Taking Your Travel Experience Further: The Escorted Group Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Escort Group Departure hosts, Barry & Cathy Beck return annually (sometimes bi-annually) to Argentina. What’s makes Argentina so special? Why We Return to Argentina Every Year Dear Traveler, As trip hosts, the answer is simple, it’s dependable. But it’s more than just great fishing. It’s the culture of the country and weather that is pretty predictable. It’s the American West without the people and the progress of the last 100 years. The vastness sometimes overwhelms us and one trip is seldom enough for anyone. The lodges that we visit each year are the best that Patagonia has to offer. While each is distinctively different, in many ways they are also similar. They are the best of the best. Estancia San Huberto This Olsen family has held stewardship over the Rio Malleo for many generations. The late Ernest Schweibert once described the Malleo as the Queen of all Spring Creeks. Managed in European style, its many beats offer a variety of fishing opportunities. There is the weed choked channels of the Henry’s Fork, the riffles and runs of the Canyon, the cut bank at Andino’s, and the list goes on and on. There is more water here than one can fish. It can be hatch-matching at its best, or simply casting attractor flies to likely looking places, the choice is yours. Over the years we’ve come to know the Olsen family not just as hosts but as dear friends. We’ve watched the progression from Carlos and Carmen to their son Ronnie and his wife, Marianna, who are following in the family tradition of exceptional hospitality. A trip to Patagonia would not be complete without a visit to San Huberto. Estancia Quemquemtreu There is a timelessness about Estancia Quemquemtreu. Years ago the ranch boasted a million acres but even now while about a quarter of its original size, it’s still vast and impressive. Guests to Estancia Quemquemtreu experience a working ranch and are just as likely to encounter a gaucho on horseback with his dogs moving a few head of cattle as a new truck pulling a skiff returning from a day of fishing on the nearby Rio Collon Cura. Managers, Paula and Martin, are the best and it won’t be long until they’ll have you feeling like family. The river itself is also big and impressive, but like the ranch that it flows through, it is full of interesting attributes -- long runs along high cut banks complete with burrowing swallow nests, side channels, log jams, hidden lagoons, flats. We have often stopped to watch wild boar with young in tow and magnificent red stag as they perform their mating ritual. And let’s not forget the fish, wild and beautiful browns and rainbows. We often say that this river is where you get your fish fix. It’s full of fish and fun to float and cast from the skiff or get out and walk wade. The Collon Cura offers something for everyone, you can strip streamers, drift nymphs, or cast dry flies. It will keep you happy and keep you coming back for more. We have a deep love for Patagonia and these estancias. There is a magnetic force that pulls us back year after year. Sincerely, Cathy & Barry

Your Airline Connection to Argentina In addition to providing a superior experience while you’re fishing in South America, the Airline Department at Frontiers can coordinate all of your travel logistics to and from Buenos Aires. LAN Airlines, our preferred airline partner to Argentina, was recently voted 2014’s Best Business Class to Latin America/South America. They were the first carrier flying between the USA and South America to offer a fully flat bed in their premium cabin in this market, and are offered on all of their 767 and 787 aircrafts. The Premium Business cabin is arranged in a 2 – 2 – 2 configuration with all seats facing forward, making them perfect for any traveler. The generous 74-inch pitch and fixed shell seat back eliminates the ‘climb over’ problem faced by window seat occupants on other airlines and the variable seat width provides a high level of comfort. * Itinerary subject to change
