2025 ANNUAL REPORT
A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Change is an inevitable and healthy part of life. It’s how we grow and learn, and right now, our public schools are going through incredible change. This year, we said goodbye to a beloved Superintendent and hello to a new leader with a bright new vision. Changes in federal policies and institutions shook local families and left the future of key educational initiatives uncertain. Growth in our community increased the demands on our schools and teachers, stretching resources thinner than ever before. And our own team at the Fund for Public Education began a major transition.
Each of these changes is an opportunity for growth, for increased community involvement, and for the advent of fresh, new ideas.
On the following pages, you’ll see celebrations of another amazing year in our public schools, but you’ll also see the first steps of a new path forward. In 2024 the Fund for Public Education began the work that will take us into a new era as Teton County’s school foundation. We held listening sessions across our community, reaching out to both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking families to learn what they need most. We expanded our team, enabling us to improve access to key programs. And we fostered close partnerships with organizations in the community so that we can better leverage our resources to serve kids and families.
In addition to these exciting changes, we also begin our search for the Fund’s next leader. When our executive director, Jennifer Jellen, joined us in 2019, the Fund for Public Education was a small partner managing a handful of annual donations to the schools. In partnership with the Board, she set about reshaping the organization into a full-scale philanthropic partner for Teton County School District #1. During her tenure, she launched key whole-child wellness programs, consolidated and grew school fundraising efforts, and oversaw the expansion of the Teton County Scholarship Program. All total, she and her team raised more than $7 million for our schools.
As Jennifer leaves us for new adventures, we have launched a national search for our next leader who can carry on this important work. We invite you to join us on this journey of growth and change as we usher in the next phase for the Fund for Public Education and Jackson Hole’s public schools.

THE FUND FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION is Jackson Hole’s nonprofit school foundation.
We raise funds and provide programmatic support for all 10 public schools, 3,000 local students, and more than 500 district teachers and staff.
Fostering Connection. Breaking Down Barriers to Access.
Did you know that as many of 40% of students in Teton County School District rely on wellness support services at school? But accessing these services can be tough for families for a variety of reasons including social stigma, language or literacy barriers, time management, or even just a misunderstanding of who these services are for.
The Fund for Public Education, in partnership with TCSD, is working to break down these barriers. With the support of a grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, we’re launching a three-year initiative to ensure that every child has easy access to the services and support they need.

SPOTLIGHT: AVID
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), is a TCSD program that fosters learning and self-empowerment through a safe and open culture, high expectations for teachers and students, and collaborative classrooms. The Fund for Public Education is proud to support AVID teachers and students.
DID YOU KNOW? 100% of TCSD’s 2025 AVID graduates were admitted to a four-year college or university. Collectively they were offered more than $3 million is scholarships.

Each year the Teton County Scholarship Program awards more than $1 million to graduating seniors from our community. The Fund for Public Education administers the program in partnership with TCSD, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole and more than 60 organizations and individuals who sponsor the awards.

IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF BERTE HIRSCHFIELD
On behalf of our entire board, staff, and community, we would like to take a moment to remember Berte Hirschfield with love and gratitude. A long-time supporter of Teton County’s public schools, Berte championed programs that supported kids and families. She provided meals for thousands of students in need, gave families relief from school lunch debt, and pioneered programs that not only support kids, but change their lives. Our Feeding the Whole program is only one of the many wonderful legacies Berte leaves. Please reach out to someone in need with a moment of kindness and support, and remember Berte.

FOCO DE ATENCIÓN: PROGRAMA DE BECAS DEL CONDADO DE TETON
Cada año, el Programa de Becas del Condado de Teton otorga más de un millón de dólares a estudiantes de último año de nuestra comunidad. El Fondo para la Educación Pública administra el programa en colaboración con el TCSD, la Fundación Comunitaria de Jackson Hole y más de 60 organizaciones e individuos que patrocinan los premios.
¿SABÍAN? El 100% de los graduados del programa AVID de TCSD en 2025 fueron admitidos en una universidad de cuatro años. En conjunto, recibieron más de $3 millones en becas.

¿Sabían que hasta el 40% de los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Teton dependen de los servicios de apoyo para el bienestar en la escuela? Sin embargo, acceder a estos servicios puede ser difícil para las familias por diversas razones, como el estigma social, las barreras lingüísticas o de alfabetización, la gestión del tiempo o incluso la simple incomprensión de a quiénes están dirigidos.
El Fondo para la Educación Pública, en colaboración con el TCSD, trabaja para derribar estas barreras. Con el apoyo de una subvención de la Fundación Comunitaria de Jackson Hole, lanzamos una iniciativa trienal para garantizar que todos los niños tengan fácil acceso a los servicios y el apoyo
Recaudamos fondos y brindamos apoyo programático para las 10 escuelas públicas, 3,000 estudiantes locales y más de 500 líderes y personal del distrito.

UN MENSAJE DE NUESTRA JUNTA DIRECTIVA
El cambio es una parte inevitable y saludable de la vida. Es la forma en que crecemos y aprendemos, y ahora mismo, nuestras escuelas públicas están experimentando cambios increíbles. Este año, despedimos a una querida Superintendente y dimos la bienvenida a un nuevo líder con una visión renovada y brillante. Los cambios en las políticas e instituciones federales impactaron a las familias locales y dejaron en la incertidumbre el futuro de iniciativas educativas clave. El crecimiento de nuestra comunidad incrementó las exigencias a nuestras escuelas y maestros, agotando los recursos más que nunca. Y nuestro propio equipo en el Fondo para la Educación Pública inició una importante transición.
Cada uno de estos cambios es una oportunidad para crecer, para una mayor participación de la comunidad y para el surgimiento de ideas nuevas y frescas.
En las siguientes páginas, verán las celebraciones de otro año extraordinario en nuestras escuelas públicas, pero también los primeros pasos de un nuevo camino hacia adelante. En 2024, el Fondo para la Educación Pública inició el trabajo que nos llevará a una nueva era como la fundación escolar del Condado de Teton. Organizamos sesiones de escucha en toda nuestra comunidad, contactando a familias angloparlantes e hispanohablantes para conocer sus necesidades más importantes. Ampliamos nuestro equipo, lo que nos permitió mejorar el acceso a programas clave. Y fomentamos estrechas colaboraciones con organizaciones de la comunidad para aprovechar mejor nuestros recursos y servir a los niños y las familias.
Además de estos emocionantes cambios, también comenzamos la búsqueda del próximo líder del Fondo. Cuando nuestra directora ejecutiva, Jennifer Jellen, se unió a nosotros en 2019, el Fondo para la Educación Pública era un socio pequeño que gestionaba unas pocas donaciones anuales a las escuelas. En colaboración con la Junta Directiva, se dedicó a transformar la organización en un socio filantrópico integral para el Distrito Escolar del Condado de Teton No. 1. Durante su gestión, lanzó programas clave de bienestar integral para niños, consolidó y expandió las iniciativas de recaudación de fondos escolares y supervisó la expansión del Programa de Becas del Condado de Teton. En total, ella y su equipo recaudaron más de 7 millones de dólares para nuestras escuelas.
Con Jennifer dejándonos para emprender nuevas aventuras, hemos iniciado una búsqueda nacional para encontrar a nuestro próximo líder que pueda continuar esta importante labor. Los invitamos a unirse a nosotros en este viaje de crecimiento y cambio mientras iniciamos la siguiente fase del Fondo para la Educación Pública y las escuelas públicas de Jackson Hole.
