Dear Valued Customers,
We highly recommend that all animals purchased at our sale be insured, especially for the first six months of their working life. We prioritise the health and wellbeing of our livestock and want to emphasise that the responsibility for the bulls will be transferred to the buyer once the sale is completed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Additionally, bulls are welcome to remain at our home farm after the sale while transportation arrangements are finalised. However, the maximum duration for their stay is two weeks, unless alternative arrangements have been made. Please ensure that all animals are insured during this period.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to assisting you with your purchases.
Bull Management and Handling
When introducing your new bull to his new environment we recommend having a suitable group of animals yarded to help reduce stress and allow him to settle in quickly.
Our bulls are presented for sale in joining condition, but it’s crucial to maintain their nutrition, particularly for yearling bulls during their first joining season. Regular monitoring will help prevent injury and ensure they remain in good working order. Post-joining, we strongly advise drenching and placing the bull in a good pasture paddock to support recovery and maintain body condition.
Visitor Safety at our Sale

Welcome
WE are delighted to welcome you to our first “Cream of the Crop” Bull & Female Sale, featuring exceptional bulls from both the BoonARKM and Limitless brands, including a special female from Limitless. This event marks a significant milestone for our family and our cattle operation, and we are excited to share it with you.
Performing Under Tough Condition
The past season in South Australia has been challenging, with tough conditions testing the resilience of livestock across the region. Despite these hardships, our cows have continued to perform, demonstrating remarkable endurance and productivity. We are pleased to report one of our most successful weaning seasons to date, highlighted by an outstanding group of ET and AI calves that promise a bright future for our herd.
A New Chapter for BoonARKM
Jordan and Annie have acquired the remaining half of the stud cows from their partners, the Hurrell and Walker families. The BoonARKM bulls featured in this sale represent the original group owned by the original partnership. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Hurrell and Walker families for their support over the years and look forward to the future as our young family embarks on this new journey.
Strategic Acquisition
We continue our commitment to genetic excellence, which has again been evident through several investments in 2024:
- Winchester Dream T28 Flush: We have purchased a flush from Winchester Livestock’s Winchester Dream T28, a stunning granddaughter of the prolific Vermont Dream Y301, by Millah Murra Paratrooper P15. Her embryos will be implanted this coming Autumn.
- Embryos from Hamilton Farms, Canada: During the spring mating of 2024, we implanted embryos we imported from Hamilton Farms after our visit in 2023. HF Tibbie 205F by Baldridge Jordan are due to calve in July 2025.
- Sprys-W Barunah S504: We are thrilled to have purchased privately Sprys-W Barunah S504 for $25,000. She is out of the top price female at Wattletops dispersal sale - Wattletop Barunah E295. S504 has already proven her worth by breeding Sprys’ $40,000 top-priced Angus bull in their 2024 sale. S504 is due to calve to Dunoon Data Plus this coming autumn, after which we plan to collect embryos before integrating her into our autumn program. We are incredibly grateful to Gerald and Lynden Spry for providing us the opportunity to add such a special female to our herd.
A Larger Property
After nearly 20 years at the Mount Magnificent home farm, the property has been sold. February 2025 will mark our final on-farm Field Day at this location. We will then transition to our second farm, located only 5 km away closer to Meadows, a larger holding of 300 acres to grow into. The majority of our herd has already been relocated, with the remainder to follow after the Field Day.
Sale Highlights
- Elite Bulls: A selection of top-tier bulls from both the BoonARKM and Limitless brands, each evaluated by Dick Whale. Our bulls for a second year will feature Dick’s IBMS index (available closer to sale day) complementing the EBVs and EPDs from their respective breed societies. We value the comprehensive insights provided by the Igenity index and IBMS indexes, offering a uniform data set for cross-breed comparison.
- Special ET Prospect Show Heifer: A standout offering, this heifer comes halter-broken and ready for the show ring - an excellent opportunity for youth exhibitors. She is available with the option to join our show team, who will show periodically throughout the year (please inquire for more information).
Two Brands to Choose From
We proudly own and operate both BoonARKM Angus and Limitless Cattle Co, ensuring identical quality and breeding philosophies underpinning both programs. Both herds run side by side under the same conditions with equal care and dedication.
BoonARKM upholds a proud tradition of reliable, world-class Angus bulls known for consistent performance, proven maternal lines, and adaptability.
Limitless offers the crossbreeding advantages of Sim+ bulls (SimAngus) and pure Simmental bulls, delivering hybrid vigour, growth, and versatility while maintaining superior performance. Whichever brand you choose, our unwavering commitment to excellence ensures bulls with superior genetics, balanced traits, and real-world functionality, backed by years of thoughtful breeding decisions.
Special Open Day
Join us for a special open day featuring Texas-style beef, where you can view the sale offerings and enjoy warm hospitality. This event provides an excellent opportunity to engage with fellow cattle enthusiasts and discuss the future of our breeding programs.
We extend our heartfelt thanks for your interest and continued support. Your participation in this sale contributes to the ongoing success and progression of our family-run operation. We look forward to welcoming you to our events.
In gratitude,
Jordan, Annie, Isaac & Amos Palmer

The Angus Breed has made great progress this century particularly in growth rate, maternal and direct calving ease, and improved carcase traits. But there has been little emphasis on how long cows last in the commercial herd, and how much each animal eats.

New Traits Available through Igenity Beef ProÞling
New Traits Available through Igenity Beef Profiling
The trait with no consideration currently with Angus Breedplan is Stayability, which is the ability of a sire to produce daughters that remain in your commercial herd until at least 6 years of age. This selection trait has been available in some breeds in the USA for more than 20 years, Red Angus and Simmental are 2 of these breeds. Bulls in the top 25% for this trait in these breeds have daughters producing 2 extra calves in their lifetime, compared to bulls in the bottom 25% for this trait.

Carcase tenderness is another trait of great importance that is available through Igenity Beef testing. This is how easy the eye muscle cuts using the Warner Bratzler test. Animals that are high under this test, combined with high marbling, are carcases that will deliver beef consumers a positive eating experience.

With the feedlot traits average daily gain (adg), residual feed intake (RFI), and the carcase traits marbling, HSCW, EMA, and rib fat, this system has a very high correlation in excess of 90% with animals tested and followed through the feedlot to the rail.

The other trait that is regularly overlooked in cattle production is feed efÞciency. We believe the Angus cattle today consumes signiÞcantly more feed than 20 years ago. Yes, they have more growth, but do they convert feed efÞciently. Angus Australia has an EBV for Net Feed EfÞciency (NFI) yet choose not to use this trait in their selection indexes. Neogen measure and report Residual Feed Intake (RFI) and include this in their indexes. These two traits are basically the same measuring feed consumed relative to animal maintenance and performance needs.

We are currently using 2 indexes in our breeding programme derived from Igenity Beef data. The following weightings are used.
The reason for the high weightings for Stayability/RFI are because the Angus breed is poor for these traits against the reference population. The Angus breed performs well for most other traits, except for tenderness which is all over the place because no breed has selected for it.

The most surprising finding in testing a significant number of commercial herds over the last 3 years, is how much each herd varies. Some have excellent growth and carcase traits, and poor Stayabilty and RFI, while others are the complete opposite.

With this additional information available through Neogen Igenity Beef we believe this information will assist us to breed a more feed efficient cow herd, with lower methane emissions, producing more calves in their lifetime. Their progeny will have superior marbling and tenderness, which is extremely important when beef is 3.5 times more expensive than chicken.
