brating ele C 'Best Bistro' Achievement The shine from last year’s win is still glowing amongst our team, with The Full Moon Hotel proudly taking out Best Bistro Metropolitan at the 2025 Queensland Hotels Association's Awards for Excellence.

there’s a fresh sense of anticipation in the air. Full Moon is honoured to be nominated for Best Bistro once again, as well as Best Bar for Jim’s Bait & Tackle, Best Marketed Hotel, and Outstanding Achievement in Training.

It was a moment that felt bigger than the venue itself, it was a win shared with the Sandgate community and anyone who has ever raised a glass with us.

Whatever the result, being recognised across these categories alongside other venues in Queensland is something we’re incredibly proud of. It’s a nod to the journey so far, and a reminder of our teams' unwavering commitment to excellence.

That recognition is a reflection of the genuine passion and care that happens behind the scenes here every day.

Meet Ivan!

A familiar and friendly face to many of our guests, Ivan our Restaurant Manager, is known for his genuine care and passion for creating memorable experiences.

He leads a fantastic team who share his commitment to outstanding service.

When he’s not running the restaurant, Ivan is quite literally running—an avid marathoner who clocks up the kilometres year-round. You’ll spot him at a local Parkrun most Saturday mornings, with the Toowoomba Half Marathon next on his hit list.
