A Message from Our Executive Director As I reflect on the past year, it's evident that our community has faced many challenges, revealing both our vulnerabilities and our strengths. In times of uncertainty and change, we've discovered profound lessons about resilience, compassion, and the power of unity. The past year has been marked by unforeseen economic struggles, with families grappling not only with the rising costs of living but also with the unpredictability of life's twists and turns. The realization that a crisis can touch anyone, regardless of circumstance, has become a poignant theme woven into the fabric of our collective experience. Yet, despite these adversities, we've found inspiration in the unity that has emerged from our community. Generosity has become a beacon, lighting the path for those in need. The statistics speak volumes – together, we've been able to provide critical assistance to over 4,700 individuals, including vulnerable populations such as the elderly and Frisco ISD students. These are not just numbers; they represent lives touched and communities strengthened. Our cherished volunteers, the backbone of our organization, have demonstrated unwavering commitment. Together, they served an impressive 33,745 hours of volunteer service, ensuring our programs and services met the increased demand. In the spirit of unity, numerous community members, groups, and businesses rallied behind our mission. Their financial contributions, donations of essential items, and support for our upscale Resale Store, where proceeds fuel our mission, have been instrumental. TOGETHER, we provided more than 686,000 meals, a testament to the impact achievable through collective action. As we reach our 30th anniversary, your unwavering support has made you true partners in our mission. Together, we've not only weathered storms but transformed lives, enhancing the quality of life for everyone in our wonderful community. Meeting the Needs of Our Community Preventing Hunger in Our Community Frisco Family Services Market Clients shop at no cost in a grocery store-like setting for the food they know their family will eat, enabling them to use their limited financial resources for other essential needs and avoid hunger.
Market Express Market Express is an online shopping alternative for those who are ill, who do not feel comfortable with in-person shopping, or have limited availability due to their work schedule.
Mobile Market The Mobile Market provides home delivery to our seniors and other individuals who are unable to drive, have a lack of transportation, or are suffering from an illness. This is just another way we work to ensure our clients have access to the same nutritious food we offer in our Market.
Summer Lunch Program Our Summer Lunch Program provides lunches to our Frisco and/or Frisco ISD students who are typically eligible for free or reduced lunches throughout the school year. In addition, nutritious food boxes and weekend snack bags are given out on Fridays. This program promotes social interaction by offering recreational activities with peers.
Thanksgiving Meal Program Our Thanksgiving Meal Program provides individuals and families with a turkey, and everything needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal in the comfort of their own home. A game is also included to encourage quality time with family and friends.
Preventing Homelessness in Our Community Emergency Financial Assistance
We help individuals and families during their financial hardship stay in their homes, keep utilities connected, purchase prescription medications and address additional needs such as fuel assistance to travel to and from a job interview or medical appointment. Payments are made to apartment communities, mortgage companies, utility providers and other entities on behalf of the client. To apply for emergency assistance, a prospective client must live in Frisco and/or Frisco ISD and have a lease or mortgage in their name.
A Widower’s Resilience

John found himself navigating the challenging journey of single parenthood after the sudden loss of his beloved wife. Left to care for their young children, the weight of grief was compounded by the financial strain that came with providing for a family on his own. As bills piled up, John felt the walls closing in, unsure of how to keep a roof over their heads and maintain a sense of normalcy for his children. That's when he discovered the support of Frisco Family Services. Frisco Family Services not only offered a sympathetic ear, but helped John meet the immediate needs of his family as well as set goals toward financial independence. The kindness and understanding shown by his case manager became a beacon of hope for John, illustrating the power of a community that cares.
Providing Opportunities and Stability Challenging Adult Minds for Personal Success (CHAMPS) CHAMPS workshops are facilitated by local businesses and professional volunteers in the community who provide each client with educational information, training and support that may be necessary to achieve or maintain self-sufficiency and success.
Intensive Self-Sufficiency Program (ISSP)
ISSP provides critical support to clients who have limited education and employment experience. Through one-on-one intensive case management, an individualized plan of action is developed that allows the client to remove barriers and obtain their financial independence once again.
Seasonal Programs
Throughout the year, Frisco Family Services’ seasonal programs provide support and a sense of comfort to individuals and families and help eliminate additional financial stress by providing school essentials or gifts during the Holiday Season. Seasonal Programs are made possible through generous financial contributions, in-kind donations, and invaluable volunteers who want to make an impact in our community.
Back2School Fun Fair
Holiday Store Program
Eligible Frisco and Frisco ISD students, grades K-12, receive a new backpack filled with school supplies, new clothing and shoes, hygiene items, haircuts, vision screenings, glasses, and more to ensure they are ready for the new school year. Parents and caregivers are provided with helpful community resources.
Helps ensure individuals and families have a joyful holiday season during their time of crisis. Generous supporters donate brand new toys, bicycles, shoes, gift cards, new clothing, and other gifts. Our eligible clients can shop at our Holiday Store at no cost to them.
Silver Bells Holiday Social & Celebration
This special event spreads joy to eligible senior clients who join together for a delicious meal, to socialize, play games, and receive holiday gifts.
Rising Above Inflation:
A Senior's Tale of Resilience and Community Support
Meet Louise, a resilient senior citizen who has weathered life's storms with grace. Despite facing her fair share of challenges, it was the recent wave of inflation that truly turned her life upside down. Like many others, Louise found herself grappling with tough decisions. The costs associated with her essential medications became a constant source of concern, forcing her into the heartbreaking dilemma of prioritizing her health or putting food on her table. With the help of a church referral, Louise was able to receive assistance through Frisco Family Services. Recognizing the struggles all too well, Frisco Family Services came to Louise's aid by granting her access to the Market, ensuring that she received ample food. Louise was not only provided resources to assist with her prescription medications but also found relief from the threat of potential eviction. In the face of adversity, her story is a testament to the resilience of seniors who, despite economic challenges, find solace and support in the caring arms of Frisco Family Services and our community. 5

Signature Fundraising Events
GalaONE Each Spring, we come together as ONE Community, for ONE Purpose, making ONE Big Impact for our largest fundraising and friend raising event. GalaONE 2023, held Saturday, March 25th, at the National Soccer Hall of Fame, was an evening filled with live music from the energetic Party Machine Band, incredible live and silent auctions, luxury raffle, and delectable cuisine provided by some of the area’s finest restaurants.

Your IMPACT Changes Lives in our LOCAL Community! From Layoffs to Leadership: A Father’s Tale of Transformation Mark, a father of a teenager in Frisco ISD, was grappling with the harsh realities of a changing job market. His recent layoff left him no choice but to accept a position that required a lengthy commute, paying far less than his previous job. As if the financial strain wasn’t enough, rising gas prices, tolls, and a series of car issues seemed to pile up at the worst possible time. With his daughter relying on him, Mark knew he had to find a way to pull through these challenges.
In search of support, he turned to Frisco Family Services and was introduced to CHAMPS (Challenging Adult Minds for Personal Success), where he gained not only valuable skills but also a supportive community eager to help him through his tough transition. One of the key offerings was assistance with revamping his resume. Our dedicated professional volunteer instructors worked closely with Mark, helping him tailor his resume to highlight his skills and experience, making him more competitive in the job market. Mark’s updated resume opened doors, and soon he secured a position that offered better pay and was closer to home, reducing his travel expenses. Frisco Family Services not only provided practical tools but also instilled a sense of determination to weather the storm for the sake of his family. In the face of challenges, the warmth and guidance of Frisco Family Services helped Mark navigate the road to self-sufficiency.
