Venue Accessibility Information

Detailed accessibility information is available on our website for each main venue and POSTSCRIPT locations. Information includes door widths, ramp specifications, and accessible washroom details.

Venue Guides

These online guides can help you get acquainted with a venue before you visit. Guides are available on our website for most main venues. They include directions to the venue and information on what you can expect when you get there.

Personal Support Workers

Where a support worker is required to accompany patrons with disabilities, admission to all Fringe performances and events is free for the accompanying person. Every attending patron and accompanying support person must have a valid ticket to that performance or event. Please advise the box office when you purchase your tickets.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome in all areas of our venues that are open to the public. Please advise the box office when you purchase your tickets.

Priority Seating

Patrons with access needs are requested to identify themselves to the venue’s Front of House Supervisor at least 25 minutes prior to performance start times. Priority seating cannot be guaranteed after general admission begins.

Assistive Listening Devices

Listening Devices are available at these venues:

#1 Tarragon Mainspace

#2 Tarragon Extraspace

#4 Al Green Theatre

#5 Theatre Passe Muraille

#8 Aki Studio, Native Earth Performing Arts

Quantities are limited but can be reserved in advance when purchasing your ticket online or by phone.

Patron Services

All points of service at the Fringe are equipped with magnifying tools as well as pen and paper. The Festival Box Office Booth at the Tranzac also has sensory kit items (earplugs, fidget devices, sunglasses, lap pad) available to borrow. Staff and volunteers receive training on serving patrons with disabilities, however, we are always striving to do better. We encourage you to send us feedback by contacting our Patron Services Coordinator at patron. coordinator@fringetoronto.com.

HOW DO I INDICATE ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS TO BOX OFFICE?

Online: If you are a new ticket buyer at Fringe, you will be prompted to create a Fringe patron account. When filling out your details, please select from the list of Access Categories. If you have booked tickets with the Fringe before, simply log into your account and edit “My Account” where you can select from the list of Access Categories. When finalizing ticket purchase, you will be able to provide notes on any additional access requirements.

Over the phone: The Patron Services Representative will be able to help you update the Access Categories associated with your patron account and will also ask if you have any additional access requirements for the performance(s) you are interested in attending.

Assisted Performances

Many Fringe shows are providing additional access measures at select performances. Shows that have optedin will have an icon beside their listing in this guide. For detailed information about the type of accessible performance please refer to our Assisted Performances Supplement or to our website. You can search by Assisted Performances type online in our show listings. Last minute changes do happen, so make sure to check our website for up-to-date information throughout the festival: fringetoronto.com/access

If you have access needs or a question about accessibility at the Fringe, contact our Accessibility Coordinators at access@fringetoronto.com, or call our Festival Box Office at 416-966-1062.

WE’RE STREAMLINING THE BOX OFFICE

The only place to get tickets in person is at a Festival Box Office. Tickets will not be available to purchase at-the-door at the venues. You will be able to redeem at-the-door tickets on a previously purchased multi-show pass.

Make sure you stop by a Festival Box Office to buy tickets or passes in person, or book tickets or passes at fringetoronto.com on a mobile device up until 5 minutes before every performance. Our tip: purchase a multi-show pass so you can decide last minute to pop into that show everyone is buzzing about. Pick up a physical Fringe Festo Card at a Festival Box Office so you can just tap at the door to redeem against your pass!

More Ways To Save

PREVIEW PERFORMANCES: $8 (+$2 SERVICE CHARGE)

Some companies have designated their first performance as a PREVIEW. See the full schedule; preview performances will appear in bold in the show listings.

DAILY DISCOUNTS: $8 (+$2 SERVICE CHARGE)

These deals are announced daily on our Instagram Stories, online at fringetoronto.com, and at the Festival Box Offices. Daily discounts are available for purchase as of 10am the day of the show (9pm the night before for KidsFest shows) everywhere tickets are sold.

TAP AT THE DOOR WITH YOUR FRINGE FESTO CARD

Pick up a Fringe Festo smartcard at a Festival Box Office that is loaded with your tickets and passes. Once you have a card, keep it to reuse festival to festival! It will always be linked to your account so you can tap at the door to “scan” your pre-booked ticket, or to redeem a ticket directly from a purchased pass.

Reminders

Admission to show: Bring your e-ticket (either on a smart device or printed at home) to the venue to be admitted to the theatre, or your Fringe Festo Card. No printer? No worries – the name the ticket was booked under will be on a digital guest list at the venue. All shows start on time: Set your clocks to Eastern Daylight Time.

There may be no late call: Shows may not offer latecomer admission, so be sure to check the show webpage ahead of time and aim to be at least 15 minutes early.

Better safe than sorry: If you feel unwell at all, please contact our Patron Services team before the performance begins to exchange or refund your ticket at no extra cost. Do not come to the festival if you have any symptoms. Tickets exchanged for a different production will incur a $2 exchange fee.

The Fine Print

All passes are transferable. The 10-Show Pass, 20-Show Pass, and 30-Show Pass may be used for up to two tickets per performance. Passes can be purchased online, by phone or at a Festival Box Office. Your pass can be used to book a ticket at the door of a performance. Each ticket booked in advance on a pass will incur a $2 advance booking fee. There are no refunds for any unused portion of a pass. Make sure to use up the entire pass before purchasing your next one. Pick up your Fringe Festo Card at a Festival Box Office booth to tap at the venues to redeem tickets off your pass.
