If I were to tell my 6 month ago self what a beautiful issue Volume IV would be, I’d have no idea I meant to this extent. The vulnerability, inspiration, creativity, and different minds that have come together to make the 4th issue of Funeral Parade come to life has me feeling beyond fed. Funeral Parade is growing.. and growing.. and growing. And, more and more of you kooky art kids are using it for what it’s meant/ a place to throw yourself into. (Cue the butterflies) We plan to continue supporting the concept of pushing boundaries, breaking self-imposed limitations, and tearing down walls with each step forward on this parade of life. And, for those yet to speak up, whats the hold up? Get out of your comfort zones!

Fo r exa mp le , i f s t u d y i ng His tor y th ere are 2 00 h undred new st ud e nt s e n te r i n g e a c h ye a r , i n th e A r t academ y , in one s pecialty (whicheve r yo u c h o o s e – p a i n t i n g , pr intm aking, s culpture, fas h ion, A r t histo ry, i n te r i o r d e s i g n ) t h e re are 12 or 10 or les s s tudents per ye a r, p e r spe c i a lt y . W h i c h me a n s we know each oth er . We live at one b uil d ing.

I’ ve th o u g h t a lot w h i c h o n e is m y favor ite but I ’m not s ure if I can c h o o se o n e - n ot b e c a u s e of th e way th ey look but becaus e of wh a t eve ry si n g le o n e m e a n s to me. T h e “ Red dotted bunny ” is one of my favori tes b e c a u s e w i t h i t , a lot h appened wh ich h elped m e get th rough on e ve ry lo n g s u mm e r , i t a ls o gave m e a ch ance to h ave m y ar t on fash ion p i e c e s .

It al l bega n o n e d a y w h e n I woke up. I h ad th is im age in m y m ind of a h u m a n d re s s e d a s a ra bbit; a wh ite bunny with red polka dots.

I m an ag e d to c re a te i t exa ctly as I h ad im agined it; wh ich does n’t h appe n ve r y ofte n . W h e n I draw s om eth ing I rarely h ave th e exact idea bu t m o re s o a fe e li n g , th es e em otions I need to get out of m e.

Ever yone, or at least m o st peo p le , t h i n k i t ’ s a h u m an dres s ed as a bunny but if you take off th e co s t u m e yo u ’ ll s t i ll h ave th e ears , th e weird s tar ing eyes and th e fe e l ing i t c a r r i e s w i t h i t .

I wan te d to p a r t i c i p a te i n t h e “ M ona” exh ibition becaus e I h ave a dee p appre c i at i o n fo r c la s s i c a l a rt.
