One HappyIsland
Aruba has so much to offer, so make sure you connect with its people, culture, and sights and discover what makes this, One Happy Island.

HISTORY
The island of Aruba is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a country that counts Dutch nationals as its citizens. In the beginning, the island was populated by descendants of the Arawak tribe of Venezuela.

Europeans first arrived in the 15th century, followed by Spanish rule until 1635, after which the British ruled for a few years, who were then replaced by the Dutch. In 1986, Aruba obtained a separate status as an autonomous country in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
HISTORIC SPOTS
Antilla is a sunk German freighter located a few minutes away from Malmok Beach, Aruba’s most popular dive site. An insight into Aruba’s gold mining past can be found at Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins on the northern coast. The Aruba Historical Museum is housed in Fort Zoutman.
BITES YOU MUST TRY.
Aruba’s fresh seafood pairs beautifully with the fluffy pan bati, a sweet pancake with a savory taste. Pastechi is a pastry stuffed with cheese. Veggies or protein can be stuffed inside. Keshi yena, a Dutch-inspired dish, is usually made by hollowing out Gouda cheese and stuffing it with a spicy chicken filling.
IT’S 5 O’CLOCK SOMEWHERE!
In Aruba, Balashi and Chill are the most popular beers. Aruba Ariba is a classic island cocktail made with Coecoei (an Aruban liquor), vodka, banana liqueur, and local rum.
ORANJESTAD’S DOWNTOWN
A colorful city, Aruba’s capital
Oranjestad is home to the island’s largest shopping and dining area along its Main Street, which is lined with colorful, Dutch-style buildings. In addition to iconic worldwide brands offering leather, jewelry, designer fashions and more, guests can find local stores stocked with Aruban crafts and Dutch favorites such as cheese and chocolates. In this shopping paradise, you can find the products of Aruba’s best artists and craftspeople.
Over a dozen different types of cuisine are available at restaurants, cafes, and bars in downtown Oranjestad. Aruban classics, Brazilian, Chinese, Dutch, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Mediterranean, Mexican, steak houses, and more are only a sample of the eatery choices.
THE CULTURE
Since Arubans are close to South America and influenced by three different cultural reigns, they have developed into a highly diverse population of almost 90 different nationalities that combine to create an inviting, welcoming community rich in cuisine, art, sport, and lifestyle.

5 THINGS ABOUT ARUBA
Aruba is part of the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao).
Aruba’s official language is Dutch, but the majority of the population speaks Papiamento, a Spanish Portuguese-Dutch creole.
The capital of Aruba is Oranjestad, located on the western coast of the island.
Aruba is home to the only natural flamingo population in the Caribbean.
Aruba is home to the Arikok National Park, which covers approximately 20% of the island.

MotherNature
Several types of flora and fauna are only found on Aruba.
DIVI-DIVI TREES
This iconic tree of Aruba grows best in this region. Reaching an impressive 30 feet tall, the compass tree has canopies that always point southwest, influenced by northeast trade winds.
THE
DESERT LANDSCAPES.
Of all the Caribbean islands, Aruba is consistently one of the sunniest. Combined with an arid climate, dense cacti, desert flowers, Caribbean pines, wild orchids, lush vines, and other exotic plants flourish.
LIFE IN THE SEA
There are many incredible sea creatures in the waters of Aruba
including sea turtles, moray eels, stingrays, octopuses, seahorses, starfish, clown fish, barracuda, grouper, among many other flora and fauna.
BIRD WATCHING
Aruba is home to over 200 species of birds, including the colorful prikichi, the Aruban parakeet; the warawara, a bird of prey like an eagle; and the endangered shoko, a burrowing owl.
REPTILES
In Aruba, you can find lizards from all over the world, including the Aruba whiptail lizard, the Aruba leaf-toed gecko, and the Aruban rattlesnake.
ISLAND BEACHES
There are many beaches in Aruba that offer powderysoft white sand set against turquoises and aquas that constantly change with the Caribbean sun. There are 20 beaches recommended for visitors, including some award-winning ones.
BEST BEACHES IN THE WORLD
Eagle Beach is the island’s largest and has the archetypal fofoti trees (often misidentified as divi-divi trees) that appear in many of the island’s promotional materials. Watersports, beach activities, and food and beverage kiosks are available along the coast. Low-rise hotels dominate the landscape. Be on the lookout for nests of sea turtles.
Baby Beach is a familyfriendly snorkeling and swimming destination on the southeast corner of the island. There is a barrier that separates the bay from the ocean, ensuring calm, clear, and shallow water.
Arashi Beach, located near the northernmost portion of the island, is a multifaceted retreat with a backdrop of Aruba’s California Lighthouse. Snorkeling is ideal in this calm turquoise water.
Aruba’s north coast has been sculpted by waves and strong winds for thousands of years, creating several natural bridges. The famous Natural Bridge collapsed on September 2, 2005, which was the largest of these bridges. It remains a popular tourist attraction in Aruba, along with the adjacent, intact Baby Bridge.
COLLAPSED NATURAL BRIDGE
By viewing the bay behind the ruins of the bridge, you can see magnificent sceneries of the waves bursting against the rocks as the bridge collapsed. Its elegant exterior resembles an Aruba country home, which is typical of old-style homes on the island. Interior amenities include state-of-the-art restrooms, a bar, a gift shop, and sit-down areas. From the sitting areas, a series of
big windows provide panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding hills. Stunning views await you.
THE GIFT SHOP & BAR
Gifts and apparel from Biba Dushi are available in the gift shop. Drinks, snacks, sandwiches, and ice cream are available in the bar, along with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Natural Bridge is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
NATURAL BRIDGE TOUR
Both the Natural Bridge and Baby Bridge can be reached by car and are included in many island tours. There is no need for a 4WD because the roads are paved. Near the Ostrich Farm, just a little further down, you will find the Natural Bridge. Andicuri Beach
NaturalBridge
can be seen from the Natural Bridge. This beach, though, can only be reached with a proper 4WD or organized off-road safari.
YOU CAN TAKE SUPER

A conversation with Founder’s Son, Tesh Chugani
Q: Where did you start and where does the name Kay’s name come from?
A: We are a family owned and operated business in the Caribbean for 30+ Years. My Dad founded the business in 1989 on St.Maarten. When deciding upon a name, he wanted to incorporate his parents blessings. Kay was my Grandfather’s nickname and my Grandmother’s name start with S, hence Kay’s. We truly believe their blessings and good wishes are with us as we are now in 6 Islands, manage 9 retail stores, along with our production factories and wholesale division.
Q: What continues to inspire you to lead and grow your Family Business?
A: This one is easy and without a doubt, My Parents. My parents moved from India to St.Maarten in the late 1980’s in hopes of starting a successful business and giving us the opportunity for a better future. My Dad had limited knowledge of the industry and spent his nights educating himself on gold, diamonds, and exotic gemstones. I recall the early mornings and late nights they had to put in to maintain and grow our family business all while not sacrificing family time. In the past many years, with the support of our loyal clients, we have been able to maintain our family integrity while growing our business across the Caribbean.
Q: What is the most unique or special jewelry item that you have designed in your 20+ Years?
A: Can I say every piece? Every item I feel has a story! I have been blessed to be part of so many special occasions. If I had to pick from personal collection, it would be a 2 stone bypass ring with ideal-cut round brilliant diamonds and natural pink diamonds. I sorted the
highest grade of natural vivid pink diamonds from the Argyle Mine in Australia and did a pink diamond halo around 2 diamonds. Wornby my wife, Reena, the 2 white diamonds represent our 2 daughters.

Q: Can you share with us one special experience with a client that you recall?
A: I remember this one like it was yesterday (though it was almost 17 years ago). I was referred to a client from Upstate NY and it was their first time to Aruba. As he introduced himself and his wife, he handed me his Credit Card and walked away. I recall asking him “where are you going and I have your credit card?” His reply “whatever she wants and I know you will take care of the fair price. You came highly recommended based off trust and family values and I know you won’t guide us wrong.” I never forgot that experience as it made me realize as a young leader and businessman, all we have is trust and our family values.
