+ Holy Fifty Days: :‫الخماسين المقدسة‬ With the feast of Holy Resurrection starts the ‫مع عيد القيامة المجيد تبدأ أيام الخماسين‬ Holy fifty days. First Sunday is Thomas Sunday, ‫المقدسة ومع أول آحاد الخماسين‬ which is one of the Lord’s minor feasts. The ‫تحتفل الكنيسة بأحد توما وهو عيد‬ church remember how the Lord revealed to His ‫سيدى صغير تتذكر فيه الكنيسة كيف‬ disciples the signs of His sufferings, as He called ‫أظهر الرب عالمات جراحاته لتالميذه‬ St Thomas to put his fingers and touch the prints ‫ولتوما الذى أراد أن يضع يديه فى‬ of the nails, and the place of the spear in His .. ‫يدى المسيح وجنبه ليتأكد من قيامته‬ side to remove away any doubts and give them a ‫وهكذا أكد الرب لتالميذه حقيقة قيامته‬ proof of His resurrection so that they can wit‫بصورة ملموسة حتى يمكنهم أن يشهدوا‬ ness to all the world that we preach to you about ‫بقوة ويقولون عنه الذى رأيناه بعيوننا‬ the One Whom we have seen with our eyes and ‫ وهكذا أيضا‬.. ‫ولمسته أيدينا نخبركم به‬ touched with our hands. The Lord manifested in ‫أعلن الرب وجود الصليب فى القيامة‬ His Resurrected Body the signs of the Cross even ‫ اذ حمل جسده القائم من األموات‬..

It was a glorified body. In these fifty days, the ‫حمل عالمات الصليب رغم أنه جسد‬ church embarks with Lord in a glorious jour.. ‫ممجد ال يتأثر وال يحتاج للماديات‬ ney in which the Lord reveal His Glory and His ‫مع بداية الخماسين تدخل الكنيسة فى‬ Kingdom. These are joyful days in which we do ‫رحلة مفرحة مع الرب الذى يكشف‬ not fast as the Bridegroom is with us. The Lord .. ‫لتالميذه عن مجد الهوته وقيامته‬ is filling His disciples with support and peace to ‫ أيام يفرحون‬.. ‫ويحدثهم عن ملكوته‬ witness for Him and to be ready to be filled with ‫فيها بوجود العريس معهم ولذلك ال‬ the Holy Spirit Which abides with forever and is ‫ أيام يستعدون فيها لكى يحل‬.. ‫يصومون‬ ready for His Second Coming. How wonderful ‫فيهم الروح المعزى الذى يمكث معهم‬ are these days as the Lord reveal to His Bride ‫ أيام ينزع الرب فيها منهم‬.. ‫الى األبد‬ the Human soul the Glories of the Heaven. I His ‫خوف العالم وأضطرابه ويمنحهم نعمة‬ Resurrection He opened for His Bride the Gates ‫وقوة خاصة للشهادة لقيامته فى أورشليم‬ of the Paradise and accompany her in a journey .. ‫والسامرة والى أقاصى األرض‬ through this world to Heavenly Jerusalem to ‫يعدهم الرب أيضا لمجيئه الثانى فيرفع‬ live there forever. Let us make these days real ‫قلوبهم وعيونهم وأشواقهم لحياة السماء‬ spiritual days. Even there is no fasting but this ‫ حقا ما أروع أيام الخماسين‬.. ‫ومجدها‬ body who enjoyed the spiritualties of the Lent ‫ لقد خطب العريس السماوى عروسه‬.. and went through the passions of the Lord cannot ‫النفس البشرية وقدم لها دمه فداء‬ any more get entangled in these materialistic lusts ‫ وفى قيامته‬.. ‫وخالصا على الصليب‬ of the world. Let rejoice in the Lord and let us be ‫فتح لها العريس أبواب الفردوس لتعاين‬ elevated by Him to the Heaven. These are blessed ‫مجده وأعدها لكى تمضى معه رحلة‬ days let us sanctify our thoughts and bodies and ‫الغربة فى هذا العالم متجها بها الى‬ have the real joy of Resurrection. ‫أورشليم السماوية حيث يسكن الرب مع‬ The Martyrdom of St. George Prince of the Mar- ‫لنجعل هذه األيام‬.. ‫عروسه الى األبد‬ tyrs. ‫ ورغم عدم وجود‬.. ‫أيام نشاط روحى‬ 1st May - 23rd Baramouda ‫ ولكن الجسد‬.. ‫أى صوم فى هذه األيام‬ On this day, of the year 37 A.D., the great among ‫الذى أستعد أيام الصوم الكبير وعبر‬ the martyrs St. George, was martyred. So, ‫دقلديانوس ليتقلد وظيفة والده فوجد‬ either you believe on this true faith, or at least do not disturb with foolishness those who are steadfast ‫أن الملك قد كفر وأمر بعبادة األصنام‬ ‫فحزن وفرق كل ماله وأعطاه‬ in it.” The Emperor asked Mephnanius, one of his ‫للمساكين وصرف غلمانه وتقدم إلى‬ ministers, to pacify and persuade him. The Emperor interrupted, reminding ‫قائال « إلى متي تصبون غضبكم‬ the Saint with the ranks that he bestowed on him, and promised him with more if he denied his Christ. ‫علي المسيحيين األبرار وتكرهون‬ The Saint refused with pride all these vain propo- ‫الذين عرفوا اإليمان الحقيقي علي أن‬ ‫يتبعوا الديانة التي أنتم في شك منه‬ sitions. The Emperor tortured him severely, but the ‫ألنه غير حقيقية ؟ فأما أن تؤمنوا‬ Lord strengthened him and healed all his wounds.

When the Emperor was weary of torturing him, he ‫بهذه الديانة الحقيقية أو علي األقل ال‬ ‫تقلقوا بحماقة أولئك المتمسكين بها‬ brought a magician, whose name was Athanasius, who gave the Saint a cup full of poison to drink. St. ‫ أحد‬، ‫ فأشار الملك إلى مفنانيوس‬.

George made the sign of the cross over the cup then ‫ « من علمك‬: ‫وزرائه لتهدئته فقال له‬ drank it. When no harm came upon him, the magi- « ‫ « هو الحق‬: ‫هذه الجرأة « فأجابه‬ cian believed in the Lord Christ, and received the ‫ فتدخل الملك وأخذ‬، ‫ثم بدأ يشرحه له‬ ‫يذكره بالرتب التي أنعم بها عليه‬ crown of martyrdom. The Emperor became raged and ordered to squeeze him until he delivered up his ‫ويعده بالمزيد منها إذا جحد مسيحه‬ ‫فرفض بآباء هذه العروض الزائلة‬ soul, and they cast his body out side the city. ‫ولم يلتفت إليها فعذبه كثيرا وكان‬ The Lord Christ raised him up, and the Saint returned to the city. When the people saw him, three . ‫الرب يقويه ويشفي جميع جراحاته‬ ‫ولما حار الملك في تعذيبه أستحضر‬ thousand and seven hundred souls believed. The ‫ساحرا أسمه أثناسيوس وهذا أحضر‬ Emperor ordered to cut off their heads and they ‫كأسا مألنا وتال عليه من أقواله‬ received the crown of martyrdom. ‫ وقدمه للقديس فشربه‬، ‫السحرية‬ When St. George stood before Emperor Diocle، ‫بعد أن رسم عليه عالمة الصليب‬ tian, along with seventy kings that were sitting ‫ مما جعل أن الساحر‬، ‫فلم ينله آذى‬ around him, they asked the Saint: “We wish you to ‫ ونال‬، ‫نفسه يؤمن بالسيد المسيح‬ make these chairs that we are sitting on to put forth ‫إكليل الشهادة فاغتاظ الملك وأمر‬ leaves, and bear fruit.” The Saint prayed to the Lord Christ, the Lord accepted his supplication and the ‫بعصر جاؤرجيوس حتى يسلم الروح‬ ‫فطرحوه خارج المدينة ولكن السيد‬ chairs put forth leaves and bore fruit.

They took him once to a cemetery and asked him to ‫المسيح أقامه حيا وعاد هذا الشهيد‬ raise the dead therein. He prayed to the Lord Christ. ‫إلى المدينة فرآه الجميع وآمن بسببه‬ The Lord raised them and after they talked to them, ‫في تلك اللحظة ثالثة آالف وسبعمائة‬ ‫ فأمر دقلديانوس بقطع‬. ‫نفس‬ they returned to their graves and died.

A poor woman, brought her son, who was blind, . ‫رؤوسهم جميعا فنالوا إكليل الشهادة‬ deaf and dumb, he prayed to the Lord Christ then ‫وكان بحضرة دقلديانوس بعض من‬ made the sign of the cross over him, and he was ‫الملوك فقالوا للقديس « نريد أن تجعل‬ healed right away. ‫ فصلي‬. « ‫هذه الكراسي تورق وتثمر‬ Diocletain, during all that, went on torturing St. ‫القديس إلى السيد المسيح فاستجاب‬ George, until he was weary and bored of that. He ‫ وأخذه مرة إلى مقبرة وطلبوا‬. ‫طلبه‬ started to be pleasant to the Saint and promised ‫ فصلي‬، ‫إليه أن يقيم من بها من الموتى‬ to give him his daughter in marriage if he would ‫إلى السيد المسيح فأقامهم الرب وبعد‬ offer the incense to his gods. He began to interpret to her ‫مستمرا في تعذيبه فلما تعب من ذلك‬ all the events from the creation of the world to ‫ ويعده أن يزوجه‬، ‫ومل صار يالطفه‬ the Incarnation of the Lord Christ, and his words ، ‫من أبنته إذا بخر لآللهة فخادعه‬ entered her heart and she believed in the Lord ‫جاؤرجيوس وأوهمه أنه قبل ذلك ففرح‬ Christ, to Whom is the Glory. ‫وأدخله إلى قصره وبينما كان يصلي‬ The Emperor ordered to call upon all the men of ‫سمعته الملكة وهو يقرأ المزامير‬ the city to gather, in order to see Saint George . ‫فطلبت إليه أن يشرح ما كان يقوله‬ offering the incense to the Emperor’s gods. ‫فبدأ يفسر لها كل األمور من أول خلقة‬ When multitude gathered by the idols, Gawar‫العالم إلى تجسد السيد المسيح فدخل‬ gios (George) stood and cried at the idols in the ‫كالمه في قلبها وآمنت بالمسيح له‬ Name of the Lord Christ the Savior of the world. . ‫المجد‬ The earth opened its mouth and swallowed all the ‫وكان الملك قد أمر أن ينادوا‬ idols. The Emperor and all those who were with ‫في المدينة باجتماع الناس ليروا‬ him were ashamed and he returned to his palace ‫ فلما‬, ‫جاؤرجيوس يبخر آللهة الملك‬ full of fury and wrath. The Empress told him: ‫اجتمع جمع كبير عند األصنام وقف‬ “Didn’t I tell you not to oppose the Galileans, for ‫جاؤرجيوس وصرخ في األصنام باسم‬ their God is strong and mighty?” The Emperor ‫ ففتحت‬. ‫الرب يسوع مخلص العالم‬ was exceedingly wrath with her, for he knew that ‫األرض فاها وابتلعت جميع األصنام‬ St. George had brought her also to his faith. The ‫فخزي الملك ومن معه ودخل حزينا‬ Emperor with rage ordered to comb her body ‫ ألم أقل لك‬: ‫إلى قصره فقالت له الملكة‬ with a steel comb, then cut off her head, and she ‫« ال تعاند الجليليين الن إلههم قوي ؟‬ received the crown of martyrdom. Finally, Diocle- ‫« فعلم أن جاؤرجيوس قد أمالها هي‬ tian decided to put an end to the humiliation that ‫األخرى إلى أيمانه ودفعه الغيظ إلى‬ befell him, so he ordered to cut off the head of St. ‫أن أمر بتمشيط جسمها وقطع رأسها‬ George, and he received the crown of martyrdom. ‫ وأخيرا رأي‬. ‫فنالت إكليل الشهادة‬ A Christian took the body, wrapped it in expen‫دقلديانوس أن يضع حدا لتلك الفضائح‬ sive shrouds, and took it to the city of Lydda, his ‫التي تلحقه فقرر قطع رأس القديس‬ home town, and they built a great church on his ‫جاؤرجيوس فنال إكليل الشهادة وأخذ‬ name there. ‫أحد المسيحيين جسده ولفه في أكفان‬ His intercession be with us and Glory be to our ‫فاخرة ومضي به إلى بلده وبنوا علي‬ God forever. Amen. ‫اسمه كنيسة عظيمة شفاعته تكون معنا‬ ‫ آمين‬. ‫ولربنا المجد دائما‬

The Departure of St. Isaac (Ishaq), of Hourin. ‫نياحة القديس اسحق الهوزيني‬ 30th April - 22nd Baramoda ‫ برمودة‬22 - ‫ أبريل‬30 On this day the holy father Anba Isaac (Ishaq) ‫في مثل هذا اليوم تنيح األب القديس األنبا‬ departed. He was born in the city of Hourin ‫ وقد ولد بمدينة هورين من أعمال‬. ‫أسحق‬ Shabas, from unblemished parents. His father›s ‫شباس من أبوين طاهرين وكان اسم أبيه‬ name was Abraham, and his mother›s name was ‫إبراهيم وأمه سوسنة وقد توفيت وتركته‬ Susannah. His mother departed when he was a ‫أن‬ ‫ ثم تزوج أبوه بعد ذلك واتفق‬. ‫صغيرا‬ child, and his father, shortly after, married another ‫أبيه‬ ‫امرأة‬ ‫حدث في البالد غالء عظيم وكانت‬ wife. In those days there was a famine, and his stepmother hated him. She only gave him a little bread, ‫ فكان‬. ‫تبغضه فال تعطيه من الخبز إال القليل‬ ‫يفرقه علي الرعاة الذين كان يرعى معهم‬ which he gave to the shepherds that he worked with. He fasted until sunset, although he was only ‫ويبقي هو صائما إلى الغروب مع أن عمره‬ five years old. When his father knew that, he went ‫كان وقتئذ ابن خمس سنين وشعر أبوه وحل‬ to see him to inquire into that. Knowing the matter, ‫طرف العباءة وجد قطع الطين خبزا وشهد‬ before his father came to him, he tied up three ‫الحضور بأن الصبي قد فرق ما كان معه من‬ pieces of mud in his cloak, so that his father might ‫الخبز كما رآه البعض وهو يربط قطع الطين‬ think when he saw them from far that they were ‫هذه في طرف عباءته فتعجب والده ومجد‬ bread. When his father came and unrolled the cloak, ‫رجل‬ ‫هللا لما كبر الصبي مضي وترهب عند‬ he found three pieces of bread. The shepherds who ‫قديس اسمه األنبا ايليا وأقام عنده مدة وبعد‬ were present testified that the boy had given them all what he had of bread, and others saw him tieing ‫نياحة األنبا ايليا مضي إلى جبل برنوج وأقام‬ ‫عند شيخ يدعي األنبا زخارياس وكان أبوه‬ the pieces of mud in his cloak. His father marvelled and glorified God. ‫يجد في البحث عنه فلما عثر عليه عند القديس‬ When Isaac grew up, he wen t and became a monk ‫وطلب منه الذهاب معه أشار عليه معلمه أن‬ with a righteous man whose name was Elias, and he ‫يطيع والده ويعود معه فعاد ومكث حتى مات‬ lived with him for many years. After the departure ‫أبوه ففرق كل ما تركه له وانفرد في مكان بناه‬ of Anba Elias, he went to the mount of Barnug ‫لنفسه يبعد قليال عن المدينة وداوم علي النسك‬ and lived with an old man whose name was Anba ‫والعبادة إلى أن تنيح بسالم فدفنوه في محل‬ Zacharias. His father went about everywhere trying ‫الرب‬ ‫ ونسي مكانه وبعد سنين أراد‬. ‫عبادته‬ to find him. When he found his son living with St. ‫رآه‬ . ‫قبره‬ ‫إظهار جسده فظهر نور عظيم علي‬ Zacharias, he asked him to return with him. His ‫جماعة من الحصادين مدة ثالثة أيام متوالية‬ teacher Anba Zacharias advised him to obey his ‫ فجاء المؤمنون ورفعوا جسده ووضعوه‬. father and return with him.

He returned and stayed until his father›s departure. ‫علي جمل وساروا به حتى وصلوا إلى مكان‬ He distributed all what his father left him to the ‫بين هورين ونشرت فوقف الجمل عن السير‬ poor and needy. He then built for himself a place ‫ فعلموا أن هذا بإرادة الرب وبنوا في هذا‬. out side the city, where he dwelt there alone. He ‫ آمين‬. ‫ صالته تكون معنا‬. ‫المكان كنيسة‬ went on asceticism and worship until he departed in peace.

Meditations on the Holy Liturgy Bible readings ‫تأمالت في إنجيل القداس‬ The Glorious Feast of Resurrection ‫عيد القيامة المجيد‬ (John 20: 1-18) 18--1:20 ‫يو‬ 18 “He is risen! He is not here” (Mark 16:6) 6:16 ‫«قد قام وليس هو ههنا» مر‬ Today is the Glorious Feast of Resurrection, today the ‫ اليوم تفجرت‬،‫اليوم عيد القيامة المجيد‬ fountains of life has exploded open for mankind, today the ‫ اليوم فتحت أبواب‬،‫ينابيع الحياة للبشر‬ closed gates of Heavens has opened, today has returned to ‫ اليوم عاد المطرودين‬،‫السماء المغلقة‬ their place of comfort those who are, the disqualified, the ‫العذبين المسحوقين بنير هذا العالم إلى‬ banned and crushed with the world’s yoke, today the fiery ‫ اليوم رفع سيف النار‬،‫مكان راحتهم‬ sword which obstruct us from the everlasting life has been ‫الحياة‬ ‫المتقلب الذي يسد علينا طريق‬ lifted, the salves became free, today is a day of happiness ،‫أحرارا‬ ‫ اليوم أطلق العبيد‬،‫األبدية‬ and cheers as we say “O Death, where is your sting, O ‫ونتهلل‬ ‫نفرح‬ ،‫اليوم يوم فرح وانتصار‬ Hades, where is your victory” (1 Corinthian 5:55)? ‫ونقول أين شوكتك يا موت أين غلبتك‬ The resurrection has transformed all of mankind’s life! ‫يا هاوية؟‬ In the resurrection a new covenant began for without the ‫لقد غيرت القيامة حياة البشر كلها‬ resurrection, we were dead and now we are alive and free. ‫بالقيامة بدأ عهد جديد بدون القيامة كنا‬ If our Lord Jesus Christ is not Risen, then we are the most ،‫أمواتا وبالقيامة صرنا أحياء أحرارا‬ miserable and pitiful of all people and we would have an ‫فلو لم يكن السيد المسيح قد قام لكنا‬ empty faith (1Corinthian 15:14) and all of our labours ‫اتعس وأشقى جميع الناس ولكنا نعيش‬ are in vain. The Lord is Risen and opened for us the ‫في إيمان باطل وتعبنا كله يصير‬ way to heavens and given us a guarantee to liberty. The resurrection has transformed mankind understanding of life ‫باطالولكن قد قام الرب وفتح لنا طريق‬ and attitudes. ‫ القيامة‬.‫السماء وقدم لنا عربون الحرية‬ The resurrection has removed the bitterness of death .‫غيرت كل مفاهيم البشر ومبادءهم‬ and transformed the affliction of the law to blessings ‫القيامة أزالت مرارة الموت وحولت‬ and liberated the impasse of the rituals to freedom and ‫لعنة الناموس إلى بركة وحررت جمود‬ transcendence. Death became welcomed as the gate to ‫الطقس إلى حرية وانطالق فصار‬ paradise and removed the curse of the law (Galatians 3) and ‫الموت فرحا إذ صار هو الطريق إلى‬ thus the commandments became a release in God’s love to ‫الفردوس وزالت عنا لعنة الناموس‬ mankind and the fear of punishment is removed and freed ‫فصارت الوصايا هي انطالقا في‬ the rituals to combine with the spiritual and become a joyful ‫حب هللا والبشرية وزالت منها مرارة‬ life in heavens away from the sadness of life on earth! ‫العقوبة واالنتقام وانطلق الطقس ليمتزج‬ + O Death, where is your sting, O Hades, where is your ‫بروحانية عجيبة فيصير حياة فرح‬ victory” (1 Corinthian 5:55)? ‫أحزان‬ ‫نعيش بها في السماء بعيدا عن‬ In the resurrection, no longer death is final but a beginning, .‫األرض‬ before the resurrection, death was terrifying and frightening ‫يا‬ ‫غلبتك‬ ‫أين‬ ‫موت‬ ‫يا‬ ‫شوكتك‬ ‫ أين‬+ since death was associated with the hades, even the :‫هاوية‬ righteous and the virtuous had to spend a waiting period ‫في االقيامة لم يعد الموت موتا ولم‬ in hades which is painful and frightening awaiting the ‫يعد الموت نهاية بل بداية قبل القيامة‬ realisation of the promises till the Lord opens paradise with ‫كان الموت معناه مخيفا مرعبا فقد‬ His death on the Cross and His glorious resurrection. The ‫ارتبط الموت بالهاوية حتى األبرار‬ mention of death troubled the good and bad alike, so we find a righteous man and a saint like king Hezekiah when ‫والصديقون كان عليهم قضاء فترة‬ Isiah the prophet told him “Set your house in order, for you ‫انتظار مرعبة مؤلمة في الهاوية انتظارا‬ shall die, and not live” Hezekiah wept bitterly Then he ‫لتحقق المواعيد وحتى يفتح الرب‬ turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD, ‫الفردوس المغلق بموته على الصليب‬ saying, “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have ‫ فقد كان مجرد ذكر‬.‫وبقيامته المقدسة‬ walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have ‫الموت يتعب اإلنسان جدا األبرار‬ done what was good in Your sight.” (2 King 20:1-2), and ‫ فنجد إنسانا بارا وقديسا مثل‬،‫واألشرار‬ God added fifteen year to his years (2 Kings 20). ‫حزقيا الملك عندما أخبره أشعياء النبي‬ The book of Job is full of painful descriptions of death ‫أنه سوف يموت موتا وعليه أن يوصي‬ and hades and associates between death and darkness, sadness, misery and pain and much weeping for the dead. ‫ حزن جدا وحول وجهه إلى الحائط‬،‫بيته‬ We hear that the Israelites when Jacob died, their mourning ‫وبكى وصار يصلي ويقول انظر يا رب‬ and lamentations was great for seventy days and a further ‫كم سلكت باالستقامة أمامك ونظر الرب‬ ‫إلى دموعه وقبل صالته وأعطاه خمسة‬ seven days on his burial (Genesis 49). Also, when one

.‫عشر عاما زيادة على عمره‬ of their beloved righteous kings is dead, we hear of the ‫وسفر أيوب ملئ بالصفات المؤلمة‬ lamentations for Josiah. And to this day, all the singing men and the singing women speak of Josiah in their ‫للموت والهاوية ويربط بينه وبين الظلمة‬ lamentations. They made it a custom in Israel; and ‫والتعاسة والحزن واآللم وكان الحزن‬ indeed, they are written in the Laments (2 Chronicles ‫ فنسمع أن‬.‫والبكاء على األموات مفرطا‬ 35:25). Mankind has developed an art of mourning the ‫بني إسرائيل صنعوا مناحة كبيرة جدا‬ dead with much grief, weeping and lamentations which ‫عندما مات يعقوب لمدة سبعين يوما ثم‬ all is indicate that mankind sees death as a great loss ‫سبع أيام آخر عند دفنه وهكذا أيضا عندما‬ which cannot be restored! But all this have changed .‫يموت أحد ملوكهم األتقياء والمحبوبون‬ after the resurrection (of Christ) to the degree that, saints ‫فنسمع كيف حزنوا حزنا شديدا على مقتل‬ welcomed death with happiness and the martyrs welcome ‫) وصار المغنين‬35 ‫ أخبار األيام‬2( ‫يوشيا‬ death with joy and happily accepted pain, suffering and ‫والمغنيات يندبونه وجعلوها فريضة أبدية‬ persecution gladly.

We find St Peter sound a sleep with peace and joy at the ‫لرشاء يوشيا الملك وتفنن البشر في إظهار‬ very same night King Herod put him in prison intending ‫الحزن على الموتى من بكاء ونحيب وندب‬ to kill him (Acts 12), and Paul and Silas in prison singing ‫ورثاء وكلها عالمة على أن البشر يرون‬ ‫ ولكن‬.‫في الموت خسارة فادحة ال تعوض‬ hymns in joy praising God (Acts 16), and again St Ignatius (of Antioch) writes letters of encouragement and ‫كل هذا تغير بعد القيامة فصار القديسون‬ ‫يشتهون الموت وينتظرونه ويفرحون به‬ words of benefit to the faithful and his followers from ‫فنجد الشهداء يتقدمون للموت في فرح‬ his prison cell on his way to martyrdom, but he even .‫ويقبلون اآللم واالضطهاد في ابتهاج‬ requests that his followers do not stop him of becoming ‫فنجد بطرس في الليلة التي كان هيرودس‬ a martyr and eaten by lions and to find a tomb in the ‫مزمعا أن يقدمة فيها للموت فنجده نائما‬ lion’s stomachs. Similarly, St Polycarp showed joy for his martyrdom so that they might attain joyful and ‫في سالم وهدوء وفرح ونجد بولس‬ everlasting life in heavens. St Paul makes a comparison ‫وسيال في السجن يرتالن ويسبحان هللا‬ between life (on earth) and death by saying “having a ‫ونسمع عن الشهيد أغناطيوس الذي‬ desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better” ‫يكتب رسائل التشجيع والتعزية من سجنه‬ (Philippians 1:23). Because of this, the gospel tells us ‫ويعظ المؤمنين ويثبتهم وهو في طريقه‬ not to mourn like the those who have no hope for death ‫لالستشهاد ونجد القديس أغناطيوس يكتب‬ has become a yearning and blessing in the hearts of the ‫ألحباءه يرجوهم أن ال يتدخلوا لمنعه من‬ saints. ‫االستشهاد ويريدهم أن يتركوه لألسود‬ In the Resurrection we see heavens and long to live ‫لتأكله فيجد في أحشاءها قبرا وتطير روحه‬ in it and await the day that we are released from the ‫لألبدية المفرحة وعندما يقارن القديس‬ subjection of the physical Earthly body. Now, my ‫أن‬ ‫بولس الموت بالحياة يقول لي اشتهاء‬ beloved, do you live in the Resurrection Reflection or you still seeking the earthly pleasures and the attractions ‫انطلق وأكون مع المسيح ذلك أفضل جدا‬ ‫ولذلك يوصينا الكتاب أن ال نحزن مثل‬ and plant of Prior to the Resurrection? ‫الباقين الذين ال رجاء لهم فقد صار الموت‬ + He should Rise from the dead: .‫بركة وشهوة في قلب القديسين‬ Indeed, He is Risen and no longer the commandment ‫في القيامة أصبحنا نرى السماء ونتمنى‬ and the law are restrictions for mankind binding and ‫أن نعيش فيها وننتظر اليوم الذي ننطلق‬ hindering him engulfed with curses and threats if he ‫فيه من أسر الجسد إليها وأنت أيها الحبيب‬ acted outside the limited considerations of the law! ‫هل تعيش في فكر القيامة أم أنت ما زلت‬ The commandments of the law blended with the joy ‫تطلب أفراح األرض وما زلت تدور في‬ of the Resurrection on the Blood of the Cross with the exceeding Love of the Father for mankind in the Person ‫فلك وجاذبية ما قبل القيامة؟‬ of the Son and the thus the commandment has a much :‫ إنه ينبغي أن يقوم من األموات‬+ deeper and more beautiful meaning. ‫لقد قام حقا ولم تعد الوصية والناموس‬ No longer the commandment is anger and punishment ‫مجرد سجن يربط اإلنسان ويقيده ويعطله‬ but love, “no longer eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth ‫ويحيطه بلعنات وويالت إذا تحرك أو‬ but love your enemies, bless those who curse you,...and ‫تصرف بدون مفهوم الناموس الضيق‬ pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” ‫ لقد امتزجت وصايا الناموس‬،‫المتزمت‬ (Matthew 5:38-44). No enmity in the Resurrection and ‫بفرح القيامة بدم الصليب بمحبة اآلب‬ the foes transformed to beloved and no longer strangers ‫الفائقة للبشرية في شخص األبن وصار‬ to God but all became beloved sons and daughters. No .‫للوصية معنى أروع وأعمق‬ longer, man needs to prove his good intentions and ‫لم يعد في الوصية انتقام وغصب بل حب‬ takes an oath of God as witness and heavenly choirs

or the grace of life because in the Resurrection God has ‫فلم يعد هناك عين بعين وسن بسن بل‬ returned mankind to their love for one another and their ‫احبوا أعدائكم باركوا ألعينكم صلوا ألجل‬ trust in each other and made all members of His Body. All ‫ لم يعد هناك عداوة‬.‫الذين يسيئون إليكم‬ became part of Him and no longer strangers requiring an ‫في القيامة تحول األعداء إلى أحباء لم‬ intermediate moderator. The understanding of marriage ‫يعد هناك غرباء عن هللا بل صار الجميع‬ has reformed and no longer it is just a contractual ‫ لم يعد اإلنسان يحتاج أن‬.‫بنينا محبوبين‬ agreement or just a physical bond but they became a ‫يثبت حسن نيته ويحلف شهدا هللا ذاته‬ minor image of Christ’s unity to the Church. Marriage ‫وقوات السماء أو نعمة الحياة التي فيه‬ became a real unity in the Person of Christ our Heavenly ‫ففي القيامة أعاد هللا للبشر محبتهم بعضهم‬ Bridegroom, man and woman became glorified in a great ‫لبعض وثقتهم بعضهم لبعض جعلهم‬ sacrament both elevated to one body before God to inherit ‫جزءا‬ ‫جميعا أعضاء في جسده لقد صاروا‬ of God’s love in the heavenly realm which no one can ‫يحتاجون‬ ‫منه ولم يعودوا غرباء عنهم‬ utter of its beauty. No one can put asunder this holy tie, but whoever tries to separate this unity will be denounced ‫إلى وساطة خارجية تغير مفهموم الزواج‬ ‫لم يعد مجرد عقد أو ارتباط جسدي فقط‬ from his heavenly reward and is transformed from an ‫لقد صار صورة مصغرة التحاد المسيح‬ inheritor of the heavenly glory to an inheritor of the ‫ صار الزواج هو ارتباط فعلي‬.‫بالكنيسة‬ earth’s misery.

In the Resurrection, man has emerged from the physical ‫ صار‬،‫بشخص المسيح العريس السماوي‬ ‫الرجل والمرأة ممجدين في سر عظيم‬ limits to the heavenly glory, no longer mankind account ‫يرفعهما في جسد واحد أمام هللا ليرثوا معا‬ for the tithe but no longer account for his left does not ‫في حب ال ينطق به في الفرح السماوي‬ know what his right do! No longer, man will account before God with human numbers, but man transcends ‫ولذلك لم يعد ممكنا أن يفصل إنسان هذا‬ to the unlimited horizons of heavenly blessings which ‫الرباط المقدس بل من يحاول أن يلمس‬ is infinite. Even sin has lost it old meaning. Love, ‫وحدة هذا الرباط يحترق ويسقط من رتيته‬ Resurrection and The Cross made man’s heart like a ‫السمائية ويتحول من وارث لمجد السماء‬ musical instrument sensitive and tuned to be played by .‫إلى بائس في أوحال األرض‬ the Holy Spirit and how sweet is its tune! When the world ‫في القيامة خرج اإلنسان من الحدود‬ tries to interfere with one of its (the heart) strings, soon ‫ لم يعد اإلنسان‬،‫الحسية إلى مجد السماء‬ the off tune is apparent. ‫يحسب مجرد العشور بل لم يعد يحسب‬ Thus, a lustful look creates a disharmony and discord ‫إطالقا فلم يعد يعرف شماله ما تصنعه‬ in man’s heart and feels like an adulterer for losing ‫باألرقام‬ ‫ لم يعد اإلنسان يحاسب هللا‬.‫يمينه‬ his or her purity and chastity and one’s mouth become ‫غير‬ ‫األفاق‬ ‫البشرية بل صار يحلق في‬ sensitive even to a word like “fool” makes him feel he ‫حتى‬ ‫الالنهائية‬ ‫المحدودة لبركات السماء‬ deserves the fires of hell? No longer man complies with ،‫المحبة‬ .‫القديم‬ ‫الخطية فقدت معناها‬ the commandment in fear of punishment and curse but ‫ الصليب جعلت أوتار قلب‬،‫القيامة‬ because he has loved God enormously and is eager to ‫اإلنسان حساسة مشدودة متناغمة يعزف‬ go to heavens and does not want to lose his happiness ‫عليها الروح القدس أحلى نغماته وعندما‬ and grace which he has attained in the Resurrection! ‫يحاول العالم لمس أحد األوتار بسرعة‬ Committing sin not just an act requiring punishment and .‫ينكشف النشاز المؤلم‬ judgement, but it became an act which God’s loving heart, ‫فصارت نظرة الشهوة تخلق نشازا وقلقا‬ a crown of thorns which make His head bleed, a spear ‫في قلب اإلنسان فيشعر بأنه زاني فقد‬ which pierces His side and nails which penetrates and tear His hands and feet! Man became diligent not to injure ‫عفته وطهارته وصار الفم حساسا مجرد‬ God’s Loving Heart more than avoiding punishment and ‫كلمة يا أحمق تشعره أنه مستحق نار‬ what a difference between both status! The Christian man ‫ لم يعد اإلنسان ينفذ الوصية خوفا‬.‫جهنم‬ has become open message of love which over flows to all ‫من العقوبة واللعنة بل ألنه أحب هللا جدا‬ and reaches its effectiveness to all men. ‫وصار مشتاقا إلى السماء جدا وال يريد أن‬ And you my beloved has the Resurrection changed your ‫يفقد فرحه وسالمه الذي حصل عليه في‬ understanding of the commandments in your life? Are ‫ صار ارتكاب الخطية ليس مجرد‬،‫القيامة‬ just complying with the commandment or do you in the ‫عمال يستوجب الدينونة والعقوبة الرهيبة‬ commandment in a spiritual depth with joy and happiness ‫بل صار عمال يجرح قلب هللا المحب‬ and simpleness of heart?? ‫في‬ ‫تطعنه‬ ‫ حربة‬،‫إكليل شوك يدمي رأسه‬ + He is Risen: ‫صار‬ .‫ورجليه‬ ‫ مسامير تمزق يديه‬،‫جنبه‬ He is Risen and risen with Him, no longer we are just an ‫قلب‬ ‫يجرح‬ ‫ال‬ ‫اإلنسان يحرص على أن‬ offeror of a sacrifice before God to seek Gods absolution, ‫هللا المحب جدا أكثر مما يحرص على‬ for God has offered Himself a sacrifice of Love on

our behalf and we no longer live in the limited ‫تفادي العقوبة ويا للفارق بين الحالتين فقد صار‬ considerations of the sacrifices and purifications. ‫اإلنسان المسيحي عبارة عن رسالة حب فياضة‬ The rituals are no longer just instructions; do not, .‫على الجميع وتوصل مفعولها لكل إنسان‬ don’t touch this or eat this or drink that but we ‫وأنت أيها الحبيب هل غيرت القيامة مفهموم‬ live our rituals and it take us to heavens among the ‫الوصية في حياتك هل أنت مجرد منفذ للوصية‬ angels and with the saints before the throne of God ‫أم أنت تعيش في عمق الوصية في فرح وابتهاج‬ in great joy and glory. The church has become a ‫وبساطة قلب؟؟‬ beautiful heavenly icon which we enter to forget :‫ إنه قام‬+ the world and be with the heavenly realm. We left ‫قام وأقامنا معه لم نعد مجرد مقدمي ذبيحة يشتم‬ our eyes to see the Lord on the Cross inflicted for ‫منها هللا روح الرضا فقد قدم الرب نفسه ذبيحة‬ us and we see Him triumphant (Risen) ascended ‫والتطهيرات‬ ‫حب ألجلنا لم نعد نعيش مفهوم الذبائح‬ to heaven carrying us with Him. WE see those ‫تقرب‬ ‫وال‬ ‫تلمس‬ ‫الضيق مجرد نواهي وأوامر وال‬ who have succeeded and transcended to heaven ‫وال تأكل هذا أو ال تشرب ذاك لم يعد الطقس مجرد‬ looking st ud from their icons, encouraging us, ‫فرائض وغسالت جامدة جافة بل صرنا نعيش في‬ strengthening us and reminding us to safe guard ‫الطقس ويحلق بنا الطقس في السماء بين المالئكة‬ our garment of grace and purity which we gained .‫والقديسين أمام عرش هللا في فرح ومجد عظيم‬ in Baptism. We look at their end and follow ‫صارت الكنيسة أيقونة سماوية جميلة ورائعة ندخل‬ in their faith. The Holy Liturgy became Holy Communion with God and no longer we are mere ‫ نرفع‬،‫إليها وننسى العالم ونصير بين سكان السماء‬ ‫أعيننا إلى فوق ونرى الرب على الصليب مذبوحا‬ spectators with no right to approach or touch, but the Lord has opened for us His Heart to enter ‫ألجلنا ونراه منتصرا قائما منطلقا وهو يحملنا معه‬ and be comforted. To sit under His feet and we ‫إلى السماء ونرى هؤالء الذين انتصروا انطلقوا‬ accompany Him on His journey to the Cross as ‫ينظرون إلينا من خالل أيقوناتهم ويشجعوننا ويقوننا‬ He reconcile us with His Blood on the Cross. We ‫ويذكروننا بأن نحافظ على ثوب النعمة والبر الذي‬ now allowed to approach and touch Him and live ‫لبسناه في المعمودية وننظر إلى نهاية سيرتهم‬ in Him. But we eat and drink Him and amazing ‫ صار القداس اإللهي لنا هو‬.‫ونقتدي بهم في إيمانهم‬ and glorious is our joy with this sacrament which ‫شركة مقدسة مع هللا لم نعد مجرد متفرجين ال حق‬ we can See Him and live in Him. The Church ‫لنا أن نقترب أو نلمس بل فتح لنا الرب قلبه فصرنا‬ Sacraments no longer just a prophecy or symbols ‫ندخل ونرتاح معه ونجلس تحت قدميه وصرنا‬ and indications but it became a true spring of life. ‫نسير معه في رحلته إلى الصليب صانعا صلحا بدم‬ A spring of healing from physical and spiritual ‫ بل‬.‫الصليب وتجرأنا وتقدمنا ولمسناه وعشنا فيه‬ ailments and all of this we see His Resurrection ‫صرنا نأكله ونشرب منه ويا للفرح العجيب ويا‬ and His Glory, and our hearts are ignited with His ‫أسرار‬ ،‫للسر العظيم الذي صرنا نعاينه ونعيش فيه‬ Love. Our eyes were opened to see Him, and our ‫بل‬ ‫ورموز‬ ‫الكنيسة لم تعد مجرد نبوات أو إشارات‬ hearts are unlocked to be filled with the fruits of ‫صارت ينبوع حياة حقيقي ينبوع شفاء من أمراض‬ the Holy Spirit which He poured abundantly for ‫الروح والجسد وفي كل هذا صرنا نعاين قيامته‬ us. ‫ انفتحت أعيننا‬.‫ومجده وصارت قلوبنا ملتهبه بحبه‬ He is Risen and became the first fruit of those ‫فأبصرناه وانفتحت قلوبنا فأمتألنا من مواهب الروح‬ who slept (1 Corinthian 15:20), but we became .‫القدس التي أفاضها بغزارة علينا‬ alive and we have a share in heavens. And you my ‫إنه قام وصار باكورة الراقدين وبه صرنا أحياء‬ beloved, have you raised with our Lord Christ? ‫وصار لنا نصيب في السماء وأنت أيها الحبيب‬ Have you transcended with Him or you still live within your physical and limited narrow means? ‫هل قمت مع السيد المسيح؟ هل أنت قد انطلقت‬ Are you sitting behind closed doors and scared? ‫معه أم ما زلت تعيش في حدودك الجسدية الضيقة‬ Come forth and transcend for closed doors are ‫المتزمتة؟ هل أنت ما زلت تجلس خائفا وراء‬ no longer an obstacle for us to soar into heavenly ‫األبواب المغلقة؟ اخرج انطلق لم تعد األبواب‬ realms. Are you still sitting among the graves ‫ هل ما‬.‫المغلقة تمنعنا من التحليق في السماويات‬ wallowing in the world sadness? Left up your eyes ‫ ارفع‬،‫زلت تجلس بين القبور في أحزان العالم‬ to above, the Lord is Risen, and death has no rule ‫أعينك إلى فوق لقد قام الرب ولم يعد للموت سلطان‬ over you from now on. Martyrdom of St.Boctor Ebn Romanus 5th May - 27th Baramoda On this day, which coincided with the 26th. of April 68 A.D., the great apostle St. Mark, the evangelist of the land of Egypt, was martyred. He was the first Pope of Alexandria and one of the Seventy Apostles.

His name was John, as the Holy Bible says: “He came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying” (Acts 12:12). He was the one that the Lord Christ, to Whom is the glory, meant when He said: “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples” (Matthew 26:18).

His house was the first Christian church, where they ate the Passover, hid after the death of the Lord Christ, and in its upper room the Holy Spirit came upon them.

This Saint was born in Cyrene (One of the Five Western cities, Pentapolis - in North Africa). His father’s name was Aristopolus and his mother’s name was Mary. They were Jewish in faith, rich and of great honor. They educated him with the Greek and Hebrew cultures. He was called Mark after they emigrated to Jerusalem, where St. Peter had become a disciple to the Lord Christ. St. Peter was married to the cousin of Aristopolus. Mark visited St. Peter’s house often, and from him he learned the Christian teachings.

Once Aristopolus and his son Mark were walking near the Jordan river, close by the desert, they encountered a raving lion and a lioness. It was evident to Aristopolus that it would be his end and the end of his Son, Mark. His compassion for his son compelled him to order him to escape to save himself. Mark answered, “Christ, in whose hands our lives are committed, will not let them prey on us.” Saying this, he prayed, “O, Christ, Son of God protect us from the evil of these two beasts and terminate their offspring from this wilderness.” Immediately, God granted this prayer, and the two beasts fell dead. His father marvelled and asked his son to tell him about the Lord Christ. He believed in the Lord Christ at the hands of his son who baptized him.

After the ascension of the Lord Christ, he accompanied Paul and Barnabas to preach the Gospel in Antioch, Seleucia, Cyprus, Salamis, and Perga Pamphylia where he left them and returned to Jerusalem. After the Apostolic Council in Jerusalem, he went with Barnabas to Cyprus.

After the departure of Barnabas, with the order of the Lord Christ, St. Mark went to Afrikia, Berka, and the Five Western cities. He preached the Gospel in these parts, and believed on his hands most of its people. From there, he went to Alexandria in the 1st. of Bashans 61 A.D. When he entered the city, his shoe was torn because of the much walking in preaching and evangelism. He went to a cobbler in the city, called Anianus, to repair it. While he was repairing it the awl pierced his finger. Anianus shouted in Greek saying “EIS THEOS” which means “O, ONE GOD”. When St. Mark heard these words his heart rejoiced exceedingly. He found it suitable to talk to him about the One God. The Apostle took some clay, spat on it and applied it to Anianus’ finger, saying in the Name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the wound healed immediately, as if nothing happened to it. Moses, who brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, and gave them the Law, the captivity of the children of Israel to Babylon, and the prophecies that foretold the coming of Christ.

Anianus invited him to go to his house and brought to him his children. The Saint preached and baptized them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

When the believers in the Name of Christ increased and the pagan people of the city heard that, they were raged with anger and thought of slaying St. Mark. The faithful

advised him to get away for a short while for the sake of the safety of the church and its care. St. Mark ordained St. Anianus a Bishop for Alexandria, three priests and seven deacons. He went to the Five Western Cities, remained there for two years preaching, and ordained bishops, priests, and deacons.

He returned to Alexandria where he found the believers had increased in number, and built a church for them in the place known as Bokalia (The place of cows), east of Alexandria on the sea shore.

It came to pass, when he was celebrating the feast of the Resurrection on the 29th day of Baramudah, year 68 A.D., the same day coincided with the great pagan Celebration for the feast of the god Syrabis, a multitude of them assembled and attacked the church at Bokalia and forced their way in. They seized St. Mark, bound him with a thick rope and dragged him in the roads and streets crying, “Drag the dragon to the place of Cows.” They continued dragging him with severe cruelty. His flesh was torn and scattered everywhere, and the ground of the city was covered with his blood. They cast him that night into a dark prison.

The angel of the Lord appeared to him and told him: “O Mark, the good servant, rejoice for your name has been written in the book of life, and you have been counted among the congregation of the saints.” The angel disappeared, then the Lord Christ appeared to him, and gave him peace. His soul rejoiced and was glad.

The next morning (30th of Baramudah), the pagans took St. Mark from the prison.

They tied his neck with a thick rope and did the same as the day before, dragging him over the rocks and stones. Finally, St. Mark delivered up his pure soul in the hand of God, and received the crown of martyrdom, the apostolic crown, the crown of evangelism, and the crown of virginity.

Nevertheless, St. Mark’s death did not satisfy the rage of the pagans and their hatred.

They gathered much firewood and prepared an inferno to burn him. A severe storm blew and heavy rains fell. The pagans became frightened, and they fled away in fear.

The believers came and took the holy body, carried it to the church they built at Bokalia, wrapped it up, prayed over him and place it in a coffin. They laid it in a secret place in this church.

‫»استَ ْيقِ ْ‬ ‫اس‬ ‫م«‬ ‫» ْ‬ ‫ظ أَ ُّ‬ ‫ي َ‬ ‫ها النَّائِ ُ‬ ‫نيافة األنبا موسى‬ ‫مع أحداث القيامة المجيدة‪ ،‬نطلب من الرب أن ينقذ البشرية‪ ،‬من وباء‬ ‫«الكورونا» الذي ضرب العالم كله‪ ،‬فهو القادر أن يبيده بنفخة فمه‪ ،‬ويعطينا‬ ‫ستَ ْيقِ ْ‬ ‫قوة قيامته المجيدة‪..‬قال معلمنا بولس الرسول‪« -:‬ا ْ‬ ‫ظ أَيُّهَا النَّائِ ُم (قيامة‬ ‫ُضي َء لَكَ ْال َم ِسي ُح (قيامة األجساد)» (أف‪.)14 :5‬‬ ‫ت فَي ِ‬ ‫التوبة)‪َ -،‬وقُ ْم ِمنَ األَ ْم َوا ِ‬ ‫فالقيامة من األموات في الفهم الكتابي والالهوتي ال تعني فقط قيامة الجسد بعد‬ ‫وسكنى هللا في‬ ‫الموت‪ ،‬بل تعني أيضً ا‪ -:‬قيامة الروح من الخطية‪..‬‬ ‫داخل اإلنسان‪ ..‬تمهيدًا للقيامة بعد الموت!!إ ًذا فهناك قيامتان‪ :‬القيامة األولى‪:‬‬ ‫قيامة التوبة‪ .‬القيامة الثانية‪ :‬قيامة األجساد‪ - .‬القيامة األولى‪ :‬قيامة التوبة‪:‬وهي‬ ‫«وإِ ْذ ُك ْنتُ ْم أ ْم َواتًا فِي ْالخَ طَايَا َو َ‬ ‫س ِد ُك ْم‪ ،‬أحْ يَا ُك ْم‬ ‫ف َج َ‬ ‫غلَ ِ‬ ‫أن نقوم من قبور الخطية َ‬ ‫َم َعهُ» (كو‪ -1.)13 :2‬والخطيئة في معناها األصيل (آمارتيا) = ومعناها‬ ‫«الخطأ في التهديف»‪ -2.‬أ ّما التوبة فمعناها «ميطانيا» بمعنى «»تغيير الفكر»‬ ‫ار ٌ‬ ‫ك‬ ‫أو «تجديد الذهن»‪.‬فالتوبة هي» القيامة األولى» كقول الكتاب‪ُ « -:‬مبَ َ‬ ‫ت‬ ‫َصيبٌ فِي ْالقِيَا َم ِة األُولَى (قيامة التوبة)‪ ،‬هَ ُؤالَ ِء لَي َ‬ ‫ْس لِ ْل َموْ ِ‬ ‫َو ُمقَ َّدسٌ َم ْن لَهُ ن ِ‬ ‫سيَ ُكونُونَ َكهَنَةً‬ ‫الثَّانِي (الموت األبدي بعد الموت الجسدي) س ُْلطَ ٌ‬ ‫ان َ‬ ‫علَ ْي ِه ْم‪ ،‬بَلْ َ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫سنَ ٍة» (رؤ‪« -.)6 :20‬الَّ ِذينَ قُتِلُوا ِم ْن أَجْ ِل‬ ‫سيَ ْملِ ُكونَ َم َعهُ أَ ْلفَ َ‬ ‫يح‪َ ،‬و َ‬ ‫ِ َّلِ َوال َم ِس ِ‬ ‫ش (الشيطان)‪َ ،‬والَ‬ ‫َ‬ ‫ع َو ِم ْن أَجْ ِل َكلِ َم ِة هللاِ‪ ،‬والَّ ِذينَ لَ ْم يَ ْ‬ ‫شهَا َد ِة يَسُو َ‬ ‫س ُج ُدوا لِ ْل َوحْ ِ‬ ‫علَى‬ ‫ُورتِ ِه (النبي الكذاب)‪َ ،‬ولَ ْم يَ ْقبَلُوا ال ِّ‬ ‫علَى ِجبَا ِه ِه ْم َو َ‬ ‫س َمةَ (سمة الشيطان) َ‬ ‫لِص َ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫أَ ْي ِدي ِه ْم‪ ،‬فَ َعا ُ‬ ‫سنَ ٍة» (رؤ‪ .)4 :20‬أ ّما األلف سنة فهي‬ ‫يح أَ ْلفَ َ‬ ‫شوا َو َملَ ُكوا َم َع ال َم ِس ِ‬ ‫مدة وجود هذا العالم‪ ..‬حيث أن رقم «‪ »10‬يشير إلى اإلنسان‪ ،‬إذ يملك ‪10‬‬ ‫أصابع في كل من يديه وقدميه‪ ..‬والـ»‪ »100‬ترمز إلى القرن‪ ،‬أي الزمن‪..‬‬ ‫اإلنسان × الزمن = ‪ 1000=100×10‬فبعد الزمن تأتي القيامة المجيدة‪.‬‬ ‫لذلك فقيامة التوبة‪ ،‬هي االنتماء للمسيح‪ ،‬ومعنى حمل سمته على جباههم (أي‬ ‫عقولهم) وأيديهم (أي أعمالهم)‪ ..‬أي أن تكون أفكارهم وتصرفاتهم شاهدة‬ ‫لمسيح القيامة‪ - ..‬القيامة الثانية ‪ :‬قيامة األجساد‪:‬وهي التي فيها يأتي رب‬ ‫المجد يسوع مرة ثانية‪ ،‬في «المجيء الثاني»‪ ،‬بعد المجيء األول في التجسد‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كامل في الرسالة األولى إلى‬ ‫وقد أفرد لها معلمنا بولس الرسول إصحاحً ا‬ ‫كورنثوس (إصحاح ‪« :)15‬كيف يقام األموات؟» إذ تحدث عن جسدنا ً‬ ‫قائل‬ ‫سا ٍد!» (‪1‬كو‪« -.)42 :15‬ي ُْز َر ُ‬ ‫أنه‪« -:‬ي ُْز َر ُ‬ ‫ع فِي‬ ‫سا ٍد‪َ ..‬ويُقَا ُم فِي َ‬ ‫عد َِم فَ َ‬ ‫ع فِي فَ َ‬ ‫ان‪َ ..‬ويُقَا ُم فِي َمجْ ٍد!» (‪1‬كو‪« -.)43 :15‬ي ُْز َر ُ‬ ‫س ًما َحيَ َوانِيًّا‪َ ..‬ويُقَا ُم ِج ْ‬ ‫ع ِج ْ‬ ‫س ًما‬ ‫ه َ​َو ٍ‬ ‫ُوحانِيًّا!» (‪1‬كو‪.)44 :15‬كل عام وجميعكم بخير‬ ‫‪،،،‬ر َ‬

‫القيامة‪ ...‬فرحتنا‬ ‫قداسة البابا تواضروس الثانى‬

‫«المسيح قام‪ ..‬حقًا قام»هذه هي تحية القيامة المجيدة وهي تحية إيمانية تقليدية تقدم الصورة‬ ‫المختصرة إليماننا المستقيم ألن قيامة السيد المسيح هي قمة أفراحنا‪ .‬وكما نعرف فإن كلمة‬ ‫‪ .Good‬وذلك ألن‬ ‫«اإلنجيل» تعني «البشارة ال ُمفرحة» أو «األخبار السارة» ‪.Good News‬‬ ‫اإلنجيليين كتبوا بشائرهم في ضوء القيامة‪ ،‬بمعنى أن القيامة هي التي أعطت لألحداث‬ ‫معناها‪ ،‬ألنه لوال القيامة لما كان هناك كنيسة وال إنجيل‪ ،‬وهذا يعني أن نور القيامة وفرحة‬ ‫القيامة تش ّع في كل كتابات البشائر والرسائل واألسفار في العهد الجديد‪ ،‬ومن هنا جاءت‬ ‫تسمية «اإلنجيل»‪.‬في محضر المسيح القائم‪ ،‬الفرح طبيعي‪ ،‬ألن جوهر هللا األعمق هو‬ ‫المحبة‪ ،‬والمحبة هي أعمق ما يفرح قلب اإلنسان‪ .‬الفرح إحساس بالرضا الذي يسود النفس‬ ‫اإلنسانية التي تتذوق قيامة المسيح‪ .‬وهذا اإلحساس العميق هو أوسع وأعمق من أي إحساس‬ ‫بأيّة ّلذة مؤقتة‪ .‬وعندما يستقر الفرح – فرح القيامة – في القلب‪ ،‬تنبع منه الحياة المتغيرة‬ ‫إلى الخارج‪ ،‬وهذا ما قاله السيد المسيح لتالميذه في الليلة السابقة لصلبه‪َ »:‬كلَّ ْمتُ ُك ْم بِه َذا لِ َك ْي‬ ‫‪ .)11‬إن محبة هللا الفيّاضة لنا نحن البشر‬ ‫‪.)11 ::15‬‬ ‫يَ ْثبُتَ فَ َر ِحي فِي ُك ْم َويُ ْك َم َل فَ َر ُح ُك ْم« (يوحنا ‪15‬‬ ‫جعلته يُصلب ويتألم ويقوم من أجلنا‪ ،‬فكانت قيامته هي فرحة حياتنا التي تمأل قلوبنا‪ ،‬وعندها‬ ‫نستطيع أن نصنع السالم مع كل أحد ومن أجل كل أحد‪.‬لقد عاشت البشرية تبحث عن الفرح‬ ‫والسعادة في شتى المجاالت مثل المال أو السلطة أو األخالق أو السياسة أو االقتصاد أو‬ ‫التكنولوچيا أو العلم أو الفلسفة أو الفن بكل أشكاله‪ ...‬إلى آخر هذه القائمة الطويلة‪ ..‬ولكن ما‬ ‫تحقق من فرح وسعادة كان قليالً ونسبيًا ومؤقتًا‪ ،‬وسرعان ما يزول أثره‪ ...‬ووصل األمر‬ ‫إلى متاهات اإللحاد حتى قال أحدهم إن اإللحاد هو األسلوب العلمي الصحيح!!! (الفيلسوف‬ ‫رينوڤييه)‪ ..‬لقد مرّت على التاريخ اإلنساني أربع ثورات متعاقبة حولت وأثرت على مفاهيم‬ ‫السعادة والفرح في حياة البشر وهي‪ :‬ثورة اآللة البخارية‪ ،‬ثم ثورة الكهرباء‪ ،‬ثم ثورة الطاقة‬ ‫الذرية‪ ،‬ثم ثورة الكمبيوتر وتوابعه‪ .‬وتاه اإلنسان وسط هذه الثورات المتتالية ولم يشبع بعد‪،‬‬ ‫حتى أن األم تريزا – صديقة الفقراء – عبرت عن ذلك بهذه الكلمات‪« :‬لقد كبرت المنازل‬ ‫وصغرت األسر‪ ،‬تطور الطب وازدادت األمراض‪ ،‬زادت األموال وقلّت الصدقة‪ُ ،‬وجد‬ ‫األمن وتالشت راحة البال‪ ،‬زادت المعرفة وقلّت الحكمة‪ ،‬كثر األصدقاء االفتراضيون (على‬ ‫شبكات التواصل االجتماعي) واختفى الحقيقيون‪ ،‬تنوعت الساعات وقلّت قيمة الوقت‪ ،‬كثر‬ ‫البشر وفُقدت اإلنسانية»‪.‬وجاءت قيامة المسيح لتعبر باإلنسان من حال الحياة التي بال معنى‬ ‫إلى الحياة الحقيقية‪ ،‬وصار العبور أو الفصح هو الموقف االنتقالي الذي يضمن لإلنسان‬ ‫فرحًا حقيقيًا كما اختبره بولس الرسول بقوله‪» :‬ألَ ْع ِرفَهُ‪َ ،‬وقُ َّوةَ قِيَا َمتِ ِه‪َ ،‬و َش ِر َكةَ آالَ ِم ِه‪ُ ،‬متَ َشبِّهًا‬ ‫‪ )11‬وكما َعبَّ َر اإلنجيل عن فرحة‬ ‫‪)11 ،،10‬‬ ‫‪10 ::2‬‬ ‫ت« (فيلبي ‪2‬‬ ‫بِ َموْ تِ ِه‪ ،‬لَ َعلِّي أَ ْبلُ ُغ إِلَى قِيَا َم ِة األَ ْم َوا ِ‬ ‫َ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫‪ )20:20‬ولهذا جعلت‬ ‫التالميذ وقت قيامته‪ ...» .‬فَفَ ِر َح التَّالَ ِميذ إِذ َرأوْ ا الرَّبَّ « (يوحنا ‪)20:20‬‬ ‫الكنيسة فرحتنا بالقيامة المجيدة على أربعة مستويات‪ +:‬كل يوم في صالة باكر التي نفتتح‬ ‫بها النهار‪ +.‬كل أسبوع في يوم األحد اليوم الذي صنعه الرب‪ +.‬كل شهر قبطي في اليوم‬ ‫‪ 29‬منه تذكارات القيامة والميالد والبشارة‪ +.‬كل سنة في فترة الخمسين المقدس التي تعقب‬ ‫عيد القيامة‪.‬أيها الحبيب عش فرحة القيامة كل يوم لتكون إنسانًا سعيدًا ومتهلالً‪ ،‬وااذكر‬ ‫الكلمات األولى في تسبحة نصف الليل كل يوم حين نقول‪« :‬قوموا يا بني النور لنسبح رب‬ ‫القوات‪»...‬اخرستوس آنيستي‪ ..‬آليثوس آنيستي‬

We also kindly ask you to hold only one account per household and delete any duplicate or unused accounts.

The Church App will be used for the church services like Visitations and Sunday School services. If anyone needs help to do so, please reach out to our blessed IT servants (Mr George Fam, Dr Nabil Youssef, Mr Ruies Zakhary and Mr Robear Hanna) or ask one of the Fathers. New Buildings works starting 21st March 2022 Buildings has been evacuated. Power and gas have been disconnected ready for the construction works. The new Building is expected to be ready within 12 months. church services are continuing as normal as in the Timetable inside the Bulletin.
