A Barry & Cathy Beck Departure November 25 - December 6, 2016 Tres Valles Lodge

Field Experience You Can Trust

Why Barry & Cathy Beck Return to Argentina Dear Traveler, As trip hosts, the answer is simple, it’s dependable. But it’s more than just great fishing. It’s the culture of the country and weather that is pretty predictable. It’s the American West without the people and the progress of the last 100 years. The vastness sometimes overwhelms us and one trip is seldom enough for anyone. The lodges that we visit each year are the best that Patagonia has to offer. While each is distinctively different, in many ways they are also similar. They are the best of the best. Tres Valles Lodge Talk about the road less traveled and you must think of Tres Valles, Argentina. You may not meet another car for the last hour or more, but chances are pretty good of meeting a horse and gaucho. As you begin to wind your way back into the foothills of the Andes, you’ll be thinking that this is some of the most beautiful country you’ve ever seen. And just when you think it can’t get any prettier, you’ll start to catch glimpses of water and soon Lago Tres Valles comes into view with snow-capped Andes as a back drop and you’ll be speechless. Tres Valles Estancia is a major cattle operation on the outside, but “back by the lake” is a beautiful new fly fishing lodge with an excellent staff of guides, superb fishing, wonderful accommodations and dining. You’ll be met by Simon and Guillermina and soon fall in love with them and their warm easy style of hospitality. Here you will find more fishing than you can get to in a week, a year, maybe a lifetime. Fish different rivers, streams, and spring creeks daily. There is fishing in every direction from the lodge and the fish are hungry and willing to eat dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. We have a deep love for Patagonia and this particular estancia. There is a magnetic force that pulls us back year after year. Sincerely,

Extend Your Fishing Experience All fishing at Tres Valles Lodge requires flights in and out of Buenos Aires, an active city with much to offer, regardless of the number of times you’ve been there. With its tree-lined streets, grand old buildings, a café on nearly every corner, and some of the best restaurants on the continent, it isn’t for nothing they call it the Paris of South America. Frontiers can arrange a private visit to the Evita Museum, an evening at a milonga where the locals go to tango, a visit to a silversmith’s workshop, or if you happen to be there on a Sunday, a stroll through the famous San Telmo Antiques Market. We strongly suggest at least a two day extension to take full opportunity of your time there.

Your Airline Connection In addition to providing a superior experience while you’re fishing in South America, the Airline Department at Frontiers can coordinate all of your travel logistics to and from Buenos Aires. LAN Airlines, our preferred airline partner to Argentina, was recently voted 2014’s Best Business Class to Latin America / South America. They were the first carrier flying between the USA and South America to offer a fully flat bed in their premium cabin in this market, and are offered on all of their 767 and 787 aircrafts. The Premium Business cabin is arranged in a 2 – 2 – 2 configuration with all seats facing forward, making them perfect for any traveler. The generous 74-inch pitch and fixed shell seat back eliminates the ‘climb over’ problem faced by window seat occupants on other airlines and the variable seat width provides a high level of comfort.
