From Frost-trol we are firmly committed to the use of ecofriendly natural refrigerants in all our cabinets, both in the Supermarket range, with our CO2-based solutions, and in our line of plug-in in which we incorporate propane as a refrigerant. With excellent thermodynamic characteristics, both solutions have good energy performances and also allow our customers to adapt easily to the different regulations in force in this area, such as the European F-Gas Directive, helping to achieve the objective of progressively reducing the use of refrigerants with a high rate of atmospheric heating.

At Frost-trol we are very aware of this, and that is why we are committed to the use of CO2 in our remote cabinets, offering a wide range of products since 2011 that cover the needs of the market, meeting the objectives set out in the different regulations and allowing our customers to advance this change that presents itself as a common challenge for all humanity , thereby curbing the destruction of the ozone layer and global warming.
SOLUTION TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS Current environmental regulations and industry knowledge of food distribution on the adverse effects the sector causes on the environment have promoted the search for alternative solutions to current refrigerant fluids (HFCs). In this sense, solutions based on natural fluids such as hydrocarbons (R290), carbon dioxide (R744), and ammonia (NH3) have been proposed for a few years, which have a low GWP index. Steam compression cooling systems that use CO2 are widely accepted due to low GWP, low cost, high energy-saving potential, and non-toxic fluid, so it is considered environmentally safe.
