Who We Are
Our UU Principles are grounded in the humanistic teachings of the world’s religions. We draw understanding and inspiration from scripture and science, nature and philosophy, personal experience, and ancient tradition. First Unitarian Society of Madison is made up of people from all walks of life who seek supportive fellow travelers to accompany them on their spiritual and ethical journies. Together, we share a vision of a better world, and together we work toward that end. We all agree that there is no single, superior path, and that there are many possibilities to ponder and incorporate in our lives. We choose to spend at least part of that journey together in community—singing, thinking, deepening, laughing, crying, and growing with the love and support of our fellow travelers.
