MEET THE DREAM CATCHERS
Dream Catchers started when Des Moines native and founder, Tricia Rivas, being inspired while volunteering. Rivas would use her skills as a licensed beauty professional, along with her salon’s staff, to volunteer with Hospice of Central Iowa, the local women’s shelter, and even support local veterans. After seeing how this time affected the people served, she saw a need. After researching other foundations around the US, she set out in 2013 to create her own foundation where beauty professionals would lend their talents to support those with terminal or chronic illnesses and their caregivers. With the help of other passionate Des Moines area community leaders, the the idea became a reality and Dream Catchers began in 2015.
