VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission, and is always given as a percentage. The higher the percentage, the more light can pass through the lens.
Lenses are categorized based on their VLT, with each category being best suited to a particular type of use.
Category 0 have little to no tint, whereas category 4, are strongly tinted and let only a very limited amount of light pass through.

GOGGLES
Each mirror tint serves a purpose; and it’s not to grab attention. The mirror finish is carefully constructed to reflect light away from the eye and reduce glare.
Beneath the mirror lie layers of extra protection. Hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings, including RiPel™, help keep the surface of the lens as clean and free of blemishes as possible. Lens surfaces may also be treated with anti-scratch and
anti-reflection coatings to keep the lens pristine. POC goggles feature a double-layer lens to help minimize fogging and provide extra eye protection. A thicker, 1.8mm outer lens enhances penetration protection.
The Clarity Night Vision lens has extra layers of anti-reflective coating to reduce glare from floodlights to give ultimate focus while racing at night.
