Petition calls for removal of school boss AN online petition has been launched that calls for the removal of the chief executive principal at the Ridings Federation of Academies. It was set up as efforts continue to resolve problems between teachers and management at Winterbourne International Academy, which led to three days of strike action. The stoppages involved 100 members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT), who said there had been a breakdown in relations between the majority of teachers and the managers. Further strikes were suspended after “productive discussions” and the start of a review into the concerns of teachers. A packed meeting for parents of the academy’s students was also held, when they heard from teaching staff and managers. But the petition was continuing as Frome Valley Voice went to press.
