified Water (mineral & sparkling water): Most of our yachts are equipped with an advanced water filtration system that provides purified, mineral, and sparkling water directly onboard. This way, we reduce the need for plastic bottles, minimizing waste, and lowering the environmental footprint of each journey.
Supporting Sustainable Brands: Partnering with suppliers and companies that share the same environmental values.
Education & Awareness: Encouraging crew and guests to adopt eco-conscious habits while enjoying their time on the yacht.
A GLIMPSE TO 2030
Smart Yachts: IoT and AI Transforming Luxury at Sea
The yachting industry is embracing a digital revolution with IoT (Internet of things) and AI, reshaping yacht management, safety, and onboard luxury. IoT enables real-time monitoring of engines, fuel, climate, and security, while AI optimizes performance and automates energy, navigation, and environmental systems. AI-powered virtual assistants enhance the experience with personalized concierge services, entertainment automation, and smart-home integration, setting a new standard for convenience and efficiency.
AI Navigation: Towards Autonomous Yachts
AI-driven navigation improves safety and efficiency by analyzing weather, sea conditions, and obstacles to suggest or execute optimal routes. Advanced sensors and computer vision help detect hazards and assist with precision docking. While fully autonomous yachts are still emerging, AI-assisted systems are already boosting security and operational performance.
Digital Sales and Chartering
Technology is transforming yacht sales and charters with virtual tours, 3D walkthroughs, and AR experiences, allowing clients to explore yachts remotely. AI analytics optimize offers and pricing, while blockchain solutions increase transparency and security in transactions.
Redefining luxury, technology, and the journey ahead.

One of the top Greek Chardonnay whites, according to the unanimous opinion of experts and beginners. The pleasant aromas of white fruits, which have also acquired a subtly spicy dimension thanks to the short maturation in the barrel, as well as its rich acidity, make it an ideal accompaniment for grilled and smoked fish, as well as for chicken in the oven.
8. T-OINOS MAVROSE 750ML DRY ROSE $$
It has pale pink color and delicate aromas of strawberry, white cherry, pomegranate, white flowers, pink grapefruit, peach, and lemon. In the mouth, it has medium body, crisp acidity, and a slightly oily feeling. Juicy red fruits are mixed with citrus and notes of dough and flowers.
Its color is light green lemon. Its aromas are citrusy with an emphasis on lemon, grapefruit and orange peel, followed by notes of peach and pear and at the end come some notes of mineral and tea. Wonderful expression of Assyrtiko from the unique terroir of Santorini with the signature of Gaia, a pioneer producer of the island.
