THE CREATOR

Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla) hasn’t directed a picture since 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is considered one of the greatest Star Wars films in recent years. It’s no surprise that his next sci-fi action-adventure is the month’s most anticipated. In an uncertain future, John David Washington plays an ex-special forces mercenary who must find a hostile AI that may kill civilization. The moral dilemma? A child-like AI. Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, and Allison Janney feature in this end-ofmonth release.

SAW X

We mentioned frightening things in the start. Saw X, a direct sequel to the original film, returns to the franchise’s origins after a 2021 experiment with Spiral. Tobin Bell returns as John Kramer, who flies to Mexico seeking a miraculous cancer treatment and gets deceived. The only thing to do is to become Jigsaw again and be avenged. The Saw films were a Halloween fixture for over a decade in the 2000s before slowing off, but this may revive the brand.

A HAUNTING IN VENICE Here, following Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, we get Kenneth Branagh’s third Agatha Christie adaptation. Here, Hercule Poirot, played by Branagh, is retired in the eponymous Italian city when he is summoned to a séance, during which, of course, a murder occurs. Poirot must once again determine not just who the murderer is, but also whether or if supernatural elements are at play. Fun for aficionados of the genre, this picture has an A-list ensemble that includes Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Michelle Yeoh, and more than a few more.

NJI is everywhere right now, and for good reason: I can’t get enough of. Her lyrics are fresh and swagg, and she’s creating a buzz with every new music she releases. We had the chance to sit with her while she was in tokyo, she talks about her music and on tour now and she talks about motivation for her crazy songs, let’s dive in on how she is became so a buzz on social media, and why everyone should get to know her and check out her music.

INJI: I’m INJI, an electronic dance pop musician from Turkey. I’m 22 years old and live in the United States FUSION: What happened and how did you get started?

INJI: It’s a hilarious story how I got started in the profession. I was at school studying finance, and myself and a few friends wanted to produce some music, and we decided to do this extremely humorous song that just put my heart out there since I didn’t expect anyone to listen to it. I had never done music before I placed a short video on TikTok and the song simply goes and since then I am a musician lovely to chat to so let’s go more expanding on the song gaslight FUSION: Let’s speak about gaslight a little more. I know you said it was a joke, but tell me more about how she got started with gaslight. What inspired the creation of Gaslight?

INJI: Yeah, so there are two sides to this response. The inspiration for the music comes from my mother, who is a very energetic woman who likes to dance,

and I kept giving her songs that were passionate and beautiful, and she would just be like, “Can you make me dance around, can you make me jump and down?”

FUSION: Let’s have a MADALINE discussion.

INJI: This is another hilarious tale. The girl’s name is Maddie, and she’s a crazy one, and I know everyone has a Maddie in their friend group; last year, I was in college and I and my friends—especially Maddie, the actual Madeline—went out and had a crazy night, came back, and the next day we wrote the song about everything that happened that night.

FUSION: OK so tell us more about the difINJI: The fact that this is my first cover for a magazine like Fusion isn’t why I’m so ecstatic about it, though; rather, it’s because I am the embodiment of bringing together Turkish, British, and American cultures, and so the magazine’s mission and I couldn’t be more perfectly aligned.

FUSION: Last but not least, what message do you hope listeners take away from your music?

INJI: What I’m trying to say with my music is that we don’t have to take life so seriously.

You can see how the music is kind of tongue in cheek; it’s supposed to make you giggle and laugh and dance around and scream. As I said, I want my songs to make you feel happy, proud to be yourself, and excited to face the world.

FUSION: Where do you find the most difficulty while composing music? for all of you who believe it’s simple?

INJI: In times of creative block, I like to lock myself in a room and tell myself, “No one is hearing anything I’m writing right now; it can be bad; it can be horrible; I’m just going to get it out of my brain.” The worry about whether or not your lyrics will be accepted by the general public can be stifling, but I’ve found that when I’m able to write freely and without worrying about what others will think, that’s when the best ideas emerge.

FUSION: Any final thoughts for the audience?

INJI: I appreciate your presence here with FUSION, and I hope Japan invites me back because I want to come back and perform a show here, so I hope you’ll listen to me nicely.

INJI: When you first start getting some attention, it can be hard to keep believing in your music and not let the comments on your videos discourage you. I’ve found that knowing what I want to say, who I want to say it to, and trusting that the right people who want to hear that will get the message has helped me immensely.

INJI: My motivation began with my mother, and I began composing music to make her dance. Now, I want to make millions of people dance, jump about, scream, feel joyful, let go, and see the hilarious and charming side of life.What motivates you to work in

the music industry?

FUSION: Describe what it was like for you to visit Japan.

INJI: I’ve been to Tokyo and Kyoto, and the culture has completely blown my mind. It’s so different from the United States and Turkey and everything else I’ve seen, but I’m completely smitten. I’ve gotten so many ideas from these places and jotted down so many little notes that I think you can probably guess what kind of song will be inspired

by Japan.

MOGA: Regarding my photobook, “Moga Style”, we’ve been working together with a professional photographer, Mr. Oomori, for a long time. This photobook shows our bond and displays our long term, trusting relationship. To create my photobook, we did the photos with the idea of combining our perspectives of the image of Moga Mogami, coming from what I think and envision with what my creative team wants. This photobook is probably closer to fantasy style a little bit. I also did some gravure modeling, where I wore a bikini. But this photobook is not just related to my gravure parts; it is more me trying to mainly focus on creating the Moga Mogami world.

FUSION: What are the challenges that you face now and how do you try to overcome those challenges?

MOGA: I got pregnant and gave birth to my daughter during Covid. I don’t really have time to take care of myself. Even when I appeared in public, I was neglecting myself, not keeping my beautiful body lines and not putting a lot of effort into my cosmetic beauty either. So I’m now trying to get back to doing exercise again. I have a typical Japanese body, like, our body lines are generally thin, so how to make our bodies their best is with food diets, to show my body’s most glamorous side.

MOGA: This is a difficult question to answer! In fashion, other people don’t matter. Fashion makes me happy, and I think fashion is like magic to change my looks, including makeup. make-up, fashion can change people’s looks entirely. You can be what you want to be if you choose your fashion in a good way, but if you are not putting effort into your fashion, you will not make your looks based on what you want to be. Fashion doesn’t really matter how people look at you; it’s more about what kind of look you want to have.

FUSION: We know that Japan and western fashion culture are completely different.

From your perspective, is there anything that shocked you about looking at fashion from overseas?

MOGA: My first impression of the difference between American and Japanese fashion is how much they (western) are showing their skin. Most Japanese people are shy, so if a person shows more skin, they would be seen as a vulgar person and it would be perceived as a bad impression. In contrast, showing more skin is not a bad thing abroad, unlike in other more conservative locations in where people need to cover their skin. It ultimately depends on which region you belong to. First of all, I think it’s wonderful that Americans have such a sense of freedom, and dignity with it.

I AM TRYING MAINLY FOCUS ON CREATING THE MOGA WORLD

FUSION: Speaking of fashion, do you have anyone that inspires you in the fashion industry? A fashion designer or model?e MOGA: None; I don’t have anybody who influences me about my fashion. It’s more like, there is a lot of information about fashion delivered to me on social media. I just distinguished the fashion I think is good or the type of fashion that is subtle. I don’t have any single person who influences my fashion, even from the past.

FUSION: Do you still have the desire to be on TV shows and movies?

MOGA: I am really interested in TV shows in Hollywood, particularly I would love to be in Hollywood movies. I can’t speak English, but I really enjoy acting roles. I haven’t had much time to explore opportunities to play roles on TV shows because of my pregnancy and having my daughter. Personally, I really like expressing myself to the public. I would like to try it out, if there are some possibilities in the USA.

FUSION: We know you love American cinema. What are your top 4 movies or TV shows?

MOGA: My top is “Game of Thrones,” second would be, “The Walking Dead,” third is, “Blacklist,” and fourth, “Stranger Things.”

FUSION: How about your favorite music?

What have you been listening to most recently?

MOGA: My favorite song is called, “Maniac” by Stray Kids. I listen to various kinds of music, like a wide range of songs.

I like those songs which don’t contain lyrics. Recently, I like listening to the ocean’s waves. Recently, I’ve been doing meditation, so I like the healing song sounds. But I still listen to Korn’s music. The reason why I have a wide range of music.

FUSION: feel it’s a big challenge now that you have a child and your work as well.

How do you manage your time?

MOGA: I don’t go out at night. Like, today’s interview, I requested to have this FUSION interview during the day. I give myself permission to work while my child goes to her preschool. To do this, my daughter misses me if I’m busy when she is at home.

So I want to spend time with her when she comes back home, and I want to allow my daughter to pamper me! I get my job done while doing my best for my daughter.

FUSION: What’s next for you, what big goals or accomplishments would you like to focus on?

MOGA: My next goal is having a second child. I want to have a second child, but getting married is not important to me. I’m still figuring out how to make that happen.

My family is more significant than being in a relationship, so my priority is to grow my family.

FUSION: The viewers submitted questions, and they wanted to know before there was talk about you wanting to quit the entertainment industry. Was this true? And what made you feel this way?

About six years ago, I developed depression, and at the time, I once stated that I might be wanting to leave the entertainment industry. Recently, I appear in public much less than I used to, because I got pregnant and had my child.

Appearantly, the number of my fans also decreased dramatically. Then I thought, I didn’t need to be around entertainment, so I thought that I should leave the entertainment industry at the time. But I didn’t say I wanted to completely retire from it, at the time. But I don’t know how much longer I will be around because I’m not as confident as I used to be FUSION: The viewers would love to have you come to Los Angeles and for you to make an event where you can meet all your fans and Fusion would love to help with that. Would you be interested?

MOGA: Of course! I would love to see them! I would love to go to LA if I’m invited.

FUSION: We truly believe that fusion is a platform that we want everybody to use as their own voice, and so how do you feel about being on the front cover of Fusion magazine?

MOGA: Regarding Like Jerry told me, I can be a fashion model not only in Japan, but also in America. i am very flattered, however i dont consider myself a fashion model. What can I say? Well, I feel strongly that I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to grow to be the person who can be on the global platform.

FUSION: What message do you want to give to all your fans and viewers in America?

MOGA: Personally, not many American fans contact me, so I don’t really feel it. Of course, I want to respond to their requests from fans from America or Canada in fact anywhere in the world whom ever is supporting me and following me Thank you and i would be happy to hear from everybody!

FUSION We wanted to let you know that there are a lot of people out there that look up to you and would love the opportunity to meet you as well as you have truly been an inspiration. From this point on, we ask that you maintain a deeper relationship with both me and fusion.

FUSION We Moga Mogami is a Japanese idol from the group Dempagumi.inc who was adapted to have her nickname Moga-chan. She created several photo books in Japan where she began to climb the charts and as a popular idol / model and in 2015 she released her first photo book.

Many admirers from Japan and throughout the world. I like her style; as she progressed in the music industry, she started to participate in various TV shows and advertisements, and she also began to act.

In 2017, she announced her retirement from the idol group Dempagumi.inc; later that year, she announced the publication of another picture book. Since her departure from the Idol group, I believe Moga has embarked on her own road to rediscover herself while being as active as possible, and I believe Moga is unlike anybody else we have directly worked with in the entertainment world. Per-

sonally, I like her sense of style and her way of thinking; in America, we say “swagg,” and I believe Moga embodies that spirit. I like everything she does, and she can shoot the most basic shots and yet seem stunning. I believe that despite not receiving much attention, Moga has begun to establish herself as a fashion model in her own right.

We knew this wasn’t going to be just ordinary concert when we arrived at the venue and heard karaoke versions of every single one of Taylor Swift’s songs being sung by the crowd. This is definitely one of those experiences that you will tell your grandchildren about. The merch queue, where fans camped out since dawn to be among the first inside and purchase items signed by Taylor, was equally mind-blowing.

At last, as we enter, the audience is excited to see the entertainment begin.

It was only the beginning of the night, but already I could tell that the stages were something special.

One thing you can definitely count on at a Taylor Swift concert is a good time.

There were world-class performances and the best experiences money could buy, and while I am not the type of person who listens to Taylor Swift’s music, I can say that it was exciting to see for myself what all the fuss was

about.

Kicking off the event was “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince,” which declared that the audience was now in the Lover period.

The event jumped about between record cycles, or “eras,” with humorous interludes that hinted at the following period through visuals. Lover gave way to Fearless with a shower of golden sparks, Fearless ushered in the period of evermore with images of forests and trees, and my personal favorite era, Red, was inaugurated with a red box and a dancer who opened it several times.

Each time, parts of Red song escape.

Sleeper smash “Cruel Summer” with its bombastic, expansive bridge, throwback ballad “Fearless” with its aggressive guitar beginning, and wonderfully composed track “no body, no crime” with opener HAIM joining in were highlights.

The 12-time Grammy winner joked about the audience’s lovely attire, jokingly apologized for her “extremely wordy lyrics,” and warned that she was feeling emotional, heightening the sense of community. Swifties had a keen mutual understanding: in exchange for supplying the music to their life, Taylor’s ambitions had come true.

I had a sense that the eight-minute standing ovation was unprecedented even before I learned that it was a record. Swift took a moment to wait out the applause, and for the first time all night, she looked astonished and overwhelmed.

Swift ended the evening with a performance of two Midnights songs: “Mastermind” and “Karma.” Closing shows with these songs is a great idea; “Mastermind” recounts how she “laid the groundwork, and then just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line,” so it’s clear why this is a fitting choice. If I told you I was a genius, what would you say? Soon after, Swift sings that karma has become her “boyfriend.”

Even though it’s obvious she’s referring to her romantic prospects, I like to think she’s just being literal. Is she not drawn to the unknown force that keeps her going? The masters of Swift were bought out by them. She broke all prior records for fastest reprinting of previously published works.

After a certain rapper progressively burned and almost lost her career with an edited video, the complete phone call was eventually leaked and vindicated her.

For me, the visual montage that Taylor Swift’s lineup created was one of the show’s greatest and most unexpected aspects.

While listening to the 10-minute epic “All Too Well,” I found myself back in 2012, reading the Red CD sleeve notes compulsively in bed as a means of dealing with a recent breakup.

Remembering the excitement of borrowing the Speak Now CD from the library and listening to “Enchanted” brought back those fond memories. I was out on a cool autumn stroll, avoiding tennis lesson and admiring the browning leaves that had fallen into the courts, when

“...Ready For It?” brought in the reputation age. Swift’s live performances are as near to magic as one can get, and her introspective narrative style makes it easy to capture these moments on record.

That’s why, no matter how many people are listening to her in a 70,000-person stadium, everyone will feel like they’re right there. Even though unfathomable effort went into making this film, her music has been the soundtrack to many people’s lives. In fact, not even Swift herself can give it the due credit it deserves. That’s not something that can be reproduced in just any old place.

Leonardo: The Osage were considered incompetent at that time and weren’t allowed to be in charge of their own wealth and by getting a caretaker like Ernest has her husband they became an independent unit they were able to take care of one another so that was somewhat advantageous in some respects for her for him he obviously you know had genuine feelings for her but realized that there was tremendous wealth in the family the complexity of how that relationship unfolded is shown in the movie in a very interesting way and we played with how much we wanted to show the audience as far as Ernest complic-

ity and some of these murders and there were many different versions of this script one of them was exposing everything from the onset a lot of it was you know a slow reveal but I think Scorsese’s masterfully has this sort of slow burn with understanding the manipulation from his uncle and he gets further and further and deeper and deeper down this well of atrocious acts open at FUSION: what is your feelings with on working with the Osage tribal ?

Leonardo: Helped a tremendous responsibility in telling this story correctly we wanted to be as authentic as possible and that led us to have many different meetings with tribal elders in the Osage community talking with direct descendants of the victims their great grandchildren a lot of them who we

worked with in the film who worked on the film with us in various different departments and they really gave us an incredible insight into a story that they have been sort of suppressing to the outside world and have had kept insular in their community because it was so incredibly traumatizing and it was and it’s still a raw nerve to them it’s a it’s a generational the effects of the Osage reign of terror has been generational and it still exists today there in Oklahoma FUSION: and what about your co star Lily Gladstone performance as Mollie ?

I felt her at moments living as Mollie she embodied that character she took on the soul of this woman and embraced herself into the Osage community once again being from a different tribe going to the Osage community listening to that story speaking to her direct descendants and just embodied and in every moral fiber of her being who Mollie was and expressed it through her performance in a very profound way she’s the heart and soul of this movie she really is FUSION: What do you think draws Mollie to Ernest and the Osage?

Scorsese: Now as part of a family with several valuable shares they called it headrights of oil profits and lots of land they had to Ernest was you know probably encouraged to marry her by his uncle in order to get her families headrights which gave him access to and control over her shares in the oil profits but I think Ernest is also attracted to the Osage

We were invited to the WEC 2023 Fuji Speedway, and it will be our first time at a major motorsports event.

It’s true that more and more people are attending motor sports events like F1 races and Daytona each year, and that these experiences have changed my perspective and made me fall in love with the sport. However, if you haven’t had the chance to check out WEC, I think you should rethink twice and come nevertheless because there’s so much to see and experience.

I’ve never been to anything like this before, and just knowing that I’ll be a part of it is incredible. But as I made my way deeper into the Fuji Speedway arena, I realized that I was going to have the time of my life there, getting an unprecedented look inside the World Endurance Championship.

This week marks the 6 Hours of Fuji, the last race of the 2023 FIA WEC season, which

is being held at the Fuji International Speedway near the world-famous Mount Fuji

in Japan. The Fuji International Speedway, located 100 kilometers west of Tokyo, is

the shortest track on the WEC schedule at 4.563 kilometers, and 36 cars will compete on it.

Hypercars can achieve speeds of almost 320 kilometers per hour

THE VIEW FROM FUIJI SPEEDWAY the tour for the helicopter that gave you a great view from Fuji Speedway was something I needed to reconsider because I‘m definitely afraid of heights, but something came over me and I decided that it‘s a once in a lifetime opportunity to look at such beautiful scenery from the Speedway and Shizuoka Japan and there were definitely no regrets. It‘s difficult to describe in words or photographs how amazing and breathtaking it was to see all of the race drivers driving around and competing while you‘re so high in the air. It‘s definitely one of those things that you should definitely experience if you have the chance.

for most of you that don’t know about this amazing organization let me break it down for you The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) is the official world championship for sports cars. As a newcomer, the more than 30 cars and the long races may seem a little unfamiliar. To give you an easy introduction, This season’s races vary from six hours at Spa-Francorchamps, Portimao, Fuji, and Monza to eight hours at Bahrain or Sebring and 24 hours at Le Mans. This allows for the development of a true plan and places a high demand on the teams. Cars that start on pole or are fast early in the race do not always have to be at the front later in the race. This is owing, in part, to the fact that the time span allows for significant weather and temperature swings. Another element is relinquishing control of the vehicle to a colleague. The racing plan is the key to success.

The ruleset is another crucial aspect of the WEC. Sports car racing, including the FIA World Endurance Championship, has always had looser rules than other series. Many factory teams in the top division use hybrid technology in addition to conventional combustion engines. On the other side, normally aspirated engines are used by private teams to keep expenses down. In LMP2, chassis and engine choices are limited to help keep costs down. To guarantee that all GTE Am cars are competitive on the circuit, a Balance of Performance system is used.

We did had the opportunity to chat with a few race drivers, including Ferrari, Iron Dames, and Corvette. Let’s have a look at these interviews to hear from the drivers themselves on the enthusiasm and hard work it takes to compete in the WEC’s six-hour race.

Hello I‘m James colado and I drive for Ferrari #51 car FUSION: The race was tight, but Toyota eventually came out on top. What did you predict to happen today?

James: Today‘s expectations were pretty much where we finished we finished in P4 and P5 we knew before the race that it would be a bit tricky because Fuji is a very tight twisty circuit that doesn‘t suit our car so well our car is designed more for tracks like lemons so yeah we scored some points but obviously we‘re disappointed not to be a bit better than where we were we have a lot of work to finish the end of this year!What were the expectations today, considering that you did not win the race and that it was a tight call, but Toyota won?

FUSION: You won the Le Mans race, which was hosted in France, and you did such an excellent job in securing that victory, so what is your current focus?

James: So after 50 years, we returned to Le Mans and won the big one, which was truly an amazing achievement for us and the team. Obviously, coming here and finishing fifth isn‘t the same result, but as I said, you take it race by race and we continue to push, so for a first year in general, I think we‘ve done an amazing job as a team.

FUSION: Let‘s chat about what new emphasis you‘d want to focus on for the next races.

James: So after this weekend I think we‘ll head back to Maranello, study, and try to improve the car, setup for Bahrain, the final race of the season; we‘re currently third in the championship, so yeah, the goal is to try to stay in third and be on the podium by the end; however, we still need to study, keep working, and attempt to improve the car, as this is only our first year in the championship after so long.

FUSION: You were on Fuji Speedway today, talk about today‘s event, so many people were out there waiting for autographs and photographs with you all, how was the experience for you and your team?

James: So being at Fuji is always a fantastic experience, and the crowds are simply incredible. I love Japanese people because they‘re so friendly and they support Ferrari not just Toyota, so thank

FERRARI WINS LE MANS AFTER 50 YEARS The Italian automaker Ferrari returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a 50-year hiatus, and while the company hasn’t had much to celebrate in Formula One recently, they did it with a bang.

Among the other two legs of the “Triple Crown,” the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans is one of the most prestigious races in all of racing.

The team with the most laps at the end of the 24-hour period is declared the winner.

After such a historic victory in the Le Mans race, the team must be at the top of their game to continue producing victories. Since this triumph occurred so recently, supporters are pumped up and eager to see what comes next.

From the year 2023 on, the Ferrari 499P will be the top-tier Le Mans Hypercar competing in the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship. The Prancing Horse has always designated their prototypes with a ‘P,’ where the numbers before the ‘P’ indicate the engine’s nominal displacement.

The idea for this automobile came from decades ago. As of now, the red squad has won 22 world championships and 9 overall victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In honor of Ferrari’s final works entry 50 years ago, the 499P will make its premiere at the 1000 Miles of Sebring in March with a livery evocative of the famous 312P from the 1970s. In addition to 50, one of Maranello’s endurance cars will sport 51, one of the team’s most successful racing numbers to date.

Ferrari has a very immaculate image, and everybody who associates with it always feels good to possess a Ferrari automobile.

James: It is genuinely fantastic to be a part of Ferrari. I‘m always grateful to be a part of the biggest brand in motorsport, one of the most successful brands, and you know to get championship wins in GT and to win them on outright is something absolutely amazing it was always a dream when I was a boy so yeah we‘ll continue to try and get more wins more championships and yeah it‘s the best team.

FUSION: How do you feel about the racing sector being increasingly engaged in Hollywood films?

James yeah, there‘s a lot more recognition in in in endurance racing and Lamont especially after our win, and I think there will be a few films few books made definitely in the future, which really brings the crowd this year especially we‘ve seen so many more people so much more support at every race, and I think the championship is growing in an in a good way.

FUSION What motivates you to keep racing, and how do you keep yourself fueled and inspired for all the races you enter?

James I think that winning is the biggest part of this sport that we do, that‘s why we do it, you know to cross the line to contain the checkered flag first is always the most amazing emotion, and I think you know that‘s why we continue to work so hard, and of course the speed of these cars is phenomenal, so yeah i I love my job.

My name is NICKY CATSBURG. I'm a driver for the 33 Corvette racing team, and we have won the championship, so I'm really delighted to be here in Fuji, hoping for a nice outcome here as well, but we can already call ourselves Champions.

FUSION: Please tell us a little bit about yourself for our readers who are reading this.

How did you get your start in this industry?

NICKY: I didn't start racing in go karts until I was 15, but cars had always been a passion of mine growing up; my family owned a car dealership, so I got plenty of practice behind the wheel at a young age. But it wasn't until I was 15 or 16 that I began seriously pursuing motorsports, and it took a while for me to realize that I had a talent for it.

FUSION: Discuss your driving experiences, including hurdles, blunders, and challenges.

NICKY: well, when you make mistakes on the racetrack, you try to learn from them. Our team, including the engineers who work behind the scenes,

collects all the data we need to figure out where, what, and why something went wrong.

From there, we work to improve our processes and our cars so that we can avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

FUSION: For newcomers to coming into the racing scene, and how do what can you share on getting started? What if someone wants to do this and join the motosport what can they expect?

NICKY: I absolutely love being a race car driver it's my dream job and the atmosphere here on the race tracks especially in Japan is amazing so we feel very privileged to be doing this job and I'm I'm very happy to be able to travel the world and visit places like Japan this is actually one of my favorite places to go to Fuji is a really nice race track but I love the country I love the culture I love the people and I cannot wait to go back.

FUSION: How does it feel to be a member of the Corvette family and a racer, and how does it compare to all competitors?

NICKY: It's been a lifelong dream of mine to race for the legendary Corvette, and now that the opportunity has presented itself, I couldn't be happier to be a part of this incredible team. I've already won the Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours with Corvette, and I'm confident we'll continue to rack up more victories in the future.

FUSION: What does it mean to you that race culture is spreading to Hollywood and that more films on motorsports are being produced?

NICKY: Yes, we're seeing more and more of Motorsports on TV, of course, with the F1 drive through survive on Netflix recently, as well as the GT Academy Nissan movie, so it's great that it's getting more exposure, and we're all very glad to be a part of it. I loved seeing this latest movie because I was there when young Martin bro was doing his first races out there on track and making a name for himself and it's very cool that it's getting the attention that it deserves now so I can only applaud and promote it and I would love for there to be even more movies around so I can't wait to see us more on TV.

FUSION: Discuss your sources of inspiration and what keeps you motivated to achieve what you do.

NICKY: Yeah, so my inspirations have always been race car drivers who have had very long careers and do multiple things, you know in the Netherlands you have a driver you won't Blake Mullin who has always had a career that I kind of dreamed of doing all the big races and winning them as well you know you don't have to make it to F1 to have a good career so I'm very happy with where I'm at right now doing all the big GT races in the world and it always motivates me FUSION What's next for you, what are you focusing on today, and what can we anticipate from you and Corvette in the next days?

NICKY: So, Nico Veron, Ben Keating, and I won the title this year. Yeah, we basically had the dream season we started with a win in Sebring and another win in Portimo and a second place in Spa a win in Le Man and now we're in Fuji we finished before that was our worst result of the season but we did win the championship with that so we've had a dream season I mean those guys have

done a perfect job and it was very enjoyable for me to work with them so now we have two races left the race here in Fuji and the race in Bahrain FUSION: What recommendations would you provide to someone who wishes to try their hand at driving?

NICKY: Yeah, I would tell anyone who wants to go into motorsport to keep chasing their dreams because it's not going to be easy because motorsport, especially in the beginning, is an expensive sport that requires some support and it's not easy to make a start but if you can dream it, you can do it and you know it wasn't easy for me either because I had many times where I thought OK, I might have to stop now but keep trying and asking all your local companies and friends and family to supoort you!

FUSION: What does it mean to you to be a part of the WEC's 6-hour Fuji speedway?

NICKY: As a driver, it's a dream come true to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The competition is fierce, the manufacturers are all present, and the events take place in breathtaking locations around the globe.

ichelle Gatting is a Danish racing driver. We had the opportunity to chat with her about her views about the races, what she plans to achieve in the near future, and the challenges she confronts as she enters the Motorsports sector.

Michelle: My name is Michelle Gatting, I am 29 years old, I am from Denmark, and I am a professional racing driver for the project Iron Dames. I started racing when I was seven years old, more or less by chance, when I tried a go Kart on a holiday in the South of France and fell in love with it.

I essentially told my parents that I wanted to be a racing driver, and they were like, OK, I suppose we have to accept that, but here I am, almost 20 years later, or slightly more than 20 years later, being a professional racing driver.

FUSION: What motivates you as a professional driver?

Michelle: I’m the type of person who is full of stubbornness and willingness you know I’m not the type of person who comes from a family where my family has been supporting my racing since I started our beloved sport that we love to do so much and wish we could basically do every day is a very expensive sport and that’s where it makes it very difficult unfortunately for a lot of drivers and so it did for me because yeah you need to be able to sell yourself.

At the end of the day, you need a lot of money to be able to raise and the higher you go in rankings championships cars whatever the more expensive it is but of course all racing drivers if you walk through the paddock here and ask the drivers they’re all either trying to achieve becoming professional being paid drivers or at least trying to achieve not paying to race I mean this is the goal for mainly all race drivers but yeah it’s one of the challenges

FUSION: Did you ever take a step back and wonder if this career route was right for you, or have you taken some steps back and thought you may doubt yourself as a professional driver?

Michelle: I had to ask myself a million times if I really wanted to keep going because so many times I wasn’t given opportunities because I didn’t come with the money that was needed. But I knew deep down that I had to tell him, because whenever I was given the chance to test in a certain car with a certain team, I was always proving myself, showing potential.

I mean, there were a lot of times when I wanted to give up, and that’s why this project’s slogan is women driven by dreams, and we’re always telling the young girls and young drivers to never give up. It’s very cliche to tell someone don’t give up, keep fighting, but in the end, every one of the iron dames has been through a career where we had to stop racing for a season because they didn’t have money, we didn’t have sponsors.

We had to battle our way through, and we had to hear people say, “You don’t have what it takes, you’ll never get there,” so all of those people who said you’d never get there are the reason I’m here today.

FUSION: As a woman, how do you feel about this business being dominated by men in Motorsports, where do you see yourself fitting

in, and what are your goals for the future?

Michelle Yeah, it’s a male-dominated sport, especially when I started in it 20 years ago, a little more than 20 years ago, there was really no space for girls all women in this sport you had to prove yourself and i think the same can be said today, we still still have to prove ourselves every time we go in the car because at the end of the day the only way of gaining respect and I think that doesn’t matter if it’s motorsport or whatever it is if it’s in business first to gain respect The lap times we set will demonstrate that whenever we’re in a race with another driver, whether they’re trying to overtake us or we’re trying to overtake them, we put our elbows out to show that we’re not going to make it easy for them, and of course, whenever they see the pink car, they know it’s one of the three girls driving.

I think with the years that we’ve done as this project, first and foremost trying to inspire a lot of girls but people in general because that’s been the whole goal of the project is to inspire people and we’ve done that by making results in the end by winning championships by winning races by making pole positions and in the end I think walking through the paddock here asking what people think about this project if they think of us as oh it’s the girls or if they think of us as

Michelle: We feel very well respected, but it took a long time, a lot of fights, and a lot of times where we needed to prove ourselves, and I think for every girl out there, whatever they’re doing, it’s always about proving how hard you’re working and showing your competitors’ side. All those things that are required in order to perform to produce results and then every time you are in the game or at the track or on the court or whatever you just give it everything and when the game is over you can say to yourself I did everything I could today maybe it wasn’t enough but I will try again next time and this is what drives us.

FUSION: How does it feel to be at the WEC race in Fuji, and what thoughts do you have now that you’re here?

Michelle I’m very proud to be here and there in the fair world indoor championship. It’s the highest level of endurance championship that you can race in, and we’ve been here for a few years now. This year, we were fighting to win the championship until we were defeated by our, shall we say, toughest competitor, Corvette. We still have a shot at the title of “whatwise world champion,” and we still have a shot at finishing second in the championship (of which we are obviously proud), but we are not yet satisfied with either result. Tomorrow, we will start the race from second place, and we are eager to finally take home the championship trophy.

FUSION: When this race is complete, what are you planning to do next?

Michelle When asked why they are so dedicated to racing, drivers often say things like, “Well, the season isn’t over yet, so there are still more races to go;” “When you ask us, basically our whole life goes around racing;” “When the season is over, we prepare for the next season;” “We know we can’t be racing forever, and that’s one key thing; you can’t be racing until you’re old and gray.”

FUSION: I was wondering what words of wisdom you would have for women who are interested in pursuing this line of work or who are attempting to make it in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Michelle It’s important to have family support; one of the things

that helped me succeed was the encouragement of my loved ones, who told me, “Look, we know it’s going to be tough, and it was tough, and it still is tough, but you can do this.”

Then it will be simpler to enter because there will be moments when you’ll think, “No, this isn’t for me, and maybe it’s not for you,” but at least if you have this eagerness inside of you that you want to give it a try, all I can say is “Go for it, try it out, and see how it goes.” because sometimes you will be surprised and yeah this board can be scary because at the end of the day we’re driving race cars and going super fast and of course if speed is not for you then for sure it’s an it’s difficult but it’s really something that you get addicted to I tell you.

OUR FINAL THOUGHTS The experience at WEC in Fuji Japan is one of those events that you do not want to miss, if you are new to motor sports and have never thought about going to one of these events it def should be a must and you should take your family to see this exciting event everyone will have a good time to see the races it gives you this rush of excitment just being there We truly believe that these types of events are worth your time to attend and that they provide a whole new perspective on the races. It’s great to watch them on TV and have a good time, but being there in person provides a different feeling because you can look at the race cars, meet your favorite race drivers, and get autographs.

It’s such a terrific vibe that you leave the event feeling motivated and eager to attend many more WEC events that you want to attend. I believe that this event will only grow in popularity year after year, with an increasing number of spectators realizing how much pleasure it is to attend a WEC event.

FUSION: How does it feel to be back in Japan after so many years of working in the music business as a music producer?

What are your thoughts and feelings at the moment when you unexpectedly found yourself in Japan?

Alex: I LOVE coming here. Japan was amongst the very firsts nations outside of Germany to book me when I first began releasing on my own label.

The culture here for vinyl and turntablism is serious and it always felt that music is important to the lapanese people and they have a very distinct taste and interest. I played my first gig here a long time ago at a Techno club called Yellow and my friends who are actually here with me today booked me back then and ever since I have returned basically every year once or twice and travelled the country back every year once or twice and traveled the country.

It always feels great coming, it never gets old, I love the people, I love the culture, I looove the food :).

FUSION: Since you've been one of electronic music's pioneers for quite some time, I was

wondering how you stay inspired to push forward in a field where so many DJs seem to play the same songs over and over again and listeners eventually grow tired of hearing the same songs played over and over again.

Alex: In my line of work as a DJ, music is both my inspiration and my primary source of motivation. I'm always on the lookout for fresh tracks, whether they're underground gems or mainstream hits, since I want to keep my audience on the edge of their seats.

I can play to both impress the crowd and advance my set, but ultimately, it's all about the music. If I were a DJ who only played one genre of music, I'd get bored and stop enjoying my job. If I were a music producer, I wouldn't be able to focus on a single genre.

I don't want to repeat myself anyhow, and when it comes to production and records, I typically think that the records that I play from other artists I love them all, and every week it could vary you know one or two songs here and there.

But why would I make that music?

Someone has already made those records, so when it comes to my own music, I just feel like I've got to make something that doesn't quite exist in a way, and if I'm excited by the sounds, then it just comes out naturally.

FUSION: I was wondering what it takes to be on top of your game as a producer and musician nowadays, and how you deal with the obstacles you always encounter.

ALEX: Honestly, I don´t feel much difficulty or obstacles really, if there´s one thing it would be the dimension of social media engagement. Coming from house and techno. things were completely reverse, you could drop records without having to sign up for a million different social networking sites, without having to post yourself continously When I first started. it was on vinyl. I was working at a record store at the time and I would simply locate records and not see any advertising for the musicians that would produce

electronic music. You would not see people's faces on underground E.P's or albums ever. You didnt know anything about the producers or how they looked, it had a kind of a mystery to it and that was one reason I started to enjoy this because I wanted to be somewhere where I didn't have to put my face out there.

I think there's a lot of producers and musicians especially in the more underground scene that would also enjoy not having to care about promoting yourself and instead focus on the music rather than how you sell yourself.

FUSION: In the past, I know you liked working hard and not naming names with the people you worked with, and I am sure you work with a lot of big names and up and coming people, and the fans who have been listening to you since day one can agree that your skill is extremely amazing, so has your mind changed about who you work with and how you promote yourself ALEX: It all comes down to your personality I guess, at the end of the day, I'm just being myself. I'm not the guy who likes to talk about lot of things, dropping names and all that kind of stuff. I stay to myself and I stay focused on my music. I learnt that you have to follow your heart and if you don't feel something, that's ok, and if you do, that's fine too.

You don't have to be judgmental about anyone that does things different than you, you should just strive to be yourself as much as possible.

FUSION: You've just collaborated on new music with Skrillex, but this isn't the first time you've done so, and you two have a very great connection and link with each other,

but let's talk about this new music you've developed and how it came about.

ALEX: Yes, so Sonny (Skrillex) and I make music all the time, we just create constantly and whenever we see each other it´s a great vibe. We have a lot of unreleased music and that one time he was in Berlin and I was on a plane to play a show in Glasgow I think. I was going through records and samples and found that acapella. I instantly flipped it into a record and I played it that same night during my set and it went totally went off. When I came back to Berlin I told Sonny (Skrillex) about it and he was like lets do it together. He made the track really insane and altered it a lot.

Sonny was working on this album at that time and first we were considering to add it to his LP but it didnt feel 100% right. So we waited until after his album release and when the summer finally arrived we decided it was time to drop it and here we are FUSION: Do you prefer writing music in the studio, or do you enjoy being on tour and performing live?

ALEX: I enjoy both just as much. No doubt the travel part is exhausting, its a common phrase among us DJs that you are paid to travel. But I love performing, its where I get my energy from, from the people, the music, seeing new places, it is the greatest.

When I'm out there and I see others smiling and having a good time, that's when I feel the happiest and most at ease with myself FUSION: Is there anything else in the horizon for you?

ALEX: Yes there´s lots of new stuff in the pipeline. I just dropped a new track with my buddy VTSS called „Steady Pace“. She´s a wonderful friend who used to live in Berlin and is now based out of London, Amazing Techno Party Crazy DJ. We did a few shows back to back lately and the single came together so quickly and so well, we had lots of fun creating it.

I can play to both impress the crowd and advance my set, but ultimately, it's all about the music.

ALEX: The people and how great and how much love and respect they have for each other, you know that feeling you have with your friends here or going out there, it's so unique, within the entire world it's just such a special place and it's got a special place in my heart as well.
