Finding The Model That Fits YOU
H
ave you been thinking about purchasing a Harley-Davidson lately? Finding the right model can be tough; but that’s why the experts at Doc’s Harley-Davidson are here to help you. There are a lot of things to put into consideration when thinking about buying a new or pre-loved Harley. One major factor is your riding style. Do you like hopping around town? Maybe going through the twisties on some backroads, I mean who doesn’t love that? Maybe you only ride for a few hours at a time, or maybe you ride for hours on end and only go home when the sun goes down. I think you get my point. There are a TON of different riding styles, and Harley-Davidson has got you covered. For the rider who just wants to ride around town, or has a short commute, A Street may be good options for you. The Street Family was built specifically to shred the city streets. The newest addition to the Street family is the Street Rod. The Street Rod features the new High Output Revolution X 750 engine. The engine Features a blacked-out finish, dual throttle body, cylinder heads, enhanced intake ports and cams, and a 12.0:1 compression ratio that delivers 18% more horsepower and 8% more torque than the Harley-Davidson Street 750. It also features drag-style bar with bar-end mirrors, making for a sportier and aggressive riding position to help you take on the urban environment. Sportsters are another great option for the local or commuter rider. One Sportster is the brand new Iron 1200. the Iron 1200 comes equipped with a 1200cc Evolution engine, delivering plenty of power for you to enjoy. The Iron 1200 comes with a blacked out design giving it an aggressive look. Speaking of looks, the Iron 1200 is dressed up with an awesome retro 70’s tank graphic, showing off it’s roots. The cafe style solo seat allows you to sit “in” the bike while your hands and feet reach the controls naturally. The black mini-ape handlebars that the Iron 1200 comes with stock from the factor give you that fist in the wind feeling, while also giving you a comfortable and upright riding position. Hard for me to believe but September is here already. Hopefully everyone has made their room reservations for this year’s Lake of the Ozark Bikefest. There are still a few places that have rooms available if you haven’t made your reservations. But, I would certainly get on that quickly because many place are sold out. This year marks the 12th annual for this event and it has grown to be the Midwest’s biggest bike event. The lake area is such an awesome place to ride any time but during Bikefest with the roar of the bikes and all the fun things happening, it’s really a special time to be there. The area offers some of the nation’s most scenic rides around the Lake of the Ozarks and through the rolling hills of the Ozarks with all the areas spectacular views. Plus, with over 300 biker-friendly bars, restaurants, hotels and campgrounds. If you can’t have a great time here, then you probably can’t have a great time anywhere. Another great event that has been a huge success and we, at Full Throttle Magazine are proud to be a sponsor, is the Passport ride and the HarleyDavidson Motorcycle giveaway. All you need to do is purchase a Passport and make the 24 stops throughout the beautiful lake, drop your stamped Passport off at the Lake’s Harley Davidson dealer and on Sunday, one winner will be pulled and that lucky person will win a new 2017 Harley Davidson Low rider. So, like I said, if your rooms are booked that’s great but if not get those reservations booked today. You don’t want to miss the area best yearly bike event. I want to thank all those who come out every week and share their evenings with us. Your continued loyalty has made this the Biggest and Best Weekly bike night in the area. I also want to thank our loyal vendors Bill of the Neon Cycle and Dona of Two Stich Sewing for always being there to help everyone. Recovery From A
n average 60,000 or more people die each year from drug addiction and that number keeps rising each year. It’s hard to think that there are that many people every year that lose their lives battling addiction. Drug addiction does not discriminate. It can affect the richest of the rich and the poorer of the poor. People who are addicted to drugs don’t start out as addicts. It could have started out as an injury that needed pain medication. It could have started out by using as recreation, or possibly someone who gave into peer pressure; any number of reasons. These individuals are people just like you and I. They are not all bad, they are just in need of some help and guidance. They are somebody’s son or daughter, brother or sister; possibly someone’s father or mother. How many of those individuals, that are no longer with us, wanted to get help, but couldn’t get it in time? How many of them didn’t know where to go or who to talk to? How many of them got turned down for the help they wanted, or got put on a waiting list, or were told “we will call you back” and never did. State funded rehabilitation centers are backed up for months. Even a lot of rehabs that aren’t funded by the state, still have a waiting list. There’s no telling when a spot would open. These addicts don’t have months to wait, they need help NOW. That’s where RAH (Recovery From Addiction With Hope) steps in. RAH is a nonprofit 5013c organization providing recovery assistance to those suffering from addiction. The four founders of RAH: Cyndi Threadgill, Paul Carr, Gary Bougeno, Dawn Bougeno and everyone who volunteers, do this because they want to help. They all volunteer their time 100%. No one collects any compensation. They know this epidemic is killing multiple people every day. They work so hard to bring awareness of this drug abuse epidemic to our community and provide resources and drug treatment assistance to individuals suffering from addiction. They want all addicts to know that you can live clean and sober. You CAN have a better life. A lot of times addicts don’t reach out for help because they are ashamed. They are ashamed of how they have been living and what they have been doing. They don’t want to be judged. Everybody needs help sometimes and you shouldn’t feel ashamed to reach out and ask for it. The founders and members of RAH are people just like you. They understand what you are going through. They have been through it themselves or with loved ones They know the feeling of hitting rock bottom and feeling like life can never get better. RAH is here to help you pick yourself up if YOU want to be. That is the key here, YOU must Page 22

want to do this for yourself. YOU must be ready to change your life for the better. There is a better way! BUT.....It is ALL up to YOU. No one can do this, but YOU. RAH has teamed up with rehabilitation centers like CORE (Communities Of Recovery Experience), New Beginnings Sanctuary, and others to help you get the treatment you need and deserve. They work countless hours to help addicts get into these rehabilitation centers and give them a fresh start to a new life. RAH also has a recovery circle meeting the third Tuesday of every month. It is from 7 pm to 9 pm at House Springs Lions Club. The first thirty minutes are spent talking about upcoming events, new ideas on how to raise funds, progress the organization has made, etc. The rest of the meeting is a support group for people battling addiction, or people with a loved one or friend battling addiction. Anyone is welcome to join this meeting. This is a great place to go to avoid feeling isolated and alone in your struggle. Start to regain control of your life and learn from others who’ve experienced the same or a similar struggle. You need to surround yourself with people who don’t judge you; where you can speak openly about your experiences and feelings to help relieve stress, anxiety and depression. If you, a loved one or friend is fighting addiction and needs help, please check out RAH’s website (rahjeffco.org) or Facebook page (Recovery from Addiction with Hope) and get in contact with this great organization ASAP. They will help in anyway they can. They know exactly what to do to get you on your way to recovery. Life can get better, you just need to take the right steps and put in the effort.

ow’s it going Full Throttle readers, Zach White here to give you the latest and greatest info from St. Charles Harley-Davidson. The summer is coming to an end and in my eyes the best riding weather is just around the corner. The 2019 Harley-Davidson model’s are showing up at the dealership as the Annual Dealer Meeting was just held in San Diego. Next month’s article will be all about that show and what is in store for us in the Harley-Davidson world. We still have two more bike nights to end the summer riding season. They will be 9/6 with Extreme Midge Wrestling & the final one 9/20 will have Bigfoot here to crush cars as it fly’s high in the air. Now lets get started on this months bike build that not only looks good but has the power at the twist of the throttle. This started off as a stock 2017 Road Glide Special then we put together an idea and ran with it. We wanted to make it turn heads as it’s rolling down the road so we started this build with that in mind, a Fat front end! This look is getting more and more popular as riders are getting away from that go “Big” by going up and have switched it by now going “Wide”. The wheel we chose for this build is the Axxell by RC Components! We had to open up the right side and really show off the wheel so by doing that we went with a single side matching 13” rotor. The larger rotor is matched up with a 6 piston caliper so you still have the stopping power to slow this bike down. The wrapped fender also let’s the wheel and pirelli night dragon tire be seen and really show off the width of the front end. With lowering the front end and blacking it out from top to bottom this really gives the front of this bike a mean stance. Moving Back the bike you will see some aggressive handlebars made by Trask . These bars with the help of the low cut custom mirrors help continue that bold stance. In the heart of this machine we blacked out all the engine covers to help with the stealth apperience while leaving just a touch of chrome. Now, let’s move on to what’s inside the heart and what’s making this motor really thump. Page 32

The new Milwaukee Eight engine is already the most powerful motor Harley-Davidson has put out in a factory bike but who says you can’t wake it up some. That being said we did just that and installed the Screamin’ Eagle stage 4 big bore kit. This kit comes with all the upgrades needed to get the most power out and to rear wheel. From Cams that are deseigned for the CNC porter heads and high compression pistons to a bigger throttle body to deliver that juice into the motor. This kit is the total package and covered under warranty which makes it that much more fun when you twist the throttle and see what it’s really got. We wanted to finish off the look of this bike and really give it the roar we all know and love coming out of a big V-Twin. So with that in mind we went with the all new black 2into1 turn out by Python. This exhaust turns right before the saddlebag which gives it a true custom look and makes the ground rumble as you throttle by. It’s all in the name! Our organization has been around for 30 years since Tom Hartbauer thought that the time was right for someone to “Help Our Own”. Through the years we have grown from H.O.G. Chapters supporting and helping fund us, to our Incorporation in 1997 and becoming a 501 (C) (3) Not-For-Profit recognized by the Federal Gov’t. in 2003. We are proud that our Officers, Board and all our Representatives are bikers and UNPAID VOLUNTEERS who do this out of the love of motorcycles, those who ride and the lifestyle, no matter what you ride, what you wear or who you are. If you encounter a True Hardship and are a Biker living within 100 miles of the Gateway Arch, we want to assist you financially with a “Hand Up…Not a Hand Out” when you need it most. Our application process is pretty straightforward, but some requirements are in place. We offer only financial assistance. To date we have disbursed over $300,000.00 to more than 600 bikers, and is some instances their family members. Hardships are not only due to motorcycle related injuries, but illnesses and loss due to floods, fires and other accidents. now White is a house hold name in every part of the world, we all know bits and pieces of the story if not all of it. But just a quick reminder of the finer parts of the story, there was this wonderful Queen who was sewing one snowy day in her Castle looking out of the window and all of a sudden she pricked her finger causing blood to drip onto the snow on a black windowsill. Then, she says to herself, “How I wish that I had a daughter that had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony.” Some time later, the queen gives birth to a baby daughter whom she names Snow White, but the queen dies shortly thereafter.
Years later Snow White’s father marries a new women who is beautiful but wicked and vain. The new Queen had a Magic mirror, that we all know, she spoke to; but the real version is: “Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?” The mirror never really gives her the answer she wants to hear, so the Step Mother decides to get rid of Snow White since she is by far the most beautiful in the land. She tried to have her killed by a Huntsmen. Alas the Huntsman did not have the heart to go through with the Queens order and warned Snow White to run away. That’s when she came across the Seven Dwarfs who brought her in and befriended her. It wasn’t long after that, the Queen, once again, asking the magic mirror who was the fairest one in the land. And still Snow White appeared along with where she was located. The Queen becoming furious and took mattered into her own hand creating the “Poison Apple”. Turning herself into a little old lady, she was able to lure Snow white into taking a bit causing her to collapse into a deep slumber. The Seven Dwarfs put Snow White in a Glass Casket until one day while a Prince was on a hunting trip stumbled upon the casket containing Snow White. The Prince lifted the casket lid and kissed her on her ruby red lips causing her to awaken. Enchanted by her beauty, the Prince instantly falls in love with her, and then declares his love for her; living happily ever after. You may wonder what all of this has to do with this truck? With one look, it tells its own story. The color is House of Kolor “Snow White Pearl”, which is more appealing than just white, and then the “Blue Blood Red” accent is dead on Blood Red. And the touches of black through out make up for the windowsill. Sure, it might be a stretch but still all of the makings of Snow White. Let’s also take into consideration the history of these trucks; they were built to be used, worked hard and put to rest. Like Snow White, you can’t just put her to rest. She will keep coming back for more. Like the Prince stumbling upon a true beauty so did George and India Sepulveda, the owners of this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet 3100. They can’t be happier with the way she came back to life with the help of Robert, Kerry and Ross Logsdon of Premier Street Rods in Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Unlike the story, it took a lot more work than a simple kiss to revive this truck. It took a lot of hard work from a team of eight and a lot of the best parts available. With a build this nice there are a lot of custom One Off Custom Fabricated pieces and the end result just shows Clean and Pure just like Snow White. Now are you starting to see the similarities? I’m sure you are wondering if this 3100 has what is needed to get around? I’d think the GM 427-cubic inch LS3 built by Blue Print Engines would do the trick. It has all of the good internal parts along with the Eddie Motorsports dress ups and pulley drive system. Sanderson headers, Borla mufflers, Tremec T-56 six speed transmission, Currie Enterprises 9” with 3:88 Tru-Trac rear end. To make the ride nice it has a TCI Engineering chassis with RideTech Shock Waves on all corners, AccuAir management and Touch Pad system and for stopping Wilwood Brake system takes care of that. The wheel and tire package consist of 20X9 and 22X11 Budnik G Series Spyder wheels and Nitto INVO tires. For the steering you start with a Billet Specialties wheel and a Ididit steering column to the TCI rack and pinion. For the body and paint that was all done in house, Premier Street Rods has all of the sheet metal needed for the cab and the front, but they called MAR-K for the bed. They customized the front bumper, running boards and the rear roll pan. For the interior, also Blood Red, they called in Ron Mangus to help them build another One of a Kind with everything bathed in leather. With the Dakota Digital gauges, Resto-Mod Air climate control, Alpine Stereo, Kicker Speakers and all of the wiring provided by American Autowire you are sure to enjoy the interior comfort . I am pretty confident you will see a lot of this truck. It has won the Good Guys “Early Truck Award”, which is a Great Honor. It also won “The Finalist Pick”, which means in November they will find out if they won “TRUCK OF THE YEAR”. I want to wish you guys the best of luck for that honor. I am very sad to say that when I first spoke with Robert Logsdon in June to do this story, no one knew the future or I may have been able to do this story a little sooner. As I am writing this story and talking with Robert about details he told me, sadly George Sepulveda passed a few weeks ago. But Good Guys and Premier Street Rods were able to get George his trophy before he passed which made him very happy. Our prayers go out to you.
