It’s like God is blowing a fresh breeze into our souls as we serve Him and we see His effects everywhere. Clear focus, renewed creativity, and refined mission and vision have produced some exciting new adventures.

Ryan Brisco joined our fulltime staff as Director of Communications. From fresh graphic design of newsletters (see this copy), media production, and development of our new website, Ryan is doing excellent work.
WEBSITE
When the wind blows, a good sailor adjusts or “trims” his sails to gather the wind. In this season, we see God trimming our sails, bringing clear focus on what is most important: He loves us, and it is from this secure place that all His work gets done.
NEW THINGS
he idea for Refresh Nights was birthed simply by being in His Presence. One of out of a longing in our own souls for these was a young woman who had very more opportunities and space to deeply little church background. I knew it was for me. I felt the Lord saying, “Listen to Me; you can hear Me and know Me even when there are no words. When there is no answer.” In His silence He was speaking something OA S I S AT T E N D E E more deeply to me than words ever could. I felt such an Fe b r u a r y 2 0 1 6 assurance that He knows the times and the seasons, and He has all the answers. I can trust and rest and rely on Him.”

a refuge of God’s love in the midst of life’s busyness
I
t can be so hard for us to slow down, to make eye contact with Him, to let His spirit center us again. But when we do, He shifts our perspective. We see things differently. We hear things differently. We feel things differently. He speaks to the real us and we feel seen and known. In a nutshell, that’s what our quarterly Oasis Day Retreats are all about. Taking time to press pause on the busyness of life, to slow down long enough to listen, to recalibrate, to connect in the deepest parts of our hearts with God Himself. Through two live worship sets, a devotional guide, reflective stations, Communion, it’s as if God were inviting us to take a drink for our souls. One regular attendee
observed: “As I walk in, I see that love and time and care and hard work has gone on to prepare this space and I just get to walk in. And already the Lord is speaking, because isn’t that just like the Lord – to prepare a place for anyone to come and receive?! It’s an incredible atmosphere…whether you hear the Lord or see Him or He speaks to you through nature or music or coffee, the whole day is just designed so that whoever you are, wherever you look, you are going to find Him.” NEXT OASIS RETREAT:
