All of us at Full Throttle Magazine Midwest would like to send a special thank you to Bobby’s Place for hosting our Toys for Tots toy drive. And to all of those who donated the prize giveaways, Doc’s Harley-Davidson, St. Charles Harley-Davidson, Mungenast Motorsports, Rick’s Roadrash, Bobby’s Place & Cycle Care, we could not have done this without your generostiy. And last but not least, for all of you that weathered to fridged temperatures to come out and donate all sorts of toys to help those children in need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Reservist on the weekends, but in his civilian life, he was a director of public relations for Warner Bros. Studios. Holding that position allowed him to reach out and convince an array of celebrities to support this foundation. In 1948 Walt Disney designed the logo that you still see today.

In the spirit of giving, I thought you might like to know just how Toys for Tots came to be. Here’s a little history for you.

Since then the Marine Corp Reserves have been conducting this campaign, collecting toys for boys and girls across the country. This program has distributed more that 313 million toys to 151 million children. In addition, the Marine Corp Toys for Tots Foundation has supplemented the collection of the local campaigns over 13-year life, providing more than 47.4 million toys valued at $243 million, plus promotion and support material value at $2.5 million.

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR, and a group of Marine Reservists. Bill first came up with the ideas when his wife hand made a Raggedy Ann doll, giving it to Bill, asking him to deliver it to an organization that helps needy children at Christmas. Bill complied but alas was not able to find one. His wife told him that he should start an organization that helps children in need at Christmas; so he did.

Celebrities supporting this great cause, such as Nat King Cole, Doris Day, Bob Hope, Lorrie Morgan, Tim Allen, Kenny Rogers, Billy Ray Cyrus and many more, were all to eager to lend a hand to help those children less fortunate.

In the year 2003 the Toys for Tots Foundation was deemed the most successful campaign in its 56 years of life. This campaign is conducted in over 456 communities, With the help of a group of Marine Reservist, in all Fifty states Bill was able to collect over 5000 toys within the Los including the Angles area and distribute then to the needy children. District of Columbia and Puerto Rico The fundraiser was such a success that in 1948, making this the most the Marine Corp adopted Toys for Tots and created extensive coverage a Nationwide campaign. The Marine Corp Reserve ever. For more units all across the US conducted a Toys for Tots information, you can campaign in each one of there communities where the visit their website at Marine Reserve Centers were located. www.toysfortots.org.

Black Quartz Hey everyone Seth from Doc’s HarleyDavidson bringing you this breath-taking Black Hills Gold and Black Quarts 2017 Road King with Harley-Davidson’s own Milwaukee 8 engine. This beauty was custom built for one of our guests James. When James first came to me he told me he wanted a completely chromed out show bike with chrome everywhere. First off we installed Harley-Davidsons chrome Enforcer wheels with matching chrome brake rotors riding on Harley’s chrome front end package. Lighting up the road on dark nights is Harley’s 7” chrome Day maker headlamp and matching auxiliary lights accented by a full collection of chrome visors. For the turn signals we’ve installed Custom Dynamics LED turn signals in the front and rear of the bike and to finish it off we installed Harley’s smoked laydown LED tail lamp. As for the instruments we’ve installed the speedo tach combo with the black back and color-changing LED accents. The last thing we’ve installed is the Harley-Davidson motor company timer and derby cover to tie everything together. If you like what we’ve done with this bike and want to see more bikes like this one come down to Doc’s Harley-Davidson open 7-days a week and ask for Seth Lowman and we can take your dream bike from your head and put it on the street.

elcome back once again Full throttle readers and riders! Hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season full of laughter, loved ones, and leftovers from the many festive feasts and gatherings. Our most unwelcomed guest Old Man Winter has finally arrived and is settling in for the long haul. Some of us charge through the cold winter air with the proper gear and a smile enjoying the winter riding season. Some break out the bike cover, fuel stabilizer, and battery tender to put the beast into hibernation. Then there are the others, those who can’t leave things well enough alone, the ones who choose to make a statement next riding season. Maybe it’s a statement of style or a declaration of power, it really doesn’t matter. We all have our own reason, and that one reason is to build our perception of what the perfect bike should be; our own. Yes, that’s right! The winter project people! Whether it be a tear down to refresh an old motor, or an upgrade to get those wheels turning faster! Maybe it’s simply style you want? Some fresh paint? A louder sound system? Pipes? It really only matters to the person behind those set of bars. That’s why we buy these beasts, as a reflection of who we are. This is about the time where I go into all the details of what you can do to your bike to make it better in whatever way you want. But this time it’s gonna be all about me! That’s right, I’m gonna take y’all on my own journey of building my ideal bike as I am in the process of doing so right now with the help of the team at St Charles Harley-Davidson!

As many of you know I was hit this summer on my beautiful 2007 Softail Springer Classic. I was lucky enough to walk away with only road rash and a broken heart as my beloved Springer was totaled. As the pain from both wore off I got right to the drawing board with ideas. Should I go old school again? Should I buy another Softial? If I’m buying another springer I promised myself it would be a true period correct Panhead and that’s just not in the cards or the budget right now. So what’s a rider to do? I already have a nimble Sportster in the stable so buying a Dyna wouldn’t make sense nor would the wifey be too happy with the ride. Was I really about to ask myself the question? Was I really going to think about buying a bike I always said I wouldn’t? Was I ready for a bagger? Was I going to get a touring bike? That’s in fact exactly what I did! With the new Milwaukee Eights out on the market I was intrigued but instead decided to go pre owned knowing full well I was just going to tear it down and make it my own anyway. I found a 2010 Harley-Davidson Road King Standard in flame blue pearl that ironically was previously owned by a good friend and client. The bike itself

was pretty much untouched and had low miles, only extras on it were a set of mufflers and some 16” ape hangers I had actually helped my friend with when he owned it. As I started going over all the changes I wanted it sunk in how far this tear down was going to go. I wanted this bike to be one I could have fun on, get down in the corners, ride all day with the lady but most importantly it had to turn heads. I loved my Springer but some of the upgrades I made, like the air ride and fishtails hindered the bank angle and ride-ability of the bike. The goal in mind here was to basically build a Swiss Army knife of motorcycles. A bike that could do it all but also look good doing it. I want the comfort and versatility of a bagger but the agility and aggressiveness of a Dyna. This was going to be tricky. First things first, all the tins were to come off and head to Liquid Illusions in KC for some fresh paint. The stock 96” motor needed a bump in displacement with a fresh stage one. If I wanted to ride aggressively and still keep it comfortable I was definitely ditching the stock suspension. The bike had lots of amazing chrome and that’s great and all but just not my style. The pile of parts that would be heading to Gateway Powder Coating was growing by the minute. I wasn’t a fan of the bars as I’m not that tall of a person and I had a killer idea for something I really hadn’t seen on a road king yet. I needed an aggressive bar that looked good and gave me the control and leverage needed. I wasn’t going to be happy with this bike until all these expectations were met. This wasn’t going to happen overnight and I’m basically starting from scratch. So stay tuned over the next few months as we put this bagger together and build what I believe to be the perfect bike. The “Hardly Dangerous” build is under way, thanks for stopping by and y’all enjoy the ride.

Cycle Care......Clean

Motorcycle Specific Cleaning Products??------- Who ever heard of that?? Well-- 24 years ago --NO ONE. Some would say “ Isn’t all that snake oil about the same”??-- For the motorcyclist, the Cycle Care brand changed all that, and the answer is absolutely not. In the early 90”s, Cycle Care Formulas® basically “stood alone” in the industry, by designing and manufacturing motorcycle specific and motorcycle friendly cleaning products. The founders, Bonnie and Jerry Meadors were and are extreme “clean freaks”. Due to their vocational background, they knew that:

• Bike washing didn’t have to strip the wax or polish, stain your leather, scar your windshield or create difficult to remove water spotting. • Bug management occurs before the impact. (a durable polish/ protectant will prohibit the bug from sticking & allow for easy removal.) • Windshield maintenance should provide protection, durability, repel water, and preserve the windshield as new. • Wheel cleaners should not damage your tires or wheels, the environment, your person, or your driveway. • Leather, vinyl and rubber protectors/ conditioners do not have to be oily, greasy or slippery & should have UV protection and be water repellant.

Today, Cycle Care®, still stands alone in “Motorcycle Specific Products”. Most, if not all competitive motorcycle branded/labeled products, are re-labels of automotive products with a motorcycle photo and motorcycle copy on the label. Usually, nothing much is wrong with the car product except that the performance and durability is usually ORDINARY, and in many cases, damaging to multiple motorcycle surfaces. The Cycle Care ® mantra and promise has been: “Our products will not harm any surface that water will not harm.” That’s a big promise, but one that certainly registers “big time” with Motorcycle owners.

The rider who loves his or her motorcycle, prefers a Motorcycle Specific product that removes all worries and concerns associated with cleaning, polishing and protecting their beloved. (Notice the Heart on all Cycle Care ®Labels) Our marketing focus has been around the belief that the motorcyclist was the most likely consumer to purchase or be interested in products BEYOND the ORDINARY. Today, Cycle Care® produces 15 “Motorcycle Specific” cleaners, polishes and preservatives. Not all motorcycles require 15 formulas, but with the scope of our coverage, all needs are met. Most all Formulas are produced in multiple packages, from the smaller retail sizes, to gallon containers and just recently Cycle Care® introduced, Five Formulas in 30 gallon poly drums for Dealership’s Service Departments. Cycle Care® also produced and promotes a” Detail Center” retail point of purchase display, that houses all 15 products plus a 10 product Detailing Tool Accessory Assortment. Micro Fiber towels, brushes, Micro Fiber Chamois etc. No matter what a retail customer asks for, The Dealer “has it covered” all on one display with one brand and one vendor. Who could ask for more?? The entire Cycle Care Formulas® brand, is Distributed Exclusively by the LeMans Corp through their Drag Specialties® and Parts Unlimited® marketing programs.

How’s it going Full Throttle readers, Zach White here to give you the latest and greatest info from St. Charles Harley-Davidson. Hope you enjoy this article and looking forward to many more! As the 2016 year has come to an end, the 2017 year is coming to fast start with the 3rd annual St. Louis Motorcycle Show January 14th & 15th at the America’s Center. Make sure to stop by and check out all the custom HarleyDavidson builds we have been working on back in our service department this winter. Now on to the article and to give you an idea of what we have to offer here at St. Charles Harley-Davidson. This amazing bike from front to back is a 2017 Milwaukee Eight Roadglide Special. What catches your eye close and far away is the paint on this two wheel machine. The limited series “FLASH” paint set from Harley-Davidson, numbered 76 of 150. That’s right only 150 sets will be made of this series so the chances of seeing another one on the streets will be hard to find. The base of this paint is Starfire Black with metallic flake that pops when you move closure to the bike. The pearl white Scallops that are accented with Pearl lace really gives it a great flow. The red pinstripe and lettering really helps give it a flashy but stealth look. Just wait until you see this bike up close and really capture all the detail into this paint. This is one of my favorite paint sets Harley has come out with. Now for some of the other items that complete this bike and make it a true dream machine. This one off Roadglide Special is rolling on a set of gloss black enforcer wheels. The front Page 36

end is blacked out to the fullest with the sliders, turn signals and fairing mounts. Looking close to the front of the frame you will see the all new Harley-Davidson black chopped engine guard with a nice hide away fairing support bracket. Also to add some performance to the sound of this bike we installed the Harley-Davidson Boom! Audio Stage II fairing and saddlebag lid speakers with two 300 watt amps. You will be cruising down the road at highway speeds and still hear the tunes coming from all directions and as you pull up to others they will be amazed by the crisp sound they hear coming out of the four speakers. Finally the last key feature is the stretched Harley-Davidson saddlebags that really give this bike the finishing touches to the rear. The list goes on and on with all the different features of this one off motorcycle. We have the bike started so now its time for you to finish by making this your dream bike.

Looking forward to this new year and all the two wheel fun it will bring. Hope to see you all at the 3rd annual St. Louis Motorcycle Show and make sure to check out all of our other builds we have been working on for all our amazing clients. Thanks again for taking the time to read this and please come into St. Charles HarleyDavidson and ask for me, Zach White or give me a call @ 636-946-6487 and also by email, zach@stcharlesharleydavidson.com to set up a consultation with me!
