FOR U.S. CONGRESS PA 1st District

Nina Ahmad is a bold progressive, first generation American, scientist, former President of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Organization for Women who recently resigned as the Deputy Mayor for the City of Philadelphia to run for Congress. In Congress, Ahmad will take on Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric against women, people of color and immigrants; support-data driven policies to improve healthcare, address climate change; and have honest conversations about racism and sexism.

Data-Driven Policies - In Congress, Nina Ahmad will use her experience as a scientist & medical researcher to support data-driven policies to address climate change, improve healthcare & strengthen environmental regulations to keep our families safe.

Progressive Civic Leadership - Nina Ahmad is one of the few women of color to ever serve on the board of the Philadelphia Foundation that grant millions of dollars to local non-profits aimed at fighting poverty & educating young people. She was an organizer for Howard Dean’s insurgent Presidential campaign, a delegate for President Barack Obama, and she took on the political machine in Philadelphia by training and recruiting more political outsiders to serve as committee-members.

Nina Ahmad has been a voice for every community in Philadelphia, overseeing the Commission for Women, the Office of Black Male Engagement, and the Youth commission, and has worked closely with the office of L-G-B-T Affairs to ensure these communities are supported. Ahmad has also served as a member of President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
