Sustainability Week

From August 8th to 12th, the first Sustainability Week was held in Providencia with the aim of engaging employees, families, sugarcane suppliers, and local communities in the sustainability initiatives we undertake. During this week, they had the opportunity to participate in various activities:

8 Third Meeting of Familias

More than 80 people, including scholarship recipients and family members of the Providencia Educa program, participated in a workshop on life projects and emotional bonds with the aim of enhancing their socio-emotional skills. Additionally, they received well-deserved recognition for their effort and academic performance on their journey to achieve their professional dreams.

Festival

In an effort to promote active learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among the children in our area of influence, students from various educational institutions, teachers, and employees participated in a space where they shared programming and robotics knowledge to build prototypes that reflect what we are at Providencia.

9 Tree Planting Day

Employees of our company attended a tree planting event where various tree species, including Guaiacum, Rain Tree, Gualanday, and Higuerón, were planted. These trees are part of the goal to plant 500,000 trees in the ecosystem restoration process of the tropical dry forest carried out at Providencia Ecological Park. This effort contributes to the conservation of biodiversity and raises awareness about the importance of caring for our natural heritage.

Through this program from the Welfare and Quality of Life department, our employees and their families toured the Providencia facilities, learning about the production processes and the important role that each employee plays in the Company.

Bird Watching Event

We concluded our first Sustainability Week with a bird-watching the majesty of the birds we conserve at Providencia Ecological employees had the opportunity to learn about some of the 278 sp and understand the importance of ecological restoration project
