Despite record temperatures, the Falcons were training hard all summer. Whether the players were on campus or across the nation, the Falcons were preparing for the 2011-12 school year. Several players spent their time coaching and training younger players through the summer enrichment programs. Others were busy in the weight room and attending camps and clinics.

The following cheerleaders were awarded the UCA All American award which is UCA’s highest honor for best all-around cheerleader: Alyssa Brotherton ‘14, Maddie Jiongo ‘14, Carlyle Rascoe ‘15, Kennedy Smith ‘15 and Kennedy Stovall ’15. Rascoe was also awarded best jumps for ninth grade and under. The junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association cheer camp June 27-30 at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. They spent four days learning with and competing against 400 other cheerleaders in the areas of cheer, chant, stunt and dance. Both squads brought home spirit sticks and invitations to perform at Nationals. The FWCD cheerleaders earned trophies for Best JV Home Pom Routine, Best Varsity/JV Fight Song Routine, Best JV Extreme Routine and 2nd place Champion Cheer.
