One of the oldest private high schools in the United States and now well into its third century, FA enrolls, fosters, and celebrates young men and women of truly diverse backgrounds, both local and global. The socioeconomic, geographic, and cultural blend of our student body and faculty is extraordinary, as is the array of individual members’ talents and interests. Though no school can be all things to all people, few others offer the breadth of learning opportunities available at Fryeburg Academy.

With over five major ski mountains located within an hour drive of Fryeburg, you can ski and shred all winter long.

Meet Saco, the 80-footlong Chinese dragon who makes an appearance at many FA events, and the students who have the opportunity to work with him as his puppeteers.

Wait, there’s welding at Fryeburg Academy? There sure is. The woodworking and machine fabrication technology in our technical arts building puts the ‘maker’ in makerspace.

An average of 40 student-made films are produced each year using the latest professional production and editing equipment in our Media Center and Film Studio.

Through intentional scheduling, we limit overlap of afternoon activities so that students don’t have to choose between being an athlete or an artist; between community service or chorus; between rock band or rock climbing.
