TRIRIVER COON HUNTER ASSOCIATION

Howdy, coon hunters, from out here in central Kansas. Our coon hunting around here hasn't been too good as the weather hasbeenhot and dry.Several coon in the country along the streams. You can see plenty of tracks. How many of you saw the show on C.B.S.TV Guns of Autumn? will tell you if hunting wasdone like they put it on I would be on their side.I never saw anything in my life like they showed happened on any hunt I was on. And I have been a hunter for sixty years.I never saw such a slick way to undercut a good honest hunter, and, boys, if we just sit still there will come the day they will tell you that you can't hunt anymore.

Tom Lamb sold his little Shorty dog to Oran Erickson of Clay Center, Kansas. It will be some time before he will be able to enjoy him in the timber. The night he tried him out Oran had the bad luck of breaking his hip in a fall.Hope it isn't too long before he can goout and listen to Shorty tree a coon as he is a master at it.

Our water races are all done for this year. I think the big winner from this club is Clinton House of Slina, Kansas. He has some real good swim dogs. I wish the person that cut our rope at the swim pond in four pieces would tell me just what good they got out of it. I will give them some rope to cut on.

I had a nice visit today with the Everhart boys from Gypsum, Kansas. They wanted to see Ozark Sampson. Tom, Leopard Cur, said they would like to go on a hunt with him.The coon season is open by this time and just remember you can't run a dead.
