It’s been typical Colorado weather as we head into spring! Staff has been busy with lots of indoor programming to battle this crazy weather. We are currently wrapping up Men’s (12 Teams) and Women’s (4 Teams) basketball with our end of season tournaments. Our first year of Women’s Volleyball was a big success with 12 teams. Mornings at the Fieldhouse have been full with pickleball. Indoor baseball had a great inaugural season with 6 teams. We had 24 teams in our winter cornhole league. As for the kids, we have 445 kids signed up for youth soccer. That is a 11% increase from last year. Our youth sport numbers continue to grow!

Looking ahead, we wanted to inform you of upcoming programs. It’s time to start registering your child for summer programs. Have you signed your kid up for youth baseball (Pre-K to 6th Grade)? The registration deadline is May 6th (pg. 11)! Swim Lessons registration (pg. 20-23) is filling up, make sure to get that done! Other upcoming programs include youth tennis camp (pg. 11), beginning archery (pg. 14), a ton of senior center trips and activities (pg. 33-35), a chance to watch the Colorado Rapids (pg. 15), and much more! Plus, mark down your calendar for Saturday, May 27th for our 2nd Anniversary of the Fieldhouse with our Kickoff to Summer Party (pg. 13). That’s when we are turning the splash pad on for the summer! We are even having a coloring challenge for kids to win prizes (pg. 14). So dive into this guide and remember that you can register at the Fieldhouse or online at https://secure.rec1.com/CO/fort-morgan-co/catalog

If you have any questions, please come visit us at the Fieldhouse or give us a call at (970) 542-3921.

SERVICES DEPARTMENTS

COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENTS DIRECTORY

All of the City of Fort Morgan’s youth sport leagues are ran by volunteer coaches. This keeps the cost affordable for families so children can play and have fun. Even if you have no coaching experience, please apply! We have the necessary tools to help you provide a great experience for your team. We often do not have enough coaches which delays game schedules and affects the experience for the kids. As a coach, we ask you to focus on three teachings: teach them how to play the game, teach them excellent sportsmanship, and teach them to have fun! Applicants are subject to a background check and a simple concussion training course before coaching. As a perk, each successful season completed as a volunteer coach results in a $35 credit to your account which can be used for future recreation programs. If interested, please let the receptionist know when you are registering your child for a sport or contact us at (970) 542-3921.
