This unique annual publication, along with our popular website, is a community focused project proudly produced by FUSE Magazine — Canberra's local LGBTIQ+ publication for over seventeen years. The LGBTIQ DIRECTORY has been created in response to the identification that LGBTIQ+ people in Canberra and surrounding regions need a central place to find support, community and business pathways. We aim not just to provide a directory but also to encourage and promote rich and fulfilling lives in our community. We hope it inspires you to explore new opportunities and connections. LGBTIQ DIRECTORY PARTNER A GENDER AGENDA A Gender Agenda (AGA) is a peer-based community organisation that works with, and advocates for intersex, trans and gender diverse people.
GENDER PATHWAYS Gender Pathways (formerly The Friday Centre) is a peer navigation service that aims to assist trans and gender diverse communities with information and referrals to support their social, legal and medical transition.
A Gender Agenda aims to support the goals and needs of the intersex, transgender and gender diverse communities of Canberra and the surrounding region. Through training and education, advocacy, peer support, resources and professional networks, we connect people to each other and build off the wisdom of collective experiences. For over ten years, AGA has represented a gold standard of TGD+I support that is unique in Australia. AGA delivers intersex, trans and gender diverse training and education in our local community, to build capacity and to help reduce barriers and discrimination for intersex, trans and gender diverse people. AGA provides consultation to many workplaces, including government and non-government organisations, offers information and support for schools and students, and collaborates with other professionals who closely support the intersex, trans and gender diverse community. AGA's Calendar of Events has a variety of community happenings ranging from workshops and discussion groups to weekly drop-in sessions, and regular youth and family groups. AGA also offers a wide range of relevant up to date resources that can support trans, gender diverse and intersex peoples, their families and allies, as well as the wider community.

We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, sexualities, gender identities and expressions. Our programs offer opportunities to meet people, explore your interests, access support and take part in community life. We listen to participants and use their experiences, feedback and ideas to shape what we do. We have a proud long-standing history of delivering a diverse range of community services and making significant positive contributions to the Canberra community. LGBTIQ DIRECTORY PARTNER MERIDIAN Meridian is Canberra’s largest HIV and LGBTQ+ community-controlled organisation, championing health, dignity and justice for our communities. Grounded in the lives, leadership and aspirations of the communities we serve, we look towards a future where our communities thrive: healthy and well, free from stigma, empowered by peer connection and supported by a just and inclusive society. OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to improving health and wellbeing for our diverse communities. Our multi-disciplinary team members harness lived experience and blend it with evidence-informed practices to deliver impactful, person-centred programs and services. HIV SERVICES At Meridian’s core is the mission to end HIV transmission and serve people living with HIV until there is a cure for everyone. We promote HIV prevention, awareness, relevant research programs and the HIV/AIDS commemoration initiative. The experience of living with HIV today is more diverse than ever. Whatever HIV means for Canberrans living with HIV, Meridian will be there when they need it with tailored services to improve their health and wellbeing. SEXUAL HEALTH We can help you take control of your sexual health, with information, workshops, clinics and a range of support services to arm you with the knowledge and resources you need to keep your sex life happy and healthy. MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING We provide a non-judgemental, trauma-informed and compassionate environment for diverse Canberrans to safely access quality mental health care. Our multi-disciplinary mental health and wellbeing team provides free psychology, counselling and peer navigation services for people impacted by HIV, LGBTQ+ people and sex workers. We also deliver regular wellbeing group activities.

SEX WORKER OUTREACH The Sex Worker Outreach Program (SWOP) ACT is a sex worker-led program hosted by Meridian that provides peer-led education, drop-in, outreach and advocacy for sex workers. HEALTHY AGEING Our Care Finder services and Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme focus on reducing isolation and loneliness, and fostering connections, respect and understanding. We are particularly committed to addressing the needs of older LGBTQ+ people, who face unique challenges, barriers and vulnerabilities. TRAINING Meridian is a leader in inclusive workplace training and education, offering programs on LGBTQ+ awareness, HIV education and aged care inclusivity, run by skilled educators and community members. Our courses give participants practical knowledge and skills to deliver LGBTQ+ inclusive and competent services. COMMUNITY CONNECTION We host regular and one-off events that celebrate the rich diversity within our communities, and build and strengthen peer networks that foster belonging, reduce isolation and create safe and accessible spaces. We also host the Canberra Pride Hub, which offers a free, safe and inclusive meeting space for local LGBTQ+ community groups, organisations and services. Offering clinical appointments, education sessions, training courses and disability services, we are dedicated to improving the sexual and reproductive health of the Canberra Community. From guiding you through the expected changes during puberty to STI tests, reproductive health, and the winddown of desire, we are there for you throughout your whole sexual and reproductive journey. Our multidisciplinary team works hand in hand to deliver specialised clinical and educational services while also promoting the importance of healthy relationships.
