Supporting locals Norths Brisbane Rugby
In 2025, North Brisbane Rugby Club (“Norths”) developed a Women’s Rugby Academy with the support of Full Moon Hotel as The inaugural Women’s Academy Sponsor.
Norths has long been a leader in Junior Girls rugby, with the largest cohort of junior girls registered in any rugby club in Queensland. However, development as players transition to seniors has been hampered by limited playing opportunities for women between juniors and senior rugby. As a result, many players have either stepped into Senior Women’s rugby at 17 or been lost to the game altogether. Our Women’s Academy is designed to bridge this gap and develop our current and future premier women players.
Operating for approximately six months, the Academy includes weekly on-field and
off-field sessions focused on building rugby and life skills. Junior girls train alongside our premier women and receive high level coaching to further develop key skills and support their transition to seniors.
The sponsorship provided by the Fuelling Champions initiative by the Full Moon Hotel was the catalyst for the Academy’s launch, funding essential equipment, apparel, coaching and player support to strengthen women’s rugby at Norths.
