2025 EVENT GUIDE

20 Years of Impact For two decades, Futurebuild has been at the forefront of driving change in the built environment. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’re not just reflecting on progress— we’re looking ahead to the impact we can create together. Futurebuild 2025 is all about action, and I’m delighted that you are joining us. Pioneering Innovation As you explore the event, you’ll find innovation at every turn. At the heart of it all is the Innovation Trail, featuring our Innovation Partners and their groundbreaking solutions shaping the industry’s future. The search is on for the newest and brightest solutions to an array of built environment challenges. The Big Innovation Pitch will see the industry’s most exciting innovators battle it out live, presenting game-changing ideas that push boundaries and accelerate progress. A Knowledge Programme with Impact

Opening times: Tues 04 March: 10:00 – 18:00 Wed 05 March: 10:00 – 18:00 Thurs 06 March: 10:00 – 16:00

The Futurebuild Arena, curated by The Edge and sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric, will host thought-provoking discussions that challenge the status quo and deliver actionable solutions. The Arena’s three daily themes will focus on putting circularity at the heart of what we do, sustainability, social justice, and transition, and making it happen by turning ambition into tangible outcomes. The National Retrofit Conference, sponsored by Sustainable Building Services, centres on Scaling the Ambition and Delivering the Promise of Retrofitting, with its main theme of Regenerating Our Cities and Regions. Curated by The Retrofit Academy CIC and The National Retrofit Hub, it will provide practical, actionable solutions to advance retrofit programmes. The new Big Retrofit Challenge will spotlight groundbreaking ideas tackling the industry’s most pressing retrofit challenges. Across five Impact Stages, you’ll find our most ambitious CPD-accredited seminar programme yet, featuring over 500 speakers and led by 90+ industry partners. New for this year, Impact 20x20 will bring visionaries and changemakers to the stage in a dynamic Pecha Kucha-style format, delivering bold ideas and fresh perspectives on the future of the built environment. Thank You Futurebuild wouldn’t be possible without our exhibitors, partners, and speakers, whose dedication drives real change. Thank you for being part of Futurebuild 2025— together, we’re shaping the future of the built environment.

Martin Hurn,

Event Director, Futurebuild

WALKs the TALK At Futurebuild, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s at the core of everything we do. Through our Walk the Talk initiative, we continue to take meaningful action to reduce waste, promote circularity, and minimise our environmental impact. Here’s how we’re embedding sustainability into every aspect of the event. Cutting Waste Streams

You’ll notice a key change as you enter Futurebuild – we’ve eliminated traditional carpet across our show features. Instead, we use REWIND Cradle to Cradle Certified carpet, reducing CO2 emissions. Zero to Landfill From wall graphics to hanging banners, every element of Futurebuild is designed to be recyclable, reusable, or repurposed: • GES Eco Boards – Our PVC and fibre-based display boards are collected, tracked, and recycled into new construction and fibre-based products. • Eco Fabric Banners – Used PVC/polyester banners are repurposed into barrier bases and traffic cones, reducing waste. • Digital-First Approach – We’ve transitioned to digital event maps and schedules, eliminating the need for over 30,000 printed documents.

To achieve a 28-tonne CO2 reduction from removing single use carpet manufactured from fossil fuel is impressive. To then remove the mounds of paper and printing generated by a big show is a further win.

“Futurebuild is renowned for being the stage for innovation in the built environment, and it’s fantastic to see them incorporating circular design, Cradle to Cradle Certified carpet, and sustainable materials across their show features. This has saved thousands of tonnes of CO2 and ensures all materials are safe, circular, and responsibly made.” Chaline Church

Ethical Eating Sustainability goes beyond materials – it’s in what we eat and drink. Futurebuild partners with Excel catering to bring you: • ‘Cupapeel’ – A sustainable, reusable cup. • ‘Toast’ – A carbon-neutral beer brewed from surplus food waste. • Rainforest Alliance-approved coffee in compostable packaging. • A more sustainable menu with increased plant-based options. Public Transport Push We encourage greener ways to travel: • The Elizabeth Line offers a convenient and lower-carbon way to travel. • Extra cycle storage for those arriving by bike – ride in with an eco-friendly entrance! Sustainable Stand Awards Our exhibitors are joining the Walk the Talk initiative through the Sustainable Stand Awards. Look out for those making the biggest impact and see who will be recognised for their commitment to a greener Futurebuild.

Placemaking is about everything that shapes our environment—except the buildings themselves. For 2025, the Placemaking Impact Stage, sponsored by Hahn Plastics, will explore three key themes: water management, tackling urban water resilience; biodiversity in placemaking, integrating nature into cities; and real placemaking and sustainable transport, creating connected, accessible spaces. Curated with partners including CIWEM, RSPB, CIEEM, ICE, Landscape Institute, TDAG, CIHT, GRO, UKGBC, CIRIA, and the Urban Design Group, this programme offers practical insights for shaping sustainable urban development.
