The Second Battalion of hunters of New Granada, is now a force of about three hundred men from Marinilla, Medelln, Santa Fe de Antioquia and Rionegro. The royalists are forced to retreat to the slopes of Morro Chimborazo, in Alto de Cañaveral, where they are attacked headon by Manuel Dimas and more than a hundred of his men.
