Recommendations

• Upgrade the old smaller monitors to enhance the visibility of FIDS, BIDS and GIDS, by enlarging them and improving the Graphic user interface.

• Make all FIDS and BIDS locations more consistent throughout, improve FIDS design and coloring to make the screens and information more homogeneous.

• Improve amount of digital information at gate displays.

• Provide a cohesive visual experience for the passengers by creating a consistent visual theme throughout for ease of direction and wayfinding.

Houston Airport System Has The Goal To Become A 5 Star Airport Skytrax In All Aspects And The Customer Experience Is Crucial In Meeting This Goal Today And Continuing Into The Future.

DIALOGUE/APPROACH

FSG has a 5 Year on Call Services Contract with the Houston Airport System. Under this contract, FSG was asked to replace all existing FIDS & BIDS at all the 5 Terminals of IAH as well as Hobby Airports.

We need to increase the size of the FIDS & BIDS by 2 inches to meet the Skytrax Audit requirements. The auditors addressed the “Visual Clutter” they noticed at the terminals creating wayfinding challenges for weary travelers.

The large JCDecauex advertising screens are very striking and take up most of the room leaving very little space for the FIDS & BIDS.

We have devised a design solution to provide a Light Band above the FIDS & BIDS.
