You can hunt for rising fish and concentrate on casting dry flies, sit back and relax in a drift boat and catch fish all day long on nymphs, or work the runs with a streamer. Spilling out of the Yellowtail reservoir, with more than 6,000 browns and rainbows per mile (MT F&G numbers), you’ll catch fish anyway you choose. The Bighorn is a gentle, easy to wade river and while it is popular, there are many side channels to explore, where you may not see another fisherman for hours. Want to catch fish? What to Expect • At certain times of the year (including August & September), the midges can be scooped up by the handful and the midge scum lines are thicker than almost anywhere else.

• Located a couple hundred yards from the 3-mile access, means you can be two minutes away from your put-in at the beginning of the day • There are big fish that the late summer hopper fishing can produce, the quiet summer evenings with swarms of black caddis on the water, fish rising, and no one in sight.

About the Lodge

Kingfisher Lodge: Expertly owned and operated by Matt and Keri McMeans, Kingfisher Lodge has been guiding fly fishing anglers on the Bighorn River in south-central Montana since the river opened to the public in 1981. The combination of quality guides at this world-renowned trout fishery along with comfortable accommodations and homecooked meals make for the fly fishing vacation of a lifetime. The river is acknowledged as one of the greatest trout fisheries in the world, and is considered by many to be the best blueribbon trout stream in the Lower 48.

About Barry & Cathy Beck Longtime Frontiers trip hosts and photographers, the Becks travel far and wide to follow their love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 20 year career.

Their most recent books include Cathy Beck’s Fly Fishing Handbook, now in its third edition; Fly Waters Near and Far, a coffee table book of photographs, and a soon-to-be-released book on Alaska.

Proposed Itinerary for August 19 - August 26, 2017 Saturday, August 19

Arrive at the Billings Logan Airport Upon your arrival at the Billings Airport, please claim your bags and proceed to the waiting area by the Visitor’s Information Booth. Barry and Cathy Beck will meet and transfer you to the lodge (approximately a 90-minute drive). You will depart the airport no later than 2:30 PM. Note: Please plan on stopping along the way for any libations (beer/wine/ hard alcohol) you may wish to have during your stay as the lodge does not provide alcoholic beverages.

At the lodge, you will be shown to your accommodations and given a brief orientation. After dinner, enjoy your first night at Kingfisher Lodge.

Cell Phone and Internet Service: There is some cell phone serice at the lodge. Kingfisher Lodge has a computer and printer in the business center for guests’ use during their stay and wireless internet is available throughout the lodge.

Sunday, August 20 - Friday, August 25

Enjoy six full days of fly fishing on the Bighorn River. Breakfast is provided each morning with lunch served streamside daily. Upon completion of fishing each day, dinner will be served. Enjoy continued overnight accommodations at Kingfisher Lodge.

Saturday, August 26

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Billings Logan Airport to check in for your return flight.

Depart Billings.

Rates Kingfisher Lodge 7-night / 6-day fishing package based on double occupancy / shared guide: $3,945* 7-night / 6-day fishing package based on single occupancy / single guide: $5,645* Deposits payment refund policy: A non-refundable deposit of 50 per cent of the land cost is due at time of reservation.

Balance payable at time of final land package invoicing. Final / full payment is also non-refundable unless client replacement is provided.
