It has been a cold and snowy winter! Staff has been busy with lots of indoor programming to battle this winter season. Our youth basketball program brought in more participants than ever before: 436 players on 58 teams! The Fieldhouse was filled to the brim this early winter with basketball! During one of our basketball game days, we ran a free craft class for kids to decorate gingerbread houses. A wave of kids come in and show their creative side! We have also began several adult recreation programs including women’s volleyball, indoor baseball, and corn hole. Pickleball has filled court 2 as we have players of all ages come in and enjoy this fast growing sport! Our indoor track has been busy with walkers and runners! All in all, the Fieldhouse has been the place to be this winter!

Looking ahead, we wanted to inform you of upcoming programs. Have you signed your kid up for youth soccer (Pre-K to 6th Grade)? The registration deadline is February 25th (page 11)! Even though there is snow on the ground, now is the time to sign up for soccer! Adult Basketball registration has also begun for both men’s and women’s teams (page 14)! Other upcoming programs include the very popular Daddy Daughter Dance (page 12), a casino trip to Deadwood, SD (page 15), a chance to watch the Colorado Mammoth (page 22), and much more! So dive into this guide and remember that you can register at the Fieldhouse or online at https://secure.rec1.com/CO/ fort-morgan-co/catalog.

If you have any questions, please come visit us at the Fieldhouse or give us a call at (970) 542-3921.

COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENTS

DIRECTORY

All of the City of Fort Morgan’s youth sport leagues are ran by volunteer coaches. This keeps the cost affordable for families so children can play and have fun. Even if you have no coaching experience, please apply! We have the necessary tools to help you provide a great experience for your team. We often do not have enough coaches which delays game schedules and affects the experience for the kids. As a coach, we ask you to focus on three teachings: teach them how to play the game, teach them excellent sportsmanship, and teach them to have fun! Applicants are subject to a background check and a simple concussion training course before coaching. As a perk, each successful season completed as a volunteer coach results in a $35 credit to your account which can be used for future recreation programs. If interested, please let the receptionist know when you are registering your child for a sport or contact us at (970) 542-3921.
